  1. I from Jacksonville FLorida.. My husband is planning to adopt my son. In my son's birth certificate theres no father's name. We are not married to his father too. His father abandoned him when his still in my womb. He never visit me when i was pregnant nor my son when he was born. We lost contact when i get pregnant, cause he was hiding from me. Now my son is 4 years old, and all he know is that my husband now is his father. My husband is the one who taking care for him when his still 1 and half years old. We are from the Philippines, and my husband is a US Citizen, and we lived here in america for more than 1 year now. My Questions are:

what documents do i need to send?

    what are the requirements?

    How long is the process?

    How much does is cost?

does everyone already done it? Please let me know...

I'm having trouble too on how to explain to my son that his not using my husband's family name.. all he know that he is, LAURENCE BROWN. not LAURENCE CASINILLO( my family name when im not yet married).

He went to school as a VPK, and he introduce himself as that name as BROWN.

Please help us.. so he will be officially Brown..

    Thank you..

  2. I-751 has provision to file from outside US for those who reside oversees pursuant to military or Government order.

That is ONLY when she's doing some military stuff or the government giving her some order to go there in the Philippines. As what i read on her message, she go back to the Philippines due to lack of financial support. American Embassy is so strict regarding this matter, and your reason is invalid too. For me, it is very wrong move my dear. I guess you need to start all over again,.. (correct me if i'm wrong).

  3. I'm actually quite shocked at the lack of empathy shown here in the responses. The OP obviously is very lonely and has no means to get around, to socialize or even go grocery shopping.

To the OP: I know things are hard at the moment, and you could be waiting a long time to hear back from the USCIS, but it will get better. Stay strong, Skype with friends and family to take the edge off of the loneliness, and maybe take some online courses or study for a GED (if you do not already have equivalent qualifications or better)

I hope this one little posting makes you feel better, you aren't alone, I was very much in your shoes feeling like a caged animal at times. I hope things get better for you smile.gif

Thanks for the sympathy.. I feel good now, after I finish posting my card arrived in the mail,... its EAD and AP card.. so it gives me an opportunity to travel to my sister and have so much fun!! that's why it takes for awhile for me to response.. sorry about that! :) I still cannot go out in the house, but im planning to take my learners permit next month, so hope to pass.. by now, still waiting for anything from the USCIS, for the interview or the card. Hope card! LOL..

Thanks for the responsed!!! God bless... :)

  4. Hello! We filed for AOS (from K1and K2)last year.I am from Florida too.Our AOS process lasted exactly 4 months and to my surprise we were not called in for interview.I felt just like you are feeling right now.Frustrated and at times sad.Just be patient and everything will fall into place. After our bipmetrics we did not hear anything from USCIS.Even our status online never changed for 4 months(Acceptance).I was just surprised one day when I checked it was already approved.Take care.BTW where are you specifically located here in Florida?

ohh really? so you have green card now without interview? that's great!!! I hope mine is like that too.. sorry it takes awhile to reply, I visit my sister is seattle after I received my EAD and AP.. so glad!! I'm here in Atlantic Beach Florida.. how about you?

  5. Have you applied for EAD (temporary work authorization) and AP (temporary travel authorization) also? They are free when filed with AOS (or a pending AOS) and are approved in 2-3 months.

If you didn't apply for it, I would strongly urge you to do it. You will be able to work, travel, and apply for a driver's license.

Your AOS can take up to a year to be processed. Being frustrated after 2 months is way too early...

Yeah, I already apply it.. it so good after I post that message, my EAD and AP arrived!!! so glad.. super happy that after I received it I travel directly to my sister for a vacation.. next month I will probably take a learners permit so I can drive and not stock in our house... LOL..

    Thanks for the response! :)

  6. Where here in Florida now by Fiancé Visa (K1) and Dependent Visa (K2) for my son. We already sent our application for our AOS last January 17, 2013, then they sent us a Notice of Action (NOA) a few days after that. Last February 12, 2013, We're done to our BIOMETRIC. What is so frustrating about it is, its been 1 month now since we've done our biometric and we have not receive any response yet. I'm stocked in our house now and cannot do anything. We cannot process my driver's license cause my visa already expired. I feel so down that I feel like im so alone even if I have my son at home. My husband only come one once a month for only 3 days then go back to work. I have no one to turn to when I need anything in the house, cause stores are far from our home. (Sorry, Just feel bad).

