  1. Hello to All,

I have been selected for dv lottery 2013 but I am facing a problem with the application form ds-230.

I have been married for 7 years to a man who has two children with his previous marriage. His children never accepted our marriage and they don’t talk to me at all moreover I never met them because they always continue to refuse to meet me.

Anyway, I applied for dv lottery 2013 and since I did not have any of my husband’s children pictures I could not list them in the entry application form. They never provide us with any pictures required for the ID card and I did not have choice but not to list them in order that the online application system would allow me to complete the entry.

Now as a fisrt applicant I am filling out the ds-230 form and I don’t know what to do. If I list them now I know I will be disqualified. If I don’t my husband and me have to show at the interview day that my husband have two children from his first marriage and we will be again disqualified. Please, anyone who could help me how to proceed further with my application that I dont want to lose this chance just because of some issues that are not on my hands.

    Thank you a lot.

oh my God, i am in the same positon, won dv 2013, but did not include step children, (my wife's children), they are living with their father in a different county there were custody battles going on between her and the ex husband, the children would not even talk to her let alone me, only met them few years ago. i have letters from the court regarding this custody case, this was before i entered the lottery in october 2011. Shall i list them on my ds-230 and provide copies of such letters and explain why i could not get pictures. they are not immigrating with us anyway since they made it clear on papers they want to live with their father. HELPPPPP

  2. hi guys, just found out i have been selected for further processing on dv-2013 and was filling out my forms but got a bit stuck and didnt know what to do when it came to question 41 which asks whether you have been arrested, charged or convicted. My answer to this is YES as i have had couple of arrests in the UK, total 8, 6 of which were related to domestic arguments with the mrs and false accusations made to the police.the other two were drunk and disorderly.

Of all these arrests, i have never had any warnings, charges, cautions nor convictions, my question now is, would these affect my chances of obtaining a visa? please help, my head is in a mess now. on the police report i did myself, all the 6 arrests has dispositions of NO FURTHER ACTION. and i had penalty tickets for the drunk and disorderly. my last arrest was back in 2009 just for your info.

    thanks
