Hello to everyone waiting here. I'm wondering, when can I call Tier 2 officer after biometric. should I give them some time about a month?

Finally decided to add myself, after the nightmare with bio scheduling. Hopefully with interview I'm gonna be more lucky

I have not heard anything from my case since receiving my NOA. I see everyone or mostly have their biometrics scheduled. No biometrics sched for me yet. But I was wondering though, does this statement below typically whats in the NOA:

"Upon receipt of all required Record Checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office." ???

I was in your shoes. I've started calling them since 30th day of receiving NOA passed. Until then you'll be told, that it could take up to 30 days to receive biometric notice. On 30th day of NOA you have a right to open an investigation what is wrong with your case. In my situation it took them almost 1.5 month to schedule my biometric/ I still didn't receive a bio notice, but was able to download it through their portal and do a simple walk-in bio. Manager in Elizabeth NJ was very nice and allowed to do it. So wait for 30 days from your NOA date and then start calling them. By the way, tier 2 officers are able to see was your bio scheduled or not, if you don't have online acc through https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ you can ask them to assist you.

could you tell me how to display my case. I have no idea where get their code. And I'm getting really worried, while since notice on 31st of may I haven't heard anything about biometric.

I mailed my case to TX, but my field office is Mount Laurel, NJ

One more question for everyone; was it mentioned, that you'll receive your biometric letter soon in your NOA or not? I just have couple sentences about interview...

im in a process of removing condition for my wife, submitted docs few months back, and I can tell you that supportive documents consisted of more than a half of package. Had certified copy of license cert, statement from the bank that we have had joint checking and savings since right after marriage, a credit card info that states I am the co-signed, house ownership papers, statements by 2 people that we are legit marriage, my life insurance and 401k pension docs showing her as primary beneficiary, join car credit, etc

Basically you have to show that your lives are so tingled together that if you were to divorce (God forbids) it was a huge mess both financially and legally.

Do you have a list of supportive docs that you have included?

I think you need to start looking for a co-sponsor, as they will ask for 2 previous tax returns (they sure did for my petition). Sounds like you will have not enough on 2014, and not sure about 2013. If I were an officer making a decision - unfortunately it would not be in your favor.

she would need to show 125% of povery income for 3 people for the period of last 2 years, so 20090 * 1.25 = 25113$ on income during 2 previous years and she is clear financially. Any lack in income can be compensated with funds available to cover (forgot the formula, but probably between 5 and 10 times, so with 22000 income she would need to have 3500 * 5or10 ~20k in savings to qualify).

receiving public benefits has lit up big arguments here, and multiple people claim that if us citizen is receiving them - it does not disqualifies petition, but everyone agrees that visiting side cannot apply for those until after lifting conditions.

no offence here, but if I was the decision making officer I would not approve such petition due to the danger of him becoming a puiblic burden unless a) your sister stops receiving benefits for 2 years and then reapplies, b) has a sponsor with enough income evidence that would be fianancially responsible for repaying any benefits that he may end up receiving.

Hi everyone!

I am now planning a trip to Russia with my beautiful wife Anna, and it seems that Russia changed lots of policies on applying for a visa (previously I used some agency in Dallas, fill all paper, get pics, send check with passport, and 2 weeks later passport comes back with a valid visa).

My questions are for everyone, but preferably for someone who recently went through this process.

1. Looks like its possible to get 3 year multi-entry visa, so I am not sure if it would be better to get old-fashioned tourist visa or get private visa (since if I'd be going I will be traveling with my wife only).

2. I am unclear on where/how to apply now. looks like I need to go to WWW.ILS-USA.COM, start the application, pay the fees, get the appointment for that subcontractor, show up for the interview in NY and get visa in person. Any way to cut that in-person appointment process to go through the mail as I used to?

3. Finally, I cannot find any answer on the invitation process. Previously I would just pay extra 20-30$ to those guys in Dallas and they'd issue a hotel invite and that was it. Now if I apply for tourist visa - I would need to get something similar (where, how, cost?) or if I apply for a private visa - all I'd need would be one time only invitation that can be signed by mother-in-law?