Just now, I called USCIS, and ask why I don't receive any response yet, she said that it takes up to 4 months. grrrrr....

my question is, after you do your biometric, how long does it take for USCIS to reply for your interview?

    Thanks :)

  7. hi guys,..

  9. This morning around 10Am, 2GO Courier text me "Your Passport will be delivered today. 2GO authorization letter and valid IDs are required if not around. Thank you".

after reading this, i am so happy and shock! i did not expect that they will delivered it to me in a short time. As what i have read on here, they said K1 and K2 will take 12 working days after my visa approved. But it only take 6 working day!

Thanks God It did not take long, and by now i am excited to my next trip to Cebu to do my counseling to the CFO.

This time, i need your help on what is the document required for k1 and k2 to do the CFO seminar? Is my 3 years old son exempted to the seminar? what is the nearest hotel to the CFO Office in Cebu?

Thank you guys for the help. I really appreciate it!

    God bless us all... :)

  10. Hi Guys, I have lots of questions now that we are preparing for the interview. I'm so happy that the you are always ready to help me overcome this long process.

my question is: Will I bring the Original NOA1 and NOA2 on the interview?

thank you so much and God bless us all.

No need,.. just bring with you the letter from the embassy, appointment confirmation and some other documents needed..

  11. Hi all,

First, thanks for all of the info people have been submitting here. I've used it extensively in preparing our visa petition. Here is where I need some educated assistance:

    Background:

    I-129F submitted March 2012

Fiance (K1) and 2 year old daughter (K2)

Ok, so I submitted the I-129F, and made sure that my fiance's daughter was listed. As far as her daughter is concerned, she doesn't know who the father is, and as such, no fathers name is on the birth certificate. I have two questions here.

    1) What will be the affect on the K2 Visa of not knowing who the father is?

    2) Will this affect the processing of the K1 Visa?

I wasn't giving this much thought until I recently brought it up and was told so many different stories, that I thought I had better bring it to this forum to get the straight answer. This is tying me in knots as I love her and her daughter so very much, and want to keep the process as uncomplicated as I can. Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

    hi

, i am also a single mother.. and i have a 3 years old son.. i already finish my interview for K1 and K2 and i am APPROVED! last May 17, 2012.

The consular will not ask who is the father of the child, they will just ask, where is the father? which i answered, " I don't see his father ever since he was born". that's it..

Here is the documents you need for k1 and k2:

    =====< K1 >=====

    1. DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157 ( two copies of this all)

    2. Passport

    3. 2X2 Pictures

    5. Pictures of you and your fiancee together when you visit her in the Philippines

    6. Remitances

    7. Your W2 (latest)

    8. Affidavit of support

    9. send your taxes (latest)

    10. Proof of payment ( receipt when you pay your application at BPI bank).

    11. NBI Clearance

    12. Certificate of no marriage (CENOMAR)

    =====< K2 >======

    1. DS-156, DS-157

  14. hi,

We are going to apply for K1 for me and of the same time k2 for my son. my son is in my paper work as k2, and follow-to-join.

and then, we dont apply it on separate paper which is I-130. We ask his attorney about this matter, and she said, as long as my son is in my paper work.. e will be noted as k2 and can join me to travel in US if an only i get approve for my k1.

Last March 16, i recieved my Case number from the embassy.

Last April 10, i pay my k1 visa application. We thought that the payment also for me and my son is only 1 cause we are in 1 document. thats why i get confuse, so i ask my fiance to call the embassy and then she said that we also pay for my son for his visa interview as k2.

So, Last April16, we pay for my son Visa application for k2.

after that, we scheduled our appointment thru online. which is May 17, 2012 ( which is so soon).

but after a few days, i do not hear any news from the embassy. So i ask my fiance again to call them, and the one who answered said that she will just send me an email application confirmation for my visa interview for me and my son and said that i will jut print it out.

i already have my Appointment confirmation they sent thru my email.

We already booked a flight and hotel in manila.

But still i'm confuse, cause they did not send me a packet thru mail box, but just an email and just print it out..

is it possible? does anyone experienced same as mine?

does anyone have not recieved a packet thru mail box? but just recieved an application confirmation from the embassy thru yahoo email??

