We received the e-mail and text update last night stating, "We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number NBC*<removed>, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony." Hopefully my spouse can be scheduled this month or next.

Looks like an RFE is on the way... assembling more documents to respond, but we'll have to wait to see what the letter says.

Are you an August filler? what field office? I just want to get an idea of the difference of processing times between Elis cases and NBC cases...
Yes, my spouse filed the last week of August, and she got an NBC case number even though she had used the new form. I believe it was right around the time USCIS went back to giving out NBC numbers.
Our local office is San Jose. My spouse had her interview on November 30th. She passed the English and civics portions, but she received the "a decision cannot yet be made" box. We're now waiting to see if anything else will be required before she gets scheduled for an oath.

It seems to be affecting only ELIS cases, but I wonder if this will this extend to NBC cases too?
My spouse has an NBC number, but we haven't heard anything since her interview last week. We proactively scheduled an InfoPass appointment in two weeks so that we can check on things. The interviewing officer told my spouse that she'd hear back in a week if additional information was required.

Hi all,
I thought I would post this data point...
My spouse had her interview this morning at the San Jose field office. She passed the tests of English and U.S. history and government, and the associated box is checked. However, subsequent to that, the boxes next to "USCIS will send you a written decision about your application." is checked, and she got the "B) [X] A decision cannot yet be made about your application." The interviewer said the reason is because we have no children and only sent in 3 years of tax return transcripts with the N-400 application. The interviewer said that she would hear back within a week, and it's possible nothing further will be needed from our side.
It seems like at best nothing more will be required, and at worst an RFE. She was not given an N-14 at the interview, nor is the box checked.
Since she has an NBC case number instead of IOE, would the case still be updated online on the myUSCIS Check My Case page? We will proactively monitor for changes to the status, but we don't know if it will be updated any further. It still says the "we scheduled an interview..." message.

I was approved for global entry using the conditional green card and have made several international trips since, with no issues whatsoever. Once you get the ten year green card, you will not be required to visit an enrollment center. You will just need to update the new green card's expiry date online.
We did the update of the expiration date online, but my spouse hasn't left the country since before the ROC process started. We were wondering if we had to stop by an enrollment center to update any of the information, so thanks for answering the question. I assume you've reentered the US using the new, 10-year card and used the kiosks without issues after only updating the expiration date online?
However, once my spouse has a US passport in hand after she finishes the naturalization process, I believe we need to go in and have a USCBP officer update the documents on her account?

I used the new form, and I got IOE outright. If you used the new form, it should have been IOE, but getting NBC numbers from sending the new form has happened to people too. I guess you never receive the NOA that tells you to set up the online account then? IOE filers may face a delay, but I do find the PDF access convenient.
That was my understanding, which is why we were expecting the IOE case number having used the new form. We didn't receive any NOA beyond the first one with the NBC case number.
Fortunately we haven't had any issues with things being sent by mail throughout this entire process beginning over 4 years ago, but online access is definitely more convenient for being able to check on document updates and provide correspondence with USCIS.

Does your receipt number start with IOE or NBC? If it starts with IOE, you will soon, if not already, receive another NOA for you to create an online account with USCIS, and on that account, you will be able to see the Biometric Notice's PDF copy once they have sent the hard copy to you.
The receipt number starts with NBC. We received an update e-mail/text today saying that a fingerprint appointment notice had been mailed.
I'm curious to know why the case is NBC instead of IOE? From what I've read people using the March 2016 (current) N-400 form seem to be getting IOE case numbers. I also read that some case numbers converted from NBC to IOE with a second NOA letter mailed.

It seems like everyone is getting bio appointments quickly, but we haven't received anything in the mail past the NOA on Tuesday. Should we be concerned? We don't want to miss the appointment.

majuki - a few posts above stated that he/she got it. and his/hers was filed in late august. congrats. let's hope everyone hears back soon.
My wife got her card production e-mail/text yesterday, so I'm assuming that means approval? I was surprised considering our NOA was late August and USCIS tends to be chronological in its approvals. The message came out of the blue, and I wasn't expecting approval so quickly considering the progression of the June/July/August timelines. I also saw that the timeline for CSC has regressed. I don't know what factors would have played into faster approval. Our case is cookie cutter with no special factors.

It took some people only 2 weeks. It's been 3 weeks for me and nothing yet
We haven't received a letter either. Is it possible that some of our biometrics are current? I remember reading on some other threads that those with current biometrics won't get an appointment letter. I've noticed on the timelines that the dates have been regressing over the last week, so perhaps they're waiving biometrics again for those of us who have done them recently?

We moved in August of 2014, and we were half expecting to get a forwarded letter from the old address reminding us that the card was expiring. To our surprise, the letter came addressed to my wife at the new address but still from the Vermont Service Center. (We're now in California.) It seems like there is no consistency.

I want to avoid the nightmare that was my last ordeal, and intend to just go in tomorrow, waste no time, and get this sorted. My green card expires mid-October, so I can't show that as proof, so I'll have to show my one-year extension letter I-797.
I am DREADING getting some clerk who doesn't know jack about I-751 and the extension notice. I don't cope well with grumpy government bureaucrats, I just cower in fear.
Does anyone have any experience using their extension letter as proof of legal presence?
I have a colleague whose wife is going through the removal of conditions as well, and she had no issue showing the extension letter to renew her driver's license.
Generally I would say those at the DMV in California are well versed in such matters due to the number of immigrants and non-immigrant workers, but it all depends on the employee. To demonstrate the inconsistency, my wife's legal name has a hyphen in it. When she went for a driver's license the first clerk said that the name had to match her legal presence document exactly. The issue is that her green card doesn't have a hyphen but rather a space. All of her other documentation has the hyphen. When she went back to take the road test the clerk noticed that the hyphen wasn't there even though it was on her passport and social security card and offered to add the hyphen to her driver's license.
Fortunately, after removal of conditions it should be possible to get 5-year DLs from here on out.

My wife's oath ceremony was today, and I'm happy to report she is now a US Citizen! I want to thank everyone for all of the contributions on this site that have helped us through the process. It truly has been a journey these last 5 or so years!
