  1. Many men don't even consider additional marriages.

cause it means more mother in laws :P

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Also means, since all wives are to be treated EQUALLY, that he has to buy the same things for each one . . . house for 1st wife, house for 2nd wife, new california king for 1st wife, oops, 2nd wife gets a california king too!!! You get the drift . . . it isn't double your pleasure, double your fun . . . it is double trouble!!!:yes:

It's very telling that you use the examples of material possessions required to "treat wives equally", as opposed to the emotional aspects of a marriage that are truly impossible to replicate, thus making the requirements for a man desiring multiple marriages completely out of reach. In light of that, it like totally makes sense to yammer on about material possessions, for sure. Right on!

Ah, well, I was trying to reply to Charles' humorous comment regardin 2 mother-in-laws in a humorous vein . . .i.e. the material aspect of treating each wife equally.

BUT, you are perfectly correct . . . the emotional AND physical aspects of treating two wives equally would be impossible for 99.99% of men . . . it is hard enough when there is only one wife!

AND nothing "telling" about my comments in regards to "material possessions" . . . just trying to be funny is all!

  3. Seems like a typical day in ME/NA with the latest thread to be hijacked being that quickly lengthening thread!!

Good thing that I don't know anything regarding any topic here anymore!! I have to check my "opinion" at the door. :innocent:

As for me . . . lots of work to do and the skies are grey . . . more rain!!! good for the water table, bad for driving thru rush hour.

Nothing else to report on the DFW front . . . . :crying:

  4. hi everybody

i think im lucky i and my wife stayed in egypt more than 6 months

but do u think it s really better to file from here?

and we inteded to work and live in ksa so we dont know what we should do?

Did you get married in Egypt?? If you do a DCF, I would think that you have to file in the country where you got married. At least that's how it works on the K-3 . . . the papers are sent to the consulate in the country where you got married and that is where the interview is conducted.

I'd check with the consulate in Cairo whether you can even do a DCF there.

  5. If ignoring reality makes you happy, you've got plenty of that too, so, be happy!

I have never liked that stupid expression "don't worry, be happy" because it has nothing to do with reality.

Of course, I am a cynic . . . and a realist . . . and occasionally even an optimist. :innocent: I cherish my moments of happiness as precious jewels when I get them . . . and I am still growing those moments!!!

  6. Sun is shining and I am stuck inside since I have a bunch of docs due for my project plus construction of the framework for all the files that I am responsible for publishing. They are really compressing our timelines for this project. Heheheh, Hurry up and wait always is the name of the game. Better to be busy than NOT!!!

  7. Well, not having a gas stove at home, I've found that it works just fine to warm them up in the microwave. I put a container with some water in there to keep them from getting hard . . . they get hard because all the moisture gets sucks out of them. Alternatively, you can put them between wet paper towels! I soften up lots of things in the microwave by using water.

On the other hand, I needed bread crumbs for a recipe the other night . . . heheheh, the first time I ever tried drying some bread to quickly made the crumbs and it didn't exactly work out like I planned! Hopefully, the next time I will remember to leave the bread out sooner to dry it or buy some!

  8. I don't know . . . seems like it is NOT an opinion but calling names when someone says "Gross, Abnormal, Sick" . . . . I don't care who it is or is NOT referring too . . . and that is MY opinion.

And I guess now it is time for me to run away . . . because I think I am going to be SICK due to all the "Gross, Abnormal" comments that have been made today.

  9. Ladies. Ladies. Ladies.

Can we please get off the "your red flag is bigger than my red flag" and "Americans are _______ while Arabs are _______" and "I bet your husband is going to leave you because of ________" crapola, and get back to useful discussion ?

We were talking about how the CONSULATES view relationships, and what THEY consider red flags to be scrutinized closely, and what THEY view as indicators of fraudulent (or "invalid") relationship. All this stuff about age and religion and money and ethnicity and weight and beauty and education and on and on and on -- well they can certainly be important factors -- they are all pieces of the big puzzle -- but no one thing *necessarily* trumps the other.

Everyone can make an important contribution withOUT stooping to personal attacks via insulting remarks about others based on *generalizations* and *speculation.* You know -- as far as immigration goes, it doesn't even matter what WE think is a red flag -- it matters what the consulate thinks. So let us please turn this discussion back to how consulates look at cases, and how they put together those pieces of the puzzle to decide whether a case is legit or not.

I do enjoy the entertainment  but I hate to see the potential value of this discussion go down the tubes in an endless flame war.

Thank you, MK!! I was just thinking the same thing but didn't have the wherewithall to write up this post. I felt there was a quite meaningful discussion before it got a bit off topic. And I think some valid points were made, but I won't go back to find them. It doesn't do any of us any good to continually go back and harp on points of dissension anyway . . . and continually harp on them. My head was spinning and frankly I find all of this to be depressing and I don't need anything more to make me depressed.
