  1. Hi, everyone!

Quick question. The police clearance that I submitted to the NVC is now more than a year old so, by the time my priority date becomes current, it will no longer be valid. Does this mean I have to get a new one when the visa interview is scheduled or will the interviewing officer accept the old document since that is the one I submitted to them?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  2. my PD is 28Jan11. case complete last month. now waiting to be current. hopinv for huge leap.

Just like you, my PD is Jan 2011, and I've paid the visa and AOS fees as well as submitted the required documents back in July. However, I haven't heard back from any agency -- no word from the USCIS, the NVC nor the US embassy in Manila since then -- so I'm not really sure if they even got the docs or if my case is complete. Did you get any kind of notice from the authorities to indicate that your case is complete? I haven't received anything so I'm a bit anxious.

Thanks, and maybe we'll bump into each other in the US. :)

  3. Thanks, guys. I appreciate your input. I'm feeling a little bit better. However, despite your encouraging comments, I continue to be apprehensive. You see, I am from the Philippines and I am under the impression that US immigration officers tend to be a bit more strict in allowing entry to Filipino visitors. So while some of you have said having a pending petition should not be a problem, I'm still not fully convinced. Are there any Pinoys out there who've been able to travel to the US while their petition is being processed? I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks, again.

  4. My wife, who is a green card holder, filed an I-130 on January 2011 so I can join her and our kids in the US permanently. The application has been approved and is currently with the National Visa Center, awaiting for a visa number to become available. We don't expect our priority date to become current until possibly the middle of next year (or perhaps later). My question is can I go visit my family in the US using my valid tourist visa while the petition is being processed? Please note that I have been to the US three times before within the past four years but this was before my wife filed the F2A petition. Does this increase my chances of being allowed entry into the country? I'd really appreciate any kind of input you may have on this issue. I just don't want to spend so much money on plane fair only to be sent back at the port of entry because of the pending petition. I hope to go this year while the kids are on their summer break. Thanks, guys.
