  1. Hmmm, if you have sensitive skin and use a beauty regimen from here, you might want to bring ample supply til you find your "kahiyang" products available in the US. I broke out pretty badly last year when the season shifted from summer to fall, turns out my skin became too dry which caused my break-outs and I've got pretty sensitive skin I was afraid to try products from the US. I wished then that I brought more of my stuff from my dermatologist. :( But that's me!

If you like corned beef, I still prefer the ones from here - mas malasa and even the noodles (Lucky Me). :)

    NOTED!

Yes you can bring dried fish in your checked luggage, if you get fish at a market just wrap them up real good and tight, the pre-packaged kind you buy like at Robinsons grocery are ok like they come. After you get here find a Filipino store in your area, or there are some online sites for Filipino grocery's for those must have items.

OKEI i will do that. Thanks :)

I will have to wait for Anne to answer this but we just had the corned beef conversation! I would suggest hair and skin items because it may be hard to find one that she likes and works. Some acne may become an issue. Especially with winter upon us... Guys, get some nasal spray and saline, vaseline and lip balms( get a few different ones) because your girls sinuses and lips will dry out and be uncomfortable and hard to breath.

Ok ok ! Thanks :)

Dental coverage is almost nothing. You'll still have to pay big chunk of money for any major procedures

I just want some Kropeks and Belo Essentials Day and Night Cream please?

We jsut went back for our first post marriage visit. My wife brought enough dried fish to feed an Army. it looked like 5 kilos of heroin in the suitcase. Also any of the whitening cream deodorant etc etc.

    OKEI OKEI! :)

In terms of food and beauty products i dont have a problem here in Hawaii cuz we got asian stores here and most of the product from philippines are available, havent seen magic sarap but seen knorr cubes..

but wish i could brought along more medicines, especially pain reliver and my daughter's medicine. Tempra, solmux, neosep syrup..

Yes Sis, i am definetly bringing those stuff for me and my son. :)

  2. Dried mangoes! The ones over here are not as good.

Ok so i am definetly bringing some dried mangoes as pasalubong :)

Any beauty products that are made in PI examples include, soaps, shampoo/conditioner like creamsilk, body scrubs etc.. my fiancee wishes she had brought more beauty products from PI. anything in sachets like ice teas, nescafe 3-in-1 or other flavored drinks. flipflops. and dried fish.

 Oh do u think i can bring some dried fish with me? i tot perishable items are prohibited.

  3. Where do I begin? It's just I am overwhelmed by unending problems but I believe God won't let things happen for a reason.

So I will start what I received today. I have been waiting for our i-130 email/txt notification until today, the1-130 packet was returned to hubby. Here are the reasons:

he forgot to sign the i-130 form and it says that the application/petition was filed on an outdated version of this form. But we used the latest version from uscis. Please resubmit the petition on the current version. Well, this is not really a bad news because we can resubmit it again.

The bad news is today hubby had his colonoscopy and the impression is likely malignant tumor. Hubby cried and the bad thing is that I'm not around to comfort and hug him and just beside him when the bad news was delivered. I cried too and trying to be strong for him but human as I am, couldn't helped it. God please help and be with us in this trial. Thank you Lord.

We just started the process and hubby just got his job last August. He is very scared now that he might lost his job. Though we are still waiting for the biopsy result and the doctor advised for a CT scan. We are not yet financially stable and trying still to build our future together. We are very sad right now but we put our trust in God that we will overcome this trial.

We need your prayers VJ especially the result of my hubby's biopsy. Thank you. God bless us

Praying for both of u! Be strong. Ull get tru this. (L)

  4. first of all i would like to thank VJ Family for patiently answering all my queries, such a big help for each and everyone who's undergoing their visa process,,, I got my visa this morning (10/23/12 10am) i feel so happy and excited to be with my husband i will be leaving on November 7, 2012...,,

Hi my dear, can i ask when was ur interview. I am wondering when shud i get my visa. I got approved last Oct 19. Im leaving for the US on November 6 tho. :)

  5. Hi VJ,

So my hubby just booked a ticket for me,  leaving early November for US. :luv: Now i am already thinking about wat stuff to bring with me in America. For u guys who's in the US now please take time to answer this question.. :)

WHAT DO U WISH U BROUGHT WITH YOU IN THE US? ( Can be food, meds etc.)

