Hi VJers,
I'd like to ask something.. I got here in the US for almost a month already and haven't received my SSN yet. I have applied for it along with my visa application. Any one here who had the same thing as mine? Any inputs will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Our POE was Los Angeles on Nov 17; both my wife and son's cards were automatically mailed on Nov 27 and in our mailbox on Dec.1st. We were also CR1/CR2 visa. But if you don't receive them by a month, I'd call the nearest office to inquire.

Hi there,
I just received the hard copies of NO2 for my wife and kids from I-130 individually.
1) Mind to give me some links to follow or suggestions on what to do next?
2) What are the requirements that my wife and kids need to prepare aside from Police (NBI) clearance?
3) Can I start doing the email route for NVC? When and how can I start?
4) Normally how many months from NOA2 to Interview schedule?
5) It's better if I will be the agent right?
Thanks
After 10 days start calling NVC everyday for a case number for each; if children are 16 yo or older they need an NBI; you'll need an NSO birth certificate for each; NSO Marriage Certificate; Yes make ready the paper DS 3032 one for each, yes its better if you are the agent...and also type up an email form DS 3032 from the wiki link above, for each child and wife, when you get your case number insert it into the subject line as shown in the email form, and email them all to NVC and also mail the hard copies the same time; you may not ever get a reply, or just receive an email like I did to forward the AOS docs then and pay the bill. From NOA2 to interview, prob about 3 months or so; about 5-6 weeks after NVC case complete. See James Shortcuts or the links for NVC (above in Wiki link) has most requirements there.

I finally turned in my aos and iv packet together this past saturday. I'm wondering how long more do I have to wait to get an approval/interview date...
Probably about 11-14 days after they receive the packet at NVC; then from the date of case complete, about 5-6 weeks for an interview date; however, Thanksgiving holidays Nov 22-25 not much will happen probably; hopefully you'll get an interview before Christmas, or the Christmas/New Years might slow it down if not by then. good luck, hope it happens sooner than later...but you're almost there!!

Hi
I have just received NOA2 approval
I read that I should call NVC immediately... There was no automated response line as
was suggested in my reading.. I did speak to a rep who told me I should wait 15 days to
call again since it was not in their system
So is there any value in trying sooner than that as suggested by a post at visa journey
Thanks for listening
Walt
It took about 14-15 days on both my petitions to get our case numbers; I'd wait til about day 10, then call everyday.

How long does it typically take to receive an approved visa from the embassy? My fiance lives in Fairview area of Quezon City.
Our interview was Nov 6, and it still hasn't even left the Embassy, as of yesterday, nov.12
-
hi, my interview schedule will be in first week of December,2012. My question is .. how many days or weeks should i can i expect for the visa to be delivered?
thanks
We had our interview Nov 6. Seems the Embassy is in no hurry to process visas after that point. Nov 12, we spoke to a person there, and they still have not even been printed; but once they are, they are/might be?? forwarded to the 2GO company. The closer you are to Manila, the better/quicker you'll receive it. Some received them 3 days after the interview, at Mall of Asia, if they processed them. We are still looking at the end of this week at least...Nov 16 ?
and will be delivered to Cebu. Tracking number still says INVALID when we search for it. :-(

Well, it finally happened. We had our interview, and then the plane ride, and we're all here together finally!
The plane ride was terrible. First, the hurricane Sandy delayed our flight, so I had to stay an extra few days in Moscow, but we got on the airplane, with an 11 month old infant, and she is not having a good time at all. She vomits all over me, and we don't have a change of clothes for her or me. We got to NYC and they delayed us in that CBP room (customs and border protection) and had us wait an hour or two for no reason other than to get her signature and fingerprint. Which made us late for the next flight, but luckily there was an Aeroflot expeditor there, who guided us to the right location and made sure we checked our bags and everything. Still, we had to run to the other terminal just to avoid missing the flight. To top it all off we were all three sick with sniffles and sore throats, and neither of us had any sleep.
But, we made it, it's been a nice and relaxing week. Now we are preparing to go to thanksgiving.
My wife has already asked me: "Are Americans aliens?"
Sounds like a funny movie now!! Welcome to America and enjoy the Holidays together! Yes some here are Aliens!!

we are living abroad together,i guess the mail goes to usc address.can't it be activated online ? so we could print it and send our Aos package at once
Yes once you can log in, just print the receipt and bar coded sheet out, put it on top of your docs, and get it in the mail!! Waiting on the snail mail will take forever!

