  1. Moved to regional as its asking about specific questions to India interviews not K-1 process/procedure questions.

Hi - Not sure about I-134, because I had my form notarized. Can you do that instead of having your lawyer sign the form?

My fiance was not asked "why we are getting married in the U.S. and not India", but I heard it was a popular question. Keep it about the two of and simple tell you fiance to say that his/her's fiance's family is in India and would be too hard for all of them to India for the wedding. Or simply say that the fiance does want to get married in the India. My advise is - Don't make the answers too complicated for yourself, just stick to the truth, and keep it simple and about the two of you!

    Good luck!

  2. Hi Everyone,

My fiance had his interview on 4/19 @ the New Delhi consulate.

His interview went really well and and in the end the CO said that everything went well, but my fiance has to submit the missing PCC @ VFS (he only had a PCC from the police station, but needed one from the passport office)and his visa will be issued.

He submitted the application for the PCC the same day itself, however the server at the PSK in Delhi has been down since last Thursday and he has not been able to get the PCC (he's been going everyday since). He was told today that server should be replaced by end of the day today and he should hopefully get it by Tuesday.

My question is how long does it take the embassy to issue his visa after he submits the PCC at VFS?

We're planning our wedding here in the U.S. for June and at the standstill because I don't know when he'll be able to come...Please let me know if anyone has gone through a similar situation before. Thanks!!

  3. My interview is in May, and I got my PCC in Jan without an interview letter, so it's not imperative that you have one. You might want to cross check your facts, cos my PCC has been approved by the NVC.

I guess it depends where you are because my fiance was asked for an interview letter before they started the PCC process. So it really depends on the office you go to. I think Sundancer's biggest concern is that she doesn't want her fiance to get a 221g slip and in order for her fiance to go through the interview he definitely needs the PCC on the day of the interview. VFS is wrong is giving you that information. Get the PCC asap!

  4. First off, check the following link to find out if your fiance's city has a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK). http://www.passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/welcomeLink

If there is a PSK in his city, all he needs to do is register online, fill out the application form and submit online, fix up an appointment date, and go to the nearest PSK with the required documents; i.e., original passport with a photocopy of the biographic page and address proof if the address on the passport is different from his current address. You'll have your PCC letter as well as a stamp on the passport in a couple of hours.

    hey Sundance,

My fiance's interview is also on 4/19 in delhi. His PCC is already in the works and I believe when he applied he was also asked for the interview letter. So, you definitely need the interview letter for PCC. Also, he will get his PCC on Monday so when he submitted his paperwork to VFS he was told that he can bring the PCC to the interview, but he definitely needs the PCC at the interview. Hope this helps.
