  1. Yes but what use is my timeline to somebody else except to create angst and confusion? For example, I breezed though NOA1 to embassy interview in 5 months, I think it's unfair to lead anyone else to expect/assume similar when some VSC folks are waiting for NOA2 at 9 months. You already have folks that want to write the President in 90 days from NOA1 because they saw a trend stating that CSC was averaging 90 days. That's the thing with averages, well it's just that average, yes.

I do have to agree! Unlike everyone else's experience at the time and through everyone else's timeline, I truly thought the process would take 5 to 6 months, we got approval of our Petition in "82" Days!!!!! That was even better than my dream timeline! I am always one to hope for the best and plan for the worst, and the timelines helped me plan for the worst... But would I have wanted to think that I could be approved in 82 days, No Way!!!!! but I am so FREAKIN THANKFUL that we were...

All I know is we are all people bonded by an experience, and I am so thankful to have this place and all of you!

  2. Maybe OP thinks there will be a melee when Romney looses. Like rich folks throwing empty jars of Grey Pourpon at the unwashed 47 and 99 percenters.

I love your comments and I loveheart.gif your personal profile Quotes even more! Both of them of genuine and genius, and really say a lot about you, in all the good ways ;-)

Gasp, yes it's true, I have no timeline. One of my favorite threads on VJ, a must read which explains why timelines are overated and can cause most to have angst.

Thank you for taking the time to comment...

  3. Hi!

I had my medical on 6th and followed up with the police certificate after on 13th (who confirmed receipt) and sent my packet 3 forms with the DS2001 all together on 15th and the embassy received this on the 18th sept (I tracked it 1st class recorded mail). I'll let you know if I here anything but I'm not counting on it being quick by the feedback from people on this website. I'm allowing two to four weeks in my own mind just to hear from them.

I'll keep you posted if I here anything.

Lessons to learn, observe official guidance and timescales and what it can take up to, always record everything in writing and enquire if necessary and don't confirm any prior arrangements until the paperwork is in your hand!

    Best of luck

  4. good.gifThanks Nich-Nick for taking the time... I am going to provide the Bank Letter I do have and bank statements, my IRS transcripts from the last 3 years, 3 recent check stubs and a letter from my work! so you are making me feel as if that is enough for this form!

    Thanks so much!

  5. it's one of the requirements on the I-134 Instruction form...

"A. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account:

    1. Date account opened;

    2. Total amount deposited for the past year;

    3. Present Balance.

Did you guys have this letter?

  6. I am currently with an official bank, I have the "Statement from officer Letter" from them and the supporting deposit prints to show the yearly balance for this account but I have only been using them since May, previous I had a pre-paid credit card that I used for my main account and my direct deposit went into, unfortunately I can' get an Official Letter from them, all I can get is my deposit slips from them. Is this going to be a problem? I am only offering the info on this pre-paid credit card account in addition to further support my income before transferring everything over to my current bank…

    Any advice would be appreciated!

  7. Hi Everyone,

This is one of the first times I have used this site (this is Ashley speaking) and that's most likely because the work has been down to my lovely counterpart until now.

I am excited to receive my Packet 3 notice through the post last week however I have a few queries regarding the completion of the Visa application forms. These queries are related to the VISA process adopted in the UK American Embassy in London.

If anyone has a record of how they completed theres and they wouldn't mind sharing what has worked for them or what their thoughts are, I would gratelly appreciate it. The answers to these below may seem obvious or the questions may appear stupid but as I have nothing to conceal, I just want to ensure I give the best answer I can give that is going to only aid the process.

    DS-230 Part 1

    • Question 30. The questions asks for addresses since I was 16, firstly, I just want to check that I don't need to put the house numbers and street name as it doesn't ask for this, just the city, province and country.
    • Question 30. There was a time when I was a student that I would have two addresses - one being my parents, one being my university accomodation. Shall I list both with a clarifying statement on an extra piece of paper about why the dates overlap?

