  1. My fiancé was just approved!!! Over the moon happy right now, yet concerned as there is a hurricane headed his way as he is rushing to get home. I have his DHL tracking number- how long should it be before the DHL site even shows the package exists? Right now it just says "no results found for your tracking inquiry". What will it say first when it appears in the system? He also opted to have it delivered to his workplace in Ocho Rios. Has anyone else had it delivered to a business like that? I'm wondering if it'll slow down delivery.

Hope everyone is well and to everyone in Jamaica PLEASE STAY SAFE!

  2. My fiance had his immigration physical yesterday (the 11th) at Medical Associates Hospital- the majority of the experience went smoothly, however we ran into problems with his immunizations. He had obtained his immunizations at an outside clinic about 8 days ago (I had no idea) even though the medical form said if you don't already have your immunizations you need to get them at the medical appointment ONLY. The clinic that he went to for his original immunizations as a child/adult no longer had a copy of the original immunization card. My fiance was so conscerned about having an immunization card for the medical exam that he had the immunizations done then and there 8 days ago. (he thought having a card at the exam was mandatory). So yesterday at his physical, he showed his card and they informed him he should have waited and had it done there, that the embassy wouldn't recognize the shots he had just obtained. They told him he couldn't receive the same immunizations that day because it would be unhealthy to receive the same immunizations so close together in time. They instructed him to go to his interview on September 20th and explain the situation and that as long as the rest of the interview is approved, they should give him a "blue slip" to come back for a second, shorter interview with the medical packet after he obtains his immunizations at Medical Associates Hospital on October 1st (they already made him an appointment to receive the immunizations that day). Has anyone in our VJ family from Jamaica attended an interview without their medical packet or experienced the same problem with being immunized by the time of the interview? Thanks!

  3. My fiancé went to Andrew’s Memorial Hospital. Each facility might work a little bit differently. But he was told to come in and register between 10-11am. Then the appts were on a first come, first serve basis after registration. They schedule a bunch of people at the same time and do all of the visa people at one time. The medical exam fee is $9900 JMD. When I scheduled the appt for my fiancé, she didn’t tell me an amount for him to bring. She just told me how much the exam fee is and to bring extra in case he needs vaccinations. I had him fill out the medical history form and bring that with to the appt. To be on the safe side, I would have him be there by 730am then. The amount she quoted might just be an estimate in case he needs vaccinations, but I'm not sure how she came up with that figure.

Ok I'll tell him to try to be there at 730 if at all possible. Just sent him 22,000JA. Yikes! Lol we will have money to spare again someday hahaha. Thanks everybody!

  4. Thanks everyone- his exam is at Medical Associates Hospital. He doesn't have a specific appointment time-he was told to be there between 730 and 130. I thought people are supposed to be given a specific time but he says he plans on being there earlier rather than later. He was told over the phone to have 17,000 JA on him, but how did the person he spoke with know how much, when she hasn't seen his immunization card? My fiancé is pretty healthy and has never taken drugs but I worry about him being organized/prepared. Again, thanks for all the responses! :)

  5. My Jamaican fiancé received packet #4. The instruction checklist attached to the interview letter requested all the normal forms for a K1 visa applicant, except for the Affidavit of Support. I am under the impression that for K1 visa interviews the beneficiary needs the petitioner to submit to him/her an 1-134, which is what I have already given my fiancé. However the checklist we received asks for I-864. I looked up this form and it sounds as if it is intended for actual relatives, which we are not relatives until married. I have also read posts saying I-864 is required for AOS after marriage. Has anyone been required to submit the I-864 instead of the I-134? Or does this sound like the embassy sent the wrong checklist to my fiancé? Wondering if I should send the I-864 just to be safe but I can't send anything by mail until Tuesday and our interview will be only 16 days after that so I'm not sure my fiancé would receive it in time. I have emailed the embassy asking to clarify but may not here anything from them until midweek.

    Thanks!

  7. Call the NVC and give them your NOA2 receipt number- they should be able to tell you your case number again without problems. Good luck!

Hi all - we received our NOA2 on July 6 & sent the DS-230/etc back on July 10, prior to receiving the packet from the embassy (still haven't gotten it). Anyways, my question is - how do you know when it's been received by NVC? Do you need your case number, which I so brilliantly forgot to write down before sending the forms back in?! Or do you get a letter?

Can you call without the case number?

    Thanks :)
