Wow, so many of you are on the fast track!! Lucky YOU!!!
I have drawn the 'slower than molasses' card.
I've checked the timeline stats, and it's likely I will get a bite in about two or three months.
So, please don't forget me as I limp along, dealing with one of the slowest USCIS offices in the country....
Don't worry... your case is not the slowest. My biometrics appt is only this Friday

You're welcome and nope. We will be calling Wednesday afternoon if still nothing by then.
Looks like we in the same boat here. Let us know how your conversation goes. Best of luck!

A friend of mine, in the same situation, sent the whole package at pretty much the same time and did the fingerprinting on the appointed date.
She's interviewing in the same office 45 minutes earlier, on the very same day.
My theory is that it might give you an edge at getting the EAD a bit earlier.
Congrats!!! That was fast! I am still waiting for the biometrics appointment
Don't know in which drawer they stuck my file and forgot about it
Hopefully someone will do some organizing/ cleaning in that drawer and will find it

I just got back from doing a walk-in biometrics in Fort Worth. It didn't go tremendously.
They almost wouldn't do it when they saw my appointment wasn't until the 23rd. The unpleasant man at the desk asked me who said I could come in early, to which I replied that my attorney advised me to try, and that I had seen people say online that they had done early walk-in appointments at other offices without issue.
If the office was busy I could have understood, but I was literally the only non-employee in the building. There were perhaps 50 chairs for people to wait and all of them were empty. He stood for about 10 seconds thinking about it, then had a detailed conversation with an older woman behind him (by which I mean they stared at each other for another 10 seconds) who eventually just shrugged, and that was all the assent he needed to leap into action.
I was only there perhaps 5 minutes, but he acted like not even both mortgaging my soul and selling my firstborn would be enough to repay him for the galaxy-sized favour he was bestowing upon me by doing it early.
I had trouble writing my signature on the little electronic pad as well, since it was directly against a wall to my right and I am left-handed. It came out a bit messed up and ordinarily I would have asked to do it again, but since I wasn't exactly with Mr. Sunshine I just thought "screw it" and it will have to do.
I guess the moral of the story is, while you can do early walk-in biometrics in Fort Worth, you might want to bring a bar of gold or some precious stones in order to repay them for the enormous service they will do for you by doing it early.
Well, look at the bright side... the bottom line is that you did it!!!
And my mail man still did not deliver my biometrics notice (simply because USCIS did not produce one for me yet), and I still don't have any updates
-
Did you receive confirmation that the package was delivered? What about online updates? Did you sign up for those?
I received confirmation in the mail on Friday, and signed up for text/ e-mail confirmation right away
but none of updates are coming yet
I am short on patience, but will have to change when dealing with USCIS

Tomorrow 2 weeks since I sent the package. No updates, no biometrics yet
I know I should be ready to wait, but its soooooo difficult

Dear VJ's
i would like to share with you my interview experience in Baltimore. I had my interview last April 24, 2011 at 11:30am. We arrived at the immigration office at 10:30am. our names were called almost 11:45. thanks God that the officer was very friendly. when he called my name he looked directly to my husband seemed like they knew each other. i was wondering why the officer recognized my husband right away. anyway, he brought us in his office and before he let us to sit we take an oath first. then we sat down and i was very nervous my hand was shaking. i could not even sign the paper that he gave us. in the interview process, the officer asked where was our lawyer and my husband answered the lawyer was a sore subject. the officer told us that my documents looked great no problems at all. the IO asked if there are any new information added to our application, i said my new I20 because i moved from the other school to the other school which is near to my husband's house. he said Okay...
then, the officer asked my husband like:
Where we meet each other?
where was the place on our first date?
when is my birthday?
where i was born?
when we got married?
Did he talked to my parents often?
what are the names of my parents?
After he asked my husband, he asked me about my husband almost the same questions. he also asked me the part in form 485 where is say's have you ever something which is the answers are all No. i know all the answers of that part was No, but i asked the IO to repeat it for me just to him know that i was listening to him.
All in all the interview was fine. i was just stressing out myself for nothing. the officer was friendly that made me comfortable to talk to him. my husband and him where talking about tubing coz he saw our picture went tubing.
after he asked all the question he wants, he asked me if we do have documents that have our both names on it. so i gave bank statements, lease, health insurance, and car insurance. then The IO said, we were all set and i have nothing to worry my documents looks great but he did not approve me right away coz he needs to send it to their supervisor for approval.
Today, April 26, at 6:30 i recieved text from USCIS that they order my card. God be the glory, i am approve.
To all who are still applying for AOS don't worry to much like i did for nothing. You don't have to worry as long as your marriage is true and complete the documents they need.
Congrats on your approval!!! Did you have your interview this or last year? You said last April, 2011, I hope you did not have to wait for approval for a year

Just wonder where do papers "travel" from Chicago office? What is the entire process from there to our local office?

Thank you so much, same to u... but as you saw that the checks are on pending , that means that you are in a good shape, btw, they don't go to the bank lol coz they have an electronic system that they withdraw money from Bank accounts, e-check.if you filed G-1145 you r gonna receive texts and emails before the hard copies, that's usually 3-4 days before you receive the hard copy of NOA in the mail
My husband said about the same, that they did not run to the bank as soon as they got my checks :)By the way today it's shows that checks cashed on 04/25. I did not sign up for electronic notification, and still did not receive anything in the mail. Hopefully its on the way
Thanks for support! Its a great site and nice people

I think you will receive them anytime this week. Don't worry
I hope so
It has been moving well for you! Hope it will continue this way
By the way I just checked online banking (I have been doing this few times every day like crazy
and it shows "pending" on checks. I guess they took our checks to the bank this afternoon, so hopefully receipts will be coming soon along with biometrics.

We are among the April filers as well. Our package was mailed on April 18. Still nothing, checks aren't cashed neither

Forgive me for gasping but what went wrong? Did you bully the USCIS officers kid? Lol. Anyway. Even you will eventually be added to the list of interviews and Eads. I wish you to be encouraged. slowly but surely wins the race. So did you take up knitting?
