  1. Hello everyone, lots of good info on this website. I am the sponsor and my mother is the co sponsor for my husband. His interview date is april7. Now my mother has filed all her taxes , makes more than enough and has enough assets to be the sponsor. I have lived with my husband in his hime country for the past 4 year. I worked only part time and made about 9000 a year. I was not aware i had to file taxes. We have sent in all the paperwork and there is no checklist. Now people are telling me they will ask him at the interview where are my taxes. Sure i can backfile and i will do that but who knows how long it will take. If everything else is perfect, he is covered financially, is there any chance they can deny him the visa because i never filed taxes???? Again, we never got a checklist for that

  2. Has NVC lost any of your papers? I just called, the lady on the line told me everything I sent is has been reviewed but I still need to send in the police clearance, which I already did, copy of the original and translation . She said ok then she will check with the supervisor and they will get back to me via email. We have been waiting for so long and now this? just that one paper left that I already sent it with the last package?! Has this ever happened to anyone?

  3. I am a USC and petioning for my husband. We sent the I-130 in May and are still waiting for a case complete. I was living in Croatia the past few years with my husband and we sent all the paperwork from Croatia. Now I moved to the US at the beginning of November. Should I inform NVC of this? Change my address? My husband is still in Croatia at that address so he is receiving the mail.

  4. Hello all! I see there is some great advice on this forum so I have a question! NVC has sent me an email on Nov.12th saying that they have received my documents and please allow 60 days for processing, etc. When actually i have not sent in any documents since September, my last package, and that was received on October 1st (got that email also). Now I am very confused what documents they could have received when I didn't send anything?? I did make the IV payment on Nov. 12 and it is PAID but that has nothing to do with documents. Has this ever happened to anyone? I do not want this to delay the process as I am just waiting for a case complete to finally be with my husband. I am trying to call NVC now..always busy..

  5. Hello! love this forum lots of great information! I send the I-130 for my husband about a month a ago and have gotten the NOA 1.Now I have a question.. The first payment of 420$ was made via check send by mail with the package. Is it true that the rest of the payments can be made directly online from a bank account or credit card when the time comes..or will I need to send a few more checks?

  6. Thank you for those quick responses, great help! Yes we have already done the consular of birth report and my child has US citizenship through me. My parents live in the USA and I lived there for 10 years. We would be living with them and they will be cosponsor as I just have a part-time job now..will be looking for permanent job when I enter the US. About this proving domicile..what is required to do that? proof of working there?

  7. Hello everyone! I have read this forum for the past few days and have learned a lot. I still have not started the process for my husband but we will in the next few months. . So I am the USC. I am also a citizen of Croatia(was born here) and we live together in Croatia for 5 years already..married last year and have 1 child. Now we want to move to the USA. I have a lot of questions but I'll start with my first. Do we have to be separated throughtout the process? I wanted to go to the US in a few months with my child and then my husband to come soon. I do not know if this is possible.. I see that it is very unlikely that he can come on a tourist vist if they see that he is in the process of getting a green card? we are just worried about the separation especially because of our baby. If anyone has had a similar situation please any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