Just wondering what should i bring with me aside from some pasalubong.

  6. I am sorry if i wasn't able to post this on the day of my interview, i am still out of myself yesterday couldn't believe i was :dance:APPROVED! The phrase "God is Good" is an under statement, HE IS GREAT and ALMIGHTY! I don't think me and my husband can do this without his help.. not to mention a whole bunch of his and my family praying for our approval and considered our interview day as our big day.

Our visa application is very complicated because of the legal issues i have, it even took 35-40 minutes for my interview with the american officer. She grilled me and let me explain the facts and circumstances of my legal impediments. She was so serious looking, not even smiling so that's just got me real scared. I was really ready to hear from her " Sorry your visa is disapproved" when she looked at me and told me " The US embassy doesn't have problem with you and your paper-works looks good.. so i am issuing u and ur son a visa". I was stunned and asked her again if i heard her right :)

You know that moment when you have too much anxiety, nerves and happiness in a day.. u couldn't express ur self becuz it overwhelms you, that's how i felt yesterday. But now i feel very happy and excited. (L)

I was at the US embassy a little after 5am for my 6.15am interview, I am not even surprised seeing about a hundred people waiting in line already. at 6am line starts to move and by about 7am we are already in the building. Our number was called 3times for finger scanning, interview with the filipino officer, then interview with the american consul. Oh we wer called again at window 72 for final instructions then went to window 69 to drop off our 2go delivery forms. I am glad everyone der is very nice and helpful it makes you atleast feel calm. :)

For those people who are still waiting for their visa completion, interview dates or even those that are just starting their visa applications here are some tips:

    1. BE HONEST and dont hide any vital information from the US govt. Believe me they will find out and if they do it will greatly affect your application.

    2. BE PREPARED Bring every documents you have that you think they will need even its not on the appointment's letter they gave you.\

    4. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. THere are just some people hu arent good at ff instructions. I am still surprised no matter how many warning the US embassy gave us about wat to bring and not to bring at the interview, i still saw some people bringing electronic gadgets at the interview and having problems entering the embassy. It was just sad to look at.

    3. READ and ASK. Being here in VJ will help u alot, i f u wana know more about the visa process keep reading the post and forums. Dont hesitate to ask any questions u may have.

    4. Last but not the least. PRAY. GOD IS GREAT> He will give u wat u deserve. (F)

Thank u VJ for being such a big help. KEEP HELPING PEOPLE. :star:

Now i am so excited to be with my husband agen and spend the rest of our lives together. (L) (L) (L)

    CHEERS!

  7.

she can use her current passport with maiden name but it will mean her visa and green card will also have her maiden name. I renewed my passport to use my husbands last name coz I want my visa and green card with my married name. We submitted my old passport bio page photocopy to NVC since I did not have my new passport by then. When I went for medical I already presented new passport.

    I did the same.

  8. Good points all - thanks guys - I'll fly her to Manila and let her do it . . . I was wondering about the 'forwarding the results' remark . . . I was under the impression that on the second day, the SLEC will hand her the results in a -sealed- envelope. She will then hand that to the folks at the embassy. Has something changed, or was perhaps I'm confused in all my excitement!kicking.gif

    Thanks Again!

    Mark and Rasselkicking.gif

The only docs your wife will have after a SUCCESSFUL medical exam is the vaccination records. The rest will be forwarded to the embassy by SLEC itself. She can finish it in one day if she started to fall inline at the clinic as early as 4am in the morning. GOODLUCK!

  9. even if the clinic is open they wont have enough time to forward the results to the embassy just in time for your interview. i suggest that u do it a little early. maybe 2 weeks before ur interview. Congrats btw :)

  10. you can do it !!! :thumbs:Good luck and God bless!

Thank you! Goodluck on ur visa journey!

Goodluck.. At least now for the next 23 days you have things to focus on and will be concerned about gathering all your information....

And the x-rated msgs...I recall submitting them in to the embassy when I was on my k1 journey.....My lawyer got a good kick out of it... The embassy didn't frown upon it either....

For the CR-1 journey I'm planning on doing the same...

Ahahahaha.. I know its fine to have all of those.. and i dont believe they will be reading them anyways :)

We still have 31 days... such a long wait.

Good luck on your interview!

    Thank you! Good luck tu!

    3. Request for Advisory of marriage ( i can do this online but will wait 4 days to be able to get it)
