Okay so you already got married in Temple. Cool. I have read your earlier post about not getting your marriage solemnized at marriage registrar office.
You both are MARRIED now and Hindu marriage Act considers this marriage legal and it can be registered at local marriage registrar office without ANY single issue.
As other poster said, you need to hire a better lawyer. You do not actually need a lawyer to get it registered as its just simple paperwork with two witnesses who were present at the time of marriage.

You should call Department of State twice in a week to know interview appointment.

Most of people who went to New Delhi, say it helps a lot.
It is not a requirement but CO does ask questions to both of you.
It helped us at second K1 after a denial.
Good Luck

Hello everyone, I case of I-130 was completed at NVC and NVC forwarded my case to New Delhi embassy on 10th September. I already send all original certificates as requested NVC. My request for expedite processing was approved. New Delhi embassy website is showing my appointment date as 10 October, but I haven't received any appointment letter from embassy or NVC. I already emailed to NVC, Embassy, VFS and support@traveldocs.com but havn't got any useful answer. Embassy is saying, they dont schedule immigrant visa interview dates, and NVC is saying, they forward my case to embassy because it is under expedite processing. Without appointment letter, I can not get my medical. Please provide me any suggestion, should I show up for interview at given time or try to re-schedule my appointment or wait for appointment letter. Will embassy let me enter for interview, without appointment letter. Please give some useful advice.
Yes, As I am aware you can appear for interview with the printout of appointment dates posted at New Delhi Embassy website, which display your case number. with this you will need case number letter which was issued to the petitioner from NVC.
As I can see that you have only two days left in interview and you can not get your medical done in this short amount of time. After interview they will put you on hold and once you deposit medical report to them, they will approve you.
It might be a huge delay before they schedule your next interview appointment date.
This is my advice, I may not be right in everything, you should still get updates on your case from US Embassy.

Look for country specific.

How many days it would normally take.?
What does Department of State say about your case?

Hey RNS
where you have Interview? Where did you Submit your documents Delhi or Punjab? Did you also submit your medical report to VFS? Please let me know thanks
New Delhi, New Delhi, no medical report to VFS, will take it with me tomorrow.
-
so what you are going to do? can we carry Demand Draft or we have to pay online by one of those option and then put the receipt # so we can get confirmation for registration to bring with the interview time.
Thanks!
I called to new OFC/vfs? and they told me that I can pay visa fee at New Delhi Embassy by cash at the time of interview however this registration process at new website is only for Non immigrant visas where interview fee needs to be deposited at any Axis bank branch in India. I guess we only need to select passport pick up center and no further steps as of now.
you can also call them and ask for Mumbai Embassy.

I am having same problem while visa fee tab. But I guess we all should wait until Oct 1st as Exchange Rate is now 58.00INR per USD and it is going to be lower after Oct 1st.
Good Luck.

Embassy/VFS will ask this form if you are going to interviewed at New Delhi.

I am not getting a normal marriage done. Instead I am going for marriage through the special marriage act in which you have to wait for 30 days after filing the application (or what is known as "Notice of Intended Marriage"). See the "Requirements" section here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Marriage_Act,_1954
What I am trying to figure out is if both the parties have to be present at the time of filing the "Notice of Intended Marriage". I know that at the time of "solemnization" (which happens after 30 days of waiting) both of us have to be present, but I am not sure about the time when you are the filing the application (aka notice of intended marriage).
Every court has their own set of rules, you better hire an attorney for this who can help you filling notice without USC. If they accept notice without NOC from Embassy and you can submit it at the time of solemnization of marriage; IF you are not successful in this you have to stay in India for more than 40 days as every court is slow even it is 30 days notice.
If both of you are Hindu, you better chose to get married in some Arya Samaj temple. You can get registered with in two week in this way.
Where do you live in India?
Good Luck.

My interview is on Oct 1st and I have deposited paperwork to VFS yesterday and they accepted it as they are not aware that I should carry this with me during interview as the guidelines were released on Sep 19th.

