  1. No, I'm not in a hurry. I was just curious how it works. After all, this is the very last step of a long journey lol

If you are in a hurry just pay for the expedited fee, takes 10-14 days. or schedule an app at one of the pp agencies.

In addition, the following regional passport agencies do not require any travel plans to apply (an appointment and the Expedite Fee are still required to apply):
    Arkansas Passport Agency
    Buffalo Passport Agency
    Colorado Passport Agency
    Detroit Passport Agency
    El Paso Passport Agency
    Honolulu Passport Agency
    Minneapolis Passport Agency
    San Diego Passport Agency
    Seattle Passport Agency
    Vermont Passport Agency
  2. You can give it a try the same day you are having your oath ceremony. However, if the ceremony ends late, I doubt you can get your passport the same day (same-day passport usually requires an early arrival to passport agencies) Why don't you go there on the following Monday or Tuesday? Be there early and take your certificate of naturalization and proof of travel with you.

  3. Hi, does anyone rencently applying for a first-time US passport in NYC could provide us with a time frame how long it took? I understand it usually takes 4-6 weeks for regular processing and 2-3 weeks for expedited service, according to DOS's website. Am I expected this process longer or shorter in NYC? Also, both post office and passport agency could handle expedited service, correct? Any advices are appreciated!

  4. Just venting....getting discouraged, STILL waiting for a letter telling us when our interview is scheduled.....check the mailbox anxiously everyday and still nothing....sigh

There's really nothing to worry about. You may be thinking too much. Register the text msg/email case status service with USCIS, so that you don't have to check your mailbox everyday.

  5. About five days ago, I received both text msg and email saying that my application was scheduled for interview. So far, I still haven't received a letter with time and place for my interview. Is it normal? I thought usually the letter should be received around the same time with the text msg and email notifications. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

  6. I registered for both email and text msg notifications with uscis. When an interview date is fixed, am I expected to receive a status update notification? I received a update in both forms three weeks ago for being placed in line. Just wanted to confirm the same thing will happen for the interview date notification. Thanks.

  7. Thank you for your response. I notice that you completed the entire journey successfully within a very short time period. Is it common in SF area? I thought California has even more population than New York - am I expected to have everything done in 3-4 months as well?

It was probably just a duplicate in error. Either way since you did an early bio it should be fine. good.gif

  8. Last week I received my first I-797 notice scheduling my biometrics appointment. I successfully did a walk-in yesterday. Surprisingly, I received another I-797 today showing the same appointment date as the first notice. Has anyone here had similar experience before? I assume these two are the same, although sent on different days. The USCIS online case inquiry matches the first notice.
