  1. Hi !

Has anyone thought about applying for or has applied for Jamaican Citizenship based on marriage? or based on descent for your children with your JA spouse? I am in the process of registering our kids births and just wanted feedback from those that have done it or are thinking about it. Also, thinking about filing for citizenship based on marriage (it goes both ways right :) ) In my opinion, it should. Thanks!

  2. No you do not.

If you are correcting for a checklist do not send the documentation again unless something was specifically asked for. Only send the 9 pages of the form.

I'm speaking from experience and it is better safe than sorry to send ALL documents in the packet . If you made copies (like the process advises of) this should not be a problem because you should already have them. I made the mistake of correcting only the form, and they DID REQUEST all INFORMATION (I.E. tax transcripts or documents). If I were you, I would just send everything all together again..be safe instead of sorry later....

  3. Here is my suggestion since you already have the interview letter. You may want to have the interview rescheduled. Because if you go to the interview without the medical, most likely your case is going to be denied or postponed anyways. See if you can reschedule.

In regards to the letter not being mailed, we experienced the same issue , but what I did was when I received the interview letter via email , I faxed a copy of it to my husband so he would have a copy, and when I mailed him a copy of all the docs that had been sent in on the case to take to his interview, I included a copy in their as well. The medical form is online as well and I faxed that along with the letter, that way he wouldn't wait until the last minute to try and figure out how to get it.

    Good Luck !!

  4. Be prepared to NOT hear from the Embassy lol but send the email anyways. Also, make sure the beneficiary takes a copy of the DHL confirmation to the interview. If they forget, it is ok because they are just checking to make sure you do so , and if not, they will give you a reminder slip to register. Once the VISA is approved, they will go by what is registered in the system at the time the waybill is being generated.

    Good Luck !

  5. Everyone says the waybill should be 2 days after issued date but I was issued on 3/27 and still no waybill #. Getting kind of frustrated with the this process....So close to the finished line yet so far

It seems everyones time frame is different bc Waybill received Monday, available for pickup yesterday, he left work and got it today !!! But I did see where some had it within 2 days, and bc lat week was a holiday, I expected a little delay. I said if I hadn't heard anything today I was going to be reaching out to the consulate. You may want to try that ...I hope you guys hear something soon :)

We were approved 2-27-14 and although the status has been updated a few times, it is still at "Non-Immigrant - Ready" since 3-3-14. People have said different things, but I wouldn't mind if it just jumps to "Issued" now. So his visa can jump in the DHL truck to MoBay and land ever so gently in my fiance's hand on the way to the airport... Off-Topic2.gif (sorry, I'm always drifting off and dreaming of happy beginnings yet to come.)

Just try to be patient and enjoy daydreaming to pass the time. wub.png

  6. By tomorrow evening your CEAC status should say visa issued... then two business days after you should receive your waybill # which would be Monday. And if its being delivered to Montego Bay it would be about Tuesday. Then that same day its usually available for pickup. But because the waybill email is sent out late you will more than likely picking it up the next day. So i would say Wednesday or Thursday u should be expecting your visa! Btw...congratz!!!

GIRL !!!! You hit it to the exact time frame lol . Waybill received Monday, available for pickup yesterday, he left work and got it today !!! and plane ticket has been booked lol !!! Thanks girl !!!

  7. I think it would have been better to n put her maiden name because they generally want the name that matches the birth certificate. For our application I used my maiden name for everything. And even though I changed my name legally last summer, I still kept everything in my maiden name because that matched my birth certificate and application. I would say call the visa service center to check...wouldn't hurt :)

  8. Like a hawk. I saw some people didn't get their waybill # for almost a week after their CEAC status changed to "Issued" which is why I haven't called yet. I also saw on CSC's website that they are closed Wednesday, March 5, 2014 for Ash Wednesday, which may delay the delivery a bit more.... I scheduled ours for pickup in Mobay.

Girl I have been driving myself crazy too with this email lol ...My husband got approved Monday and yes they are closed today for the holiday, so if nothing by Monday, I'm calling , emailing, and everything else under the sun lol We are scheduled for Mobay pickup as well.

    Keep me posted !

  9. It seems that Kingston schedules appointments about six weeks from the case complete at NVC. That puts them right up against the April 15 tax deadline. If your interview is going to be after April 15, they will likely ask to see 2013 at interview time. NVC may be trying to avoid any delays at interview by requiring them to submit 2013 now. This whole process is so overwhelming. I am just starting at NVC - 23 business days and no case number yet:(

Keep strong !!!! It is a verrrrrryyyyyy tedious process but it will be over before you know it :) Check my page and let me know if you need help with anything....

As far as the taxes, if a $ amount is written incorrectly, they send it back..I went through it twice :( We had out interview and all went well !!!! Stay prayed up !

  10. Yes, just make a note of the name of the calling service that was used, and if you can, print off the access numbers for the website.

I used Google Voice, SoSo Chat, and Telephone Jamaica and I just printed off my call history directly from those websites. For Google Voice I made a note explaining that the Georgia number listed on my phone bill is just an access number.

That's why it is always good to register online because the system will track this stuff for you :star:

    Good luck !

  11. Hello,

I am currently looking at options for bringing my boyfriend/ "Fiance" to the US. We have been discussing getting married this year/ early next year and I would like some advise as to what the best way to begin would be. If we get married we are looking at possbily around Christmas this year, other wise we would get married after the K-1 is approved (LORD willing) if we decide to go this route. We really want to be together as soon as possible, but we also want to do things the right way to ensure things get approved.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks!!!!
