I only paid one AOS fee and will cover both the applicants unlike the IV processing fee you will need to pay for both separately.

I paid two times for my both parents! Oh no, how can I refund my money then?????????

USCIS sent cases ti NVC on 10/07/14..NVC received on 10/14/2016 ? Called them but no NVC # yet..why so long to generate the nvc number..

Just wanted to give you a head up.

I waited for my mother ( I had received my father's invoice two weeks ahead). Then later I found out that some lawyer filed to take charge of my case. They sent me but it went to my junk email since they cc'ed me and sent directly to that lawyer.

First I thought they input the wrong info, then I called ( waited forever) and the rep said the lawyer filed G-28 form.

I had to file and report a fraud on this too.

Now I am very nervous about all my info,etc.

Please check your email, trash/junk email.

it should be two different receipt number..i petitioned for my both parents n got two seprate receipts ?..haha since sent in different enveloped i rcvd my NOA1 separate..but received their approval on the same day?.. did u receive emails for both parents? Coz mine i did

I only received one for my father. I called the customer rep, he gave me the number but I have not received anything from them, a week now.

I had an interview in July, still waiting for the oath schedule.

I emailed and got the answer through email saying " pending to be scheduled for the next available oath ceremony in the court having jurisdiction over your location"

I am not sure what's that mean? Probably I requested to change my lastname, therefore they have to schedule a special oath ceremony and it takes forever????? ( FOREVER= that's how I feel.

I am traveling aboard next month so I don't know what to do????????

Any advice from anyone? Please..... :crying:

Hi Everyone,

As per my husband:

He arrived 30 mins before his interview and parked across the street (which was $12 for an all-day pass). He went through security and was directed to the interview floor. Upon arriving, he was asked for his interview letter and was told to take a seat and that he would be called in 10 to 15 mins. 15 mins later, he was called by one of the officers. When he arrived to the room, he was told to sit down and to hand over his passport, green card, social security and driver's license. Once the officer reviewed it, he told my husband to stand up and was sworn in. He proceeded by asking my husband questions 47 to 53 on the N400 application.

He then asked him the following questions:

Do you know what a terrorist attack is?

What is a criminal? (My husband answered "someone who doesn't follow the law like someone who sells drugs", the officer asked him to give him a simpler answer so he replied “someone who steals from a store.") I thought these 2 questions were a little odd because I never read about someone being asked these questions in any VJ experience, however they can ask you anything and these two questions are relevant to the application itself.

He then proceeded to ask him the following questions:

Who is the father of our Country?

Who is the Chief Justice of The United States?

How many voting members are in the House of Representative’s?

How many years do Representative’s serve?

In what month do you vote for the President?

Name a war in the 1900's

He made him read the following sentences:

Why do people come to America?

George Washington was the first president.

He told him to write:

The people come to America for freedom.

He then asked him:

To state his full name

Asked if he has ever changed his name

How many times has he been married?

How many times has your wife been married?

Were you in the military in another country?

He then congratulated him and told him he passed. After a few signatures, he shook his hand and told him wait outside until someone delivered instructions on his oath ceremony which is scheduled for this coming Monday.

Overall, it was a real breeze. He said the officer was very nice and professional. Good luck to everyone else!!

I had my interview done last month, yet have not received the oath ceremony appt. letter.

Now I am nervous.

I need to call in on Monday and check then.

oops posted this on the wrong tracker

hello,

My tracker info needs to be updated. received interview notice June 28 , had interview July 29.

Truthfully, unless you have some weird immigration history , this is less nerve-braking than we make it out to be. I was really anxious to a point that i gave my file to a lawyer to handle but it wasn't needed.

My interview was at 11 in NYC , was there by 10:45. Was called in a little before 11:30. I was interviewed by around middle age man who was nice, professional and very patient. So it's the usual, you are sworn in before you start, since i am doing it based on 3 yrs rule, he requested to see all documents on marriage ( i had a thick package of everything i can think of). He first started with the questions (how many senators, when constitution was written, what ocean on the west coast). Can't remember the other 3, it was so fast, i think we did the q&a in no more than 1m. You write a sentence .

Then he went thru my application but he had my entire immigration file which dates back over 20 yrs ( i got worried there for a moment) but that was it. makes sure you bring all your passports (expired or not).

He recommended me for approval but said if approval goes thru it will be about 2 months to get oat letter. Don't know why this long? does it usually take that long?

anyway good luck to everyone else.

I was told to wait two weeks for the oath ceremony letter. I guess it depends on the office.

I have been waiting for more than a week and yet still waiting, anxiouly tho

If you don't hear anything for a month, then you should call or do infopass.

Update: Arrived about 30 mins before, checked in and waited. The officer called my name and brought to a room. Sworn in and seated. I was asked 6 questions, like who wrote the declaration of independence? name three of 13 original states. Who is the chief of military? Name one state that borders with Mexico, etc all in the book. I was a bit nervous, plus my interviewer had a very strong accent. Read and write were easy, simple. And I was asked about those questions that we submitted. I had my name chagned, got the document print out. I was told to wait 2 weeks for the oath ceremony appointment. So sometimes in August, it's gonna be big group, up to 120 people. I got a paper from the officer, saying I had paased. It was about 15 mins.

So good luck for who is still waiting :idea: and enjoy Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!