Age gap would be no problem. Just her age, she'll need to acquire her guardians, or whoever her relatives are for consent to marry. You should be able to google it up, good luck.
-
Yes, aka is for any different names you may have used; so if only one name, that is all your NBI needs to show then.
Good luck!

Congratulations!!

Hi, does anyone know of an agent that ships balikbayan boxes from Columbus, Ohio?
DHL works with LBC if there isn't a local LBC affiliate in your area. DHL will get it to Phs and LBC finishes delivery.

Can please someone explain to me why fiance visa is way more faster than spouse visa? It seems like fiance visa can get their interview schedule after they got their Manila case#. Do spouse visa really need to complete the NVC stage for us to get our interview date schedule? I'm on my NVC stage and I have my case # already. But I guess we still need to go through some process just for me to get an interview date.
I just wish that i'll be able spend Christmas with my husband!
:(
From the date of case complete, the interview is USUALLY...about 6 weeks after that date.

Hi!
We'll be filing for the I-130 as soon as possible, or - my husband will file one for me, and one for my daughter. It's not entirely clear to me what we need to do for my daughter? She's 4.
Also, he's living with me in Sweden, how do we do it with the affidavit? Since he doesn't have a job in the States?
Thank you!
You will also need to put a birth certificate in with the childs package or you'll get an RFE like I did......see sec. 8 I think it is in the instructions on how to file for a Step Child.....

So, she was so nervous that she had a small vomit in the hotel room the night before interview.(She will kill me for mentioning that
).
Anyway, we spent SO MUCH time, money, and effort preparing all supporting evidence, chat logs, phone records, pictures, documents, etc....($300+ to send all that to her), they asked for NONE of that.
But, they did ask to see 1 document that is NOT listed as a requirement for interview. I will get to that one later.
They asked her only 3 questions. 1) "Who is your petitioner"? Reply: My husband, Thomas P______ J_______.
2) "You have a son"? Reply: Yes
3) "Oh? You were married before? Reply: No
This is where all you IR-1/CR-1 applicants who have a child will want to listen.
Interviewer: "You will need to go apply for your "CEMAR" to show that you have never been married before".
My wife: "Oh, I have that already"
...the interview had a look of surprise on her face.
Interviewer: "Ok then, your APPROVED!
My wife said thank you to VJ....that CEMAR was her "Saving Grace"! APPROVED!!!
Did they ask for CEMAR or CENOMAR ?? and did she have both with her??

I just need a help on this:
I read from the flow chart that the embassy sends documents to the beneficiary with a date of interview already. But why is that others here in VJ says that you have to ask your manila case # and call the embassy to schedule an interview??
i am also confuse about the documents that the benificiary will receive, its says in flowchart here that the benificiary must complete the list and send some docs back to the embassy and bring other docs when going to interview, BUT Some here did not receive any documents..
I am really confuse.. My NOA2 is oct 3... And i dont know what to do next..
What type of petition are you using... I-129f (K1) or I-130 Married. There is a difference in the procedures, and I don't see yours listed on your profile info.

Hello,
Was hoping someone can shed some light on the issue. We sent in the DS-230 with all documents to the NVC by carrier. Tracking shows it was delivered on 27 of Sept 2012. I called the help line on 4 of Oct and the operator said they are still waiting for the DS-230 and documents.
Does this mean the DS-230 may be lost? or Can it take longer than a week for them to update their system?
Thanks Very Much
Took ours about 12 days; 12-15 is normal from the timelines I've looked at....its probably coming! Just keep calling each day!
-
Congratulations!! Are you staying in tonight? :-))

It definetly isn't to make money, as the price is the same for the medical whether you have confirmed vaccinations or not. Its not a big deal to have them again, or health risks.
If vaccines are needed its inclusive of the price.
-
If you returned the information they needed, probably about 12-15 days for approval. I received a text message only, and then the written letter came in the mail a few days letter of approval.
-
Thank You.
Filipinalover21, why haven't you filled in your timeline, or inserted what type visa you have applied for, or put any pictures on your page????
Are you asking these questions about something you "thought" you heard about, or wondering why your Ex girlfriend is moving on? How many people have you friended on VJ?? Hmmmm???
FYI...none of the things you've been asking about or telling people are true....and, IT WON'T MATTER........

Thanks for this!
Wow! That's great news. I hope i'll be with my wife too in time for Thanksgiving. Good luck with your journey!
From most cases I've seen, from NVC case complete to Interview is close to 6 wks. Good Luck.
How long for welcome letter and green card?