Hi RnS,
Ok, so I went to the site and yeah...it's a little confusing. I played around till I found this location:
http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-iv-documentdelivery.asp
THAT is where you would want to do your registration. It's not really that great as it asked for a Priority date which my husband does not have considering that he is IR-1 (they always get first priority) but it forced me to enter a date so I entered his Interview date!!!
It also doesn't go past like 1981 for the date selection of when his passport was issued. HUH? I had to type it in instead of doing the date selection drop down box.
Also, even though I entered an address for delivery of his documents, on the confirmation PDF page it still force showed an address in Pune which I assume is the VFS location for here???
It forced me to select that pre-entered address for pick up and the verbiage on that page said if no one was available at our home address, it would be sent to the address pre-entered. Ok...that's cool and all....
BUT WHY does it show I selected PICK UP for that address on the PDF page? I did not select for us to pick up his stuff...I put our home address in on the right screen! UGH!
So yeah...already seeing problems with that page. I'm going to keep checking back...maybe by the 25th or 26th it will have been updated to allow changes to some of those pages. Like where to deliver our stuff to!!!!!!!!!!!!
I attached a screen shot of the PDF page they gave me after confirming the information.
Thanks for your reply.
This website looks different from morning as few more options and tabs are added, I guess they are still working on it.
When I try to put K1 visa category it still asks for DS160 confirmation number(which is for NIV like B1/B2) and Fiance visa does not have any kind of confirmation number like this.
I also wrote an email to support-india@ustraveldocs.com about this issue. so lets hope they will figure it out.

Hello:
My fiance' got her K-1 Visa approved in Mumbai this morning. Mumbai consulate people did not ask for DS-230 Part 2 or ask her to sign that and give them. They only asked for DS-156K signature and submission.
Did they forget DS-230 part 2? Will this be detrimental to the eventual green card process in anyway? What role this form plays and how it helps the process.
Mumbai website did say this is a required document. Fill and bring it to the consulate but don't sign it before. My fiance' only gave the docs they asked. She told me no one asked for it so she did not give or check with someone about its necessity.
Appreciate if you have any insights into this.
thank you,
-P
they do not need it yet.
-
Did you try to create an account with this new website and update passport number and address detail? It is asking DS 160 confirmation number* which we, immigrant visa seeker do not have.
Any Idea about this?

Hello,,,
I have my interview on 1st oct and I haven't got my original appointment letter yet.??Give me Advice.I have to go for my medical on 2oth or 21st Sept. So,that I could submit my all documents to VFS before a week. And can I go for Medical with my e-mail.???Please share your views.!
I also have interview on Oct 1st. I do not know where will you have your medical examination but I have done it in New Delhi and they need only case no assigned from NVC.
If you have an appointment letter received via email just print and take it with you for medical appointment.
it takes a week to get your medical report; Plan it accordingly.

Hello all,
Whoever is waiting for the interview next month i.e Oct. I found some new information. If anyone has any other info please do share:
Please go to this website and select Mumbai/Delhi Consulate and Read the pdf that is shown
http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html
There has been back and forth of information between old and new process and hopefully this will clear up some doubts
Here it is.
http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/
This site can only schedule NIV appointments for dates after September 26, 2012 and/or register courier addresses for IV applicants.

Thanks but i have que that do we again need to go back to VFS to submit that single doc or at interview they will accept it????? specially in our case we would submit paperwork in Ahmedabad not Mumbai.
good luck your interview is ahead of us!!!
I do not think VFS will accept documents more then once, and it is not wise to do so. Embassy asks to deposit paperwork well before the interview date so that case can be reviewed fairly. Make sure to deposit all proofs of relationship to VFS.
Embassy will ask for PCC during interview. No harm in that.
Thanks

Hello everyone!!!
My fiance interview is on 5th OCT. Finally we received our interview letter by e-mail from VFS. please guide us what documents need to keep with interview time.

Have your wife email to her congressman/senator and president, explain how families are against love marriage in India, and how it could affect your lives. She can also explain that you too are adults and do not need permission from your parents for marriage and US embassy should not decide solely on your what your parents think.