    DS-156

    • Question 22. The question asks for a date (if known) when I will be arriving to the US - I don't know this as I'll obviously wait until I have the papers in my hand then allow one month. Can I leave this blank?
    • Question 26. The question asks how long I intend to stay - I intend to stay forever so could i write "indefinately"?
    • Question 27. The question asks what is the purpose of my trip - I intend to marry my fiance - is that an acceptable answer?
    • Question 30. The question asks if I have ever been issued a visa - does this question include tourist visa entry at the borders? If so, I have a number of previous visits to declare, if not i have never had any other form of visa so I just want to clarify this.

    DS-156K

    • The form requests submit with it: Evidence of financial support - what is this and what could this include?
    • The form requests to submit with it: Evidence of engagement to my fiance - what is this and what could this include?

    General Query

    • The packet three letter and the US embassy website is in my opinion not totally clear on when I can / need to submit the forms named in the packet three letter that make up my application. I understand that the DS-2001 I submit only when I am ready for the interview and I understand what is needed for that. What I do not understand is when I submit the other forms (DS-156, DS-156K, DS-230 Part 1 & 2, DS-157, etc.) Do I submit these with the DS-2001 or as soon as they are ready?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read these and I would be grateful for your support - please feel free to ask me any questions if I'm not clear.

  8. Hi Guys,

So good news! Called the NVC yesterday got my case number and they said my package was shipping yesterday! Whoot Whoot! So I was following instructions from an older thread on here about how to track through DHL and it just keeps saying it can't find my package in the system... I was wondering if it takes a day or two before it could be tracked? That doesn't make sense to me, if it's sent it should come up, but maybe I am doing something wrong...

Any advice or experiences would be appreciated :)

  9. (L) I just read through all your responses and they made me giddy and thankful all over again! I had this pipe dream of August 15th and to have it come in 82 days is still shocking... I keep looking at my NOA2 as if I am missing something! I thought for sure we were going to have to wait 5/6 months for sure! I hope it gives everyone hope and again I just want to thank all of you guys for your support! This is an amazing place and I am happy we all have each other!

Good luck to all of you guys too :)

  10. Thank you all to helping out with this post.

It turns out that from what I've read I (Ashley) have the short form of certificate. I'll be doing some research on how to apply for another one this weekend but has anyone had to apply for a long form copy and willing to share their experience?

    Thanks again in advance.

  11. I read somewhere that some people have had their parents write letters stating their support and belief in the relationship, etc... Has anyone heard of/done this? Do you think it would add to the "Proof of Relationship"?

I am getting a bit worried because we do everything on Skype and texting, we haven't sent each other cards or letters, no phone bills or calling cards... We will have an extensive Skype Log, Emails, Text Messages and A Lot of pictures... I am wondering if the letter from the parents could help...

    Any thoughts?

  12. It still seems like a dream but in less than 3 months our I129 has been approved! I received the text last night!:no:(L)

Thank you guys for all your help! We wouldn't have gotten here without all of your support!

Now we gotta get our hustle on for the K1 process!

  13. Hi all...

For the police certificate, does my fiance need a US size Passport photo or is the regular UK size appropriate for the Police Certificate? He has found a certified endorser for it this weekend and I want to make sure that it's the right size before he get's it signed...

    Thanks guys :)

    Tanya

  14. Hi All...

I am requesting my Transcript for the I-134 and I just wanted to be sure... I am not sure if I want the "Record of Account" which says its the most detailed information or just the "Return Transcript"... Also I assume I am requesting my 1040 and not Form W-2...

I know we all file differently, mine has always been a single 1040 filing... Any advice would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance :)

  15. Hi VJers!...

We are still waiting for our NOA2 but are planning ahead... As far as the Medical Exam goes, is there a specific Doctor/Location that the US Embassy requires you to go to or can you just go anywhere? My Fiance lives in Bristol and thought he might be able to do it there instead of making 2 trips to London...

    Thanks in advance...

    Tanya and Ashley :)