  15. Tip number one. stop listening to the CBP people. They know little to nothing about immigration.

Your wife arrived on a k-1, if you married within the 90 days you are ok to file the I-485 along with other things (follow the guide) and adjust status for her even if the I-94 is expired. I don't know why they said to submit her paperwork at the infopass appointment as it has to be mailed to the Chicago lock box to be processed. I don't think they will accept it at the local office (maybe call and check?)

Sounds like maybe you didn't state the son would be a follow-to-join so the consulate put all the paperwork in one envelope thinking they would arrive together. Of course you would have no way of knowing this since you can't open the envelope.

Sounds like the only problem is tracking down the son's paperwork and I am willing to bet it is all in the one envelope but who knows where that ends up after entry. My best guess is try to get a copy of what was in the son's brown envelope sent from the consulate to the appropriate authority here in the US or else track down the original brown envelope and see if his paperwork is in it. How you could go about doing this I don't know but this is the main issue.

Despite this your wife is here with no status (after the I-94 expires)until you file for her to adjust status. Highly unlikely she will be deported. The son is in limbo until his paperwork is found, but this is not your nor your family's fault...The US government has messed up yet again.

  16. Hello my VJ friends!!!I just want to share with you my seminar experience at PRISM and CFO.

I attend seminar last thursday at PRISM which is located at Taft avenue,

the afternoon session start at 1:30pm it was only few people at that time.then,

the counselor start to discuss about other country cultures, immigration laws and so on

they have this packet for 150pesos it's like a Guide book, after the seminar

they call us one by one for interview with the counselor, they ask for my 2 valid ID, A photocopy of my Cenomar,NBI,Birth certificate, and my Fiance's copy of passport with stamp.

they ask my fiance's mother maiden name, the counselor will ask about it so take note of it.and some question were, how did you met?when and where?when did you met him in Person?where did he stay during he's visit here and for how long?he's education attainment

and he's job and so on...and also they ask pictures of us together during he's visit.

bring extra picture's with you for they will ask you to submit at least 2pcs. some

they ask at least 5pcs of pictures.they will include this in your file...

after the interview,We pay the counseling fee 250pesos.

they took picture of us for the Guidance @ Counseling Certificate

of Attendance.always check the spelling of your name, sometimes they type it wrong.

after that i went to Commission on Filipino Overseas(CFO)located at Osmena highway,

corner Quirino Ave.I took pedicab as driver know's where the CFO located at,pay for 30peso.

Be careful if you took taxi as they will roam you around just so you can pay more, anyway

the PRISM is not that far from CFO,when i get there the receptionist will

ask you to leave your valid ID and give you a visitor's pass.

it wasn't that much people so we get done really quick...

i submit the photocopy of my Guidance @Counseling Certificate of Attendance and pay 400pesos for the registration of CFO,they give me a Guidance and Counseling Certificate and i had

to return for my Sticker after i got my Visa hopefully... i hope this will give you a bit of information, and Good Luck on your seminar!!! God Bless...

hi, thanks for the information.. cause i really dont know what to do in CFO. i really thought i just go there and listen to what they said. LOL..

now i know they are going to interview me..

i was planning to go to CFO with my 3 year old son after i recieve my visa for K1 and K2.

last march 16, i recieved my case number from the embassy.

april 10, i pay my visa application for k1 and on april 16, i pay my son's visa application for k2.

after that, i scheduled my visa interview to the embassy on may 17 thru online schedule.

but im confuse why they have not send me a packet cause its few days past already (April 29), so i ask my fiance to call the manila embassy and the one who answer told him that they will just send an email for the appointment confirmation of schedule...

so now, i got the appointment confirmation of schedule for my visa interview and my son interview too,,

and then, my fiance is so eager to booked our flight to manila cause i am from iligan city. so he called again the manila embassy, and the one answered the call just said to print our the appointment confirmation he send and thats it. After that call, my fiance booked our flight and booked our hotel in La Corona, last april 25.

    Now, my question are,

    1. Is it enough that they will just send an appointment confirmation thru my email address? then print it out?

    2. What is inside the packet that the embassy send to you?

    3. Is it ok that we already booked our flight and hotel?

    4. About my son's case, is it ok if we just go to CFO cebu to do our seminar?

i guess, thats all for the questions for now.. i hope you can help me with these matter..

    thank you and GOd bless..