Maybe there is a cheat-guide on getting a visa?

I got a question that is somewhat unusual as I Cannot find an official answer on USCIS site.

We are married now, she came over on K1 visa, we are ready to start the AOS process, but want to file AOS at the same time with work authorization and travel document. What is the combined fee that should be enclosed with the package, if anyone done this recently? Also its my understanding that because she has done a physical in order to get K1 visa and its been less than a year another one is not necessary, as long as all shots are done.

Basically you have to show a proof that you will not become a burden for USA tax payers, and food stamps is one of the benefits that you would need to repay for (or your sponsor will need to) in case you do get those.

I'd hope that UK is somewhat ok with financial questions, at least compared to some of the smaller countries. However her getting food stamps will be a big warning sign for the interviewer. You definetly need to prepare strong supportive case where her close relative / friend of a really long time will sign sponsorship papers, your assests would also help but they'd ask for *3 times more in assests than proven income.

5 extra cents: CR1 on average takes several months longer from beginning to the end of procedure, compared to K1. And unless u're living in Russia it would result in time apart after you've been married.

Might be more practical to get a big engagement party in russia, and do all legal things in US

I paid same visa fee for Moscow consulate, it was 240$ but with the exchanges and international charges I ended up with 276$

Never heard of this one before... but a logical idea to research would be to find a country that does allows two of you to get legally married and you both can legally visit (like Netherlands), and then apply for CR1. And then if you home state recognzies same-sex marriage you might be able to fight it through USA legal system.

Either way you're in for a challenge, best of luck.

we got packet after visa approval, all it contains is a single piece of paper with advise to go to a website that has all the requirements, that's it. total waste of time, dont bother waiting

travelled 4 times with that requirement, there are plenty of websites that help with visa application that will also issue an invitation and a confirmation of hotel stay for like 30$; out of 4 trips only one time someone asked about it when I was leaving, and I responded with something like: "I did not liked this hotel, so I moved to another one, and already tossed receipt"

The goal of that system is to force tourist to register as soon as he/she plans to stay for certain amount of time in one place, never did this on those trips. Same thing, once was asked about this, and responded: "I never stayed in one city for more that the minimum duration, so I did not had to register"

Embassy confirmed they received petition, send me the general email. I paid 240$, filled DS160 online, registered for that crazy website, and when I get to the schedule window its empty for as far as one cares to scroll it.

Suspecting that they either disabled it for the holidays or that there is no "block" posted.

I am known as a worst skeptic around here, so you can choose to skip my opinion if you feel like it.

I see 4 problems with your situation. None are critical, but each one needs attention.

a) She definitely needs passport, and you stated that you have already applied. As long as it comes together prior to the appointment to the embassy - all ok.

b) she was never married and has 4 children: you will definitely need to get some official document that proves that. If I was CO I'd investigate this seriously.

c) pictures, I submitted only 6 pics for my application of us together, and seems like it was enough. Hope you have at least some as it would be very suspicious for a CO if you don't have at least one.

d) 42000 salary is just enough for covering 125% income: as CA resident you need to show $38712 unless you're in armed forces. This is in case you do not have any more dependents on your income taxes. Also I am unclear on your tax situation while you lived in Mongolia for 9 months: if this took place within last 2 years you will have to show your tax forms.

Finally being 12 years older and from a completely different culture also may raise some questions on the interview but I completely believe that you can get this case going.

Just talked to my future wife about this, and she confirms that any russian not living in moscow permanently has to register within 3 days of arrival or risks being stopped by police, etc.

Sounds like your GF broke this law, which is fine as long as nobody would have found out. But if you already mailed I129 that included moscow in it you probably need legal advice on this matter.

I see 2 possibilities, either you must retract your petition and start over skipping this part, or must prepare some kind of letter explaining situation for the officer doing the interview. I'm sure you've seen other posts describing situations where everyone says not to lie even if there is a bad situation and be open about it. Here, I believe, you may have shot yourself in a foot. Definetly seek a legal advice as you will need legal help in case interviewer will ask this question.
