  1. 1) Does your fiance / husband have insurance? If he does you should be able to be added to his.

2)If you get a job, a lot of the time it will come with medical.

    3) there are interim health insurance options for new immigrants ( just Google and a bunch should come up)

    1. Avoid preganancy until you have insurance. You know how.

    2. Try through your husband's employment to get insurance, he should be able to add you.

    3. Check with your state. Vermont has an insurance plan for ALL people if they are not eligible through some other source. It is NOT welfare, it is called "Catamount Blue Full Premium" and is quite reasonably priced. Not all states have this, some are waiting for the Federal government to provide healthcare...good luck.

    4. Move to Vermont

    5. What did your husband find when he was checking on this while waiting for you to arrive?

My husband has his insurance which is United Health Care which will not cover me, until I get my greencard or at least reside in the US for a year.

That's why I need to get an individual plan for me. Fortunately due to my persistent research... I came across with the health insurance that will cover it, blue cross.

I just talked to the agent, and I can add maternity as a rider which is pretty much more pricey, but we will get it.

Thank you for the reply, very much appreciated. :-)

  3. Hi, I'm a pending AOS approval. Filed I-485 April 19, 2012. Presently I have no health insurance and most of the health insurance I have search and called were saying, I need to at least reside in the US for a minimum of 12 mos. I am worried of having no health insurance. I want an insurance that will also cover future pregnancy related concern. Hospitalization and emergency room management. Any suggestion?
