  1. Follow up question for the affidavit of support....how old can the information be? I have read before people have turned there's in up to 4 months old. I just wanted to double check...what has everyones experience been?? Of course I want mine to be as recent as possible but I also want it to get there as soon as possible. Any information would be helpful, thanks!

  2. In the first letter that you receive from the embassy (just got mine this afternoon) It states that you only need to do this if your application validity time expires. Mine says it's valid for 4 months from the letter date.(I had previously heard 6 but maybe they have changed the date to try speed things up? I can't imagine why anyone would delay the process but it can be tedious filling out all the forms & compiling the documents you need with evidence, & if you have very little spare time, it could take a few months I suppose) Anyway basically if you don't do anything for the 4 months stated in the letter & they don't hear from you, then you need to prove that you're still in a relationship with your fiance & you're still committed to pursuing the application. The letter of intent is not on the list of required documents for the interview on the embassy's website, but other consulates in other regions have asked for it.

If you read Stu4Lee thread about being asked for more evidence at his interview yesterday though, then I think there's no harm getting a letter & I am taking one to my interview in case. It won't be notarized though. Good luck

Thank you SO much!!!! Just trying to be prepared :)

  3. Everything will be fine. And I think the puzzle of what was happening over at VSC has come together. February filers will not be waiting as long as we did. A little bad luck for us, but you guys will be okay. You'll be in the tidal wave of approvals soon to come at VSC. It all came down to H1B...and thank god it's almost over. Many of our own files are just waiting on a desk and the green light for the adjudicators to actually work them..we finally have some consistency with reports as to what was going on..which means now we can get a better perspective of what's going to happen. things are looking much better.

Thanks for shedding some light on this :) This is the happiest I've felt in awhile!!! I feel terrible for the January filers who had to wait, but you guys are almost there! Can't wait to see all of your approvals

  4. Same here! I am thinking of flying out right after the bar exam i.e end of july, till mid august. I last saw him in early march and skype doesnt quite cut it anymore. We were trying to save money as we are getting married both here in NY and in our (other) hometown, Nigeria in december.....but the distance and the INaction in VSC is becoming unbecoming so I might end up being there for the olympics....Still havent decided.

If we get an approval before we book the crazily expensive ticket, then we would stay put but at this rate, watching grass grow is so much faster.

Yet another ditto over here! The flight prices to the UK are terrifying though with the Olympics.

So wish they could have held it in a different city this year. Between the flights and delayed processing times at the embassy over there, it's too much!

  5. Someone help me get rid of this negativity! I'm starting to worry about our approval taking longer than 5 months...I've been dead excited to get to July and now I'm nervous that I wont hear anything! I know its such a bad attitude to have, and all my friends and family tell me I can't think like that but I know you all understand the ups and downs of waiting and waiting and waiting on this NOA2!!!

  6. Hi everyone - I hope no one has asked this yet, I've been searching for hours so as not to repeat questions but haven't found it.

We are currently waiting on the NOA2 which should be here sometime in July. It looks as though it is possible to schedule a medical exam even before we have the NOA2 since we have the case number.

Do you think we are able to do this? My fiance (the English one!) has already gotten up to date with his jabs.

If he tries to schedule a medical at the beginning of July is that trying to get too much of a head start? Do the case numbers change?

    Thanks!!!

And, I just realized there is a whole other section to the forum I wasn't looking at!!!! And I can't figure out how to delete...apologies!

  8. I had a question regarding travel outside of the US and authorization. Currently, my fiance and I are still waiting on our NOA2, however we are trying to plan ahead. My fiances dad was just diagnosed with a terminal condition and I am very nervous that we may need to travel back to the UK while we are waiting on our AOS paperwork. I saw there is an I-131 form but it looks like USCIS wants to know your anticipated dates of travel, which would be impossible to know. Also, it looks like it takes several months to process. Does anyone know if there is another option out there if we would need to travel back to the UK? I know if he left the US, that would stop our AOS paperwork but I'm hoping there are ways to get there if we need to. Thanks!!!
