  1. My advice would be: send everything that can make it clear for USCIS agents. Do not do like me, that for rushing in sending the package as soon as possible, did not have the patience to wait till we have my now hubby divorce certificate. The RFE delayed the whole process like for one and half month. Try to make your file the more complete and accurate you can. This process is easy but tiresome and the agents do stop for silly things as errors in transcriptions of your info or confussion with names or even when they do not read the documents entirely (all of them have happenned to me: just to give you and idea: we got a RFE in the AOS process because the agent did not read completely my hubby job letter and thought he did not have the minimum annual income... two more months of delay!!) So, be proactive and include every piece of document that can make your situation clear. Good luck!!

  2. Thank you guys for your feedback. Today I noticed the Embassy gave kind of instructions and it says I need to travel with my RX films in the carry-on luggage... I do not see a Custom officer checking that out because they are not doctors after all! Anyways, I will keep it with me.

  3. Dear all, I finally got the k1 Visa and the picture of my lungs is on a CD which nobody can read. Is someone here who had that situation? How did you guys do it?? Do I need a hardcopy picture? I live on a island where those kind of hardcopies are not in use anymore. Anyone going to Miame as POE with Lung pictures CD?

Thanks and the best of luck for all of you!!!

  4. The thing is as follows: The apostille "certifies" documents one country issues to be valid in other country. Meaning, that documents should be apostilled in China in the case China is part of La Haya Convention. I googled it and it seems China is not. (please double check). If that is the case, it is not a problem. You should follow the standard procedure for legalization of documents to be file abroad. Best thing to do is pay a visit to Chinesse Embassy in Caracas because they know how to deal with it. Some times the Embassy as an authority of the original country (in this case China) can legalize the documents. But again, I do know the Embassy requires birth certifies apostilled. For the other documents you mention, you need to review the instruction letter they will send you with the interview date. Also, there is a copy of that letter in this porta, under Consulate information or something. Let me know if you find it because I should have it somewhere.

  5. Hi! I have a similar situation having documents issued in Venezuela, Colombia and Curacao. What I did was I asked the Embassy in advance, like how to do it with my Venezuelan divorce decree, in which case I only will need a certificated copies from the Venezuelan Court. They replied timely and clearly stated that with court certified copies will be enough. I will print out that email and bring it with me to the interview, in case of further questions. With the criminal records from Curacao, they do not require any legalization and apostillebut I did it anyway, in Curacao, since the document looks to me too simple. Also, the letter with instructions they send you, will specify which documents need to be legalized and apostilled, being namely the birth certificate, which I had to apostille in Colombia (where I was born). So, my advice would be if you have doubts, send an email to the Embassy asking espeficially about the documents. I hope this can help you.

  6. we want a stress free wedding too !! my fiance doesnt want a county court house wedding because she says its not a place to get married at coz its alongside people waiting for a court appearance ? or something like that ! it seems they dont have register offices ? my fiance explained about the court house and the county court sounds like a register office in south yorks anyway  ! so reading comments here are inspiring,we have a choice of colarado (her sisters) or Maryland where we will live  i suggested vegas but the reaction was.....! i dont know why i even mentioned vegas ? it was just an idea i wasnt thinking of me as elvis and sand as superwoman ? it wouldnt go down well with me mum anyway ! oh and she has so far bought 4 pairs of shoes ,one for each season i think ? and its all vermonts fault!! if this takes any longer we will open a shoe shop........

Do you guys live in Maryland!!!! I will live in Joppa, closed to Baltimore. I wonder how can I get a judge like Azsara did, because I also want to get married out of the court house and I do not have too much time to book an officiant. Which are really expensive by the way!! Any tips?

  7. I understand your feelings. I had the same problem before my NOA2 arrived. We had a very possitive experience but a few issues (not serious at all) but every of them made us waste one or two weeks to be solved. Since NVC was unable to read my bday (which was in every single form plus my passport) till Venezuelan Embassy did not know they had to give me my interview date.(hello!?!) So, we ended up waiting 8 months before we had the email with the interview date PLUS NINE weeks between that glorius moment and the actual interview which will be in April 24. So, my advice is: take it easy and better focus in gathering your documents and be extra prepared for any issue. Gather extra proofs of everything and get as much as information you can about the process. Good luck!!

  8. Hello!! I am just preparing this form. The question # 32 says: in what occupation do you intend to work in the USA. I am a Venezuelan lawyer and I do know I will not be able to work as such before I follow certain courses. If I write down like: any available, it may sound inconvenient??! The example form here in VJ skyped it. What did you guys write down? I do not want to screw it up, saying too much or too little. Actually I do want to work but not immediately and I have experience in financial institutions as account manager. I want to take time to share with my future hubby and get used to the system before... Any help is very appreciated. :help: Thanks!!

  9. Hello!

What a great idea to start this forum. I am Andrea's friend. At the beginning of my process I called USCIS to find out where my interview would be, considering I am living in Curacao (I am the fiancee). After confirming it would be in Caracas, they said I should receive the passport the very next day. I also applied in Caracas for my current tourist visa and it was like that. Anybody knows whether once we receive the date of the interview by email, do we have to confirm the notification? Good luck everybody!!

  10. Hello! Sorry to ask: How much is the age difference? That could be a red flag, if it is like 25 years difference. In any case, please check whether you guys are legaly able to marry each other at the current moment, if you have proofs of those visits as first step. Then you guys will need to prove an ongoing relationship and that you are able to support him in USA. It is a rough overview. Follow the guidelines in this site. Good luck!!

  11. Do not get discourage!! It wont take too much to solve it. We got our RFE in Dec 19 and counting the holidays, we got our NOA2 at hands by Jan 14!!. Think everything happens for a good reason and time goes by very fast!! Read the instructions carefully and you guys will be fine. The good thing about RFE is they are a confirmation the rest of the documents are perfect!! don't you think so? Good luck!!

  12. My case was: We did not get a RFE for bdates, but for a divorce decree certification. Our file reached NVC and then, they realized the bdates was unreadable in the copy passport (they send a scanned version to NVC it seems). Any time we tried to get a status of our case in NVC they denied to provide ANY information, because of the discrepancy. We sent an email with a clear PDF copy of my passport and they put an electronic note in our file and sent it to the Embassy, the next day we sent it. So, if the bdates do not match you will have problems getting info from NVC as when they sends the file to the respective Embassy. So, my advice is try to correct it ASAP or wait the RFE. It wont take too much. Good luck!

  13. I called (yes the beneficiary!!) NVC to ask my file number. They said they do have my case but it has a wrong birth date for the beneficiary . I need to send them a copy of my passport and it will be fixed within two weeks. Does someone have a similar problem??! I double and triple checked all the forms we sent and we did wrote the right bdate. I am sooo disappointed!! More waits and waits!! :crying:

  14. I agree with the lawyer: USCIS is asking more evidence indeed: You did not

submit required evidence to establish the france relationship with the beneficiary, Mark ********. USCIS

acknowledges receipt of your proof` of meeting within the two year period prior lo the petition and divorce decree

ofthe beneÍ`1eiary's prior spouse. In addition, USCIS acknowledges receipt of your proof of U.S, Citizenship, photos, and

Form G-325A (Biographie Information sheet) for both you and the beneficiary; however, you did not submit statements

regarding your intent to marry. Therefore, additional evidence is needed.

If I were you I would send the letter and whatever proof of the intentions to get married.
