  1. I sent off my AOS, EAD and AP applications last Tuesday (19th June) with G-1145 attached. I sent it to the Chicago lockbox and got a certificate of postage via USPS. I haven't yet had any confirmation by text or email that it's been received.

Just wondering whether this is normal, and if/when I should give them a call. When we sent off the I-129f, the text and email notifications were really prompt! Is it likely that the Chicago office just moves a bit slower?

    Thanks.

  2. I'm applying for K1 but lived in Ireland 2007-2011. I did need a garda certificate as well as one from the UK. The application process is simple enough, and it actually came quicker than the UK one. The only issue I had was having to provide a stamped address envelope with correct postage FROM Ireland to my UK address - some local friends came in handy there!

NB the Irish cert looks a lot less official than the UK one! More or less a word print out...

    Hope it goes well.

  3. I had my interview on Wednesday. They asked for the I-134, but didn't exactly scrutinise it! I'd attached one document for each money category, eg letter of employment, most recent payslip, statement of savings, life insurance policy. Didn't seem to be a problem. I think the really detailed financial stuff comes with the I-184 during AOS. Good luck!

PS Do make sure it's signed by your fiance though. I nearly came home from visiting him without his signature and that could have been hairy!

Sorry, I'm an idiot - I meant I864 with the AOS!

    Too many numbers!!

  5. Hi everyone,

I think I would have lost all grip on sanity through this process if it wasn't for visajourney....! Thanks for your help so far.

I'm trying to get ready for my interview at the London embassy - we haven't received Packet 3 yet, but I've read that the forms can be sent off before it arrives, as long as we have a case number (my fiance is tracking that down now).

All the other forms on http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html are downloadable PDFs, but DS156 has to be filled in online before you can print it. After filling in the form, when I click "continue" it goes to a warning screen claiming there is a "corrupted content error" and loses the form.

    I've found a PDF version at http://www.state.gov/m/a/dir/forms/visa/index.htm.

My question is whether any other users have had a similar problem, and whether the printable PDF version will be acceptable. The questions are the same, but I don't want to use an out-of-date or "unsuitable" form.

    Thanks! Rosy
