  1. If there is anyone in the Twin Cities area in need of immigration consultation, I can recommend a great lawyer who charges $30 for a consult! She'll answer all your questions. She is very experienced. Also, I am not a paid advertiser, lol. Lmk if you're in my area and need expert advice y'all. We have used her throughout my husband's 5 year process, and will probably consult with her regarding options for other family members as well. She knows her stuff. :)

  2. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

  3. Ok, so, anyone with their significant other in Saudi, or who themselves are in Saudi, keep in mind that you might want to take a day off of work or at least half a day to do your medicals and get the police report initiated. Umar was running all over the city to get stuff done, and Riyadh isn't exactly tiny, lol. Just an FYI and suggestion! Take it with a grain of salt!

Yup. Went thru the same. So I posted detailed instructions to save time for others.

  4. In a nutshell, he might want to try and dedicate a whole day or even just half a day to get stuff done, because he might be sent to more than one location to get things done. Blech! Lame! Haha.

  5. Hey you! So, not sure if Mo'az will come across this, but Umar had to run around Riyadh like a chicken with its head cut off to get the police report and his medical stuff, because some hospitals won't offer all of the vaccinations (he had to go to a totally different clinic for the MMR vaccine), and plus, people told him different hours that they were open, so he was getting mixed...

  6. Hello brother, thank you for the wishes, best of luck to you and your fiancée's process also! I think that, with patience, prayer, and making sure to triple check all instructions and requirements, everything should go fine. If you have any questions about how our process is going, please feel free to ask! I will respond to any personal messages/posts on my profile :-) .

  7. Fiancé has his physical in a coupe of days! He got his police report! Things are moving! :-D

So happy for you, Jenna! Consulate received your info quickly! Keep in touch with me & let me know how the rest goes... & especially how things are with the interview! Mo'az & I want details! :D

  8. Hey Salam, any new news, my dear VJ buddy?

  9. I just received our NOA2!!! Awwwww yeeeeeah... *does the "I-want-to-be-happy-but-can't-be-quite-yet-because-there's-still-more-to-go" dance :-P

  10. P.s. the RFE letter gives specific examples in it, so it makes it much easier to find things to send. NOT SAYING YOU'LL GET IT...but just in case :-) . Always Good to be as prepared as possible for these unpredictable things, right?

  11. Insh'Allah you won't get it. But if you do, it isn't necessarily a reason to worry :-) . Just a small bump. Thank you for the resource, I will look into it and pass it on to the fiancé!

  12. Hey! For the RFe, we originally sent in some pictures that were time stamped, a funeral program where he was the pall bearer (it was for my father), and emails. I think you should be fine, but IF you get an RFE for the same thing, try to get anything that could be considered "official", where itis a traceable document (such as boarding passes, tickets, passports, notarized letter...

  13. Hey sorry, last post on your profile for now, I swear! I noticed in a discussion you started that you read up on a study done about wanting to change the system on confiscating passports in Saudi? My fiancé is an expat also, he was born and raised in KSA, but has Pakistani citizenship. If you could send me that study, I would über appreciate it! Shukran :-)

  14. Btw my fiancé's employer in saudi requires that they hold his passport too, makes it a little difficult :-( . Grrrr,

  15. Heyyyy! So, our RFE was indeed for more proof that we met in person. It turned out that we only sent in what they consider "secondary" proof, as opposed to primary proof (e.g. School transcripts since we met in college, boarding passes, his student visa, etc.). P.s. I love how you call it the DISservice center, lol. I might steal that one from you, if you don't mind ;-)

  16. Arrrrrrrrrrghhhh...can't take it...why can't we just get MARRIED already????! Rawr.

  17. Hey salam, just checking in to see how the process is going for you? I received an RFE in the mail, just mailed in more evidence today, inshAllah everything works out fine!

  18. Just sent in evidence in response to an RFE received in the mail; does anyone know if a lot of information should be sent about me, the petitioner (this is for form I-129f)? Most of the documents sent were more concerning my fiance, proving he entered the country (e.g. a color copy of his student visa) and other documents.

But I included both of our official transcripts from college (where we met), as well as a copy of the University Commencement Program (with both names highlighted). Thoughts?
