  1. Hello,

My husband just arrived to the states on Weds, Nov 27th. He is ready to start working right away. Will his visa be sufficient since he is here on a CR1 visa or does he have to wait to apply for jobs and work until he receives his SS Card/Greencard? I'm a little confused on what comes next and I know he doesn't want to sit at home long.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Congratulation, He will need his SS# card, and he will need Green card as well. Since he doesn't have the green card yet, he can use the temporany I751 stamp on his passport, as proof.

  2. Hi guys
Finally we received this Saturday November 9, 2013 the letter that indicates the additional documents requested by the USCIS. Turns out we received two letters: one addressed to another person who is not my husband indicating CITIZENSHIP tests and the second indicating us that we had left blank the question no. 22 Section C of Form I-130. How we handle the issue of error made by the USCIS? helpsmilie.gif
    We hope his usual answer.
    Regards

The correct date is november 16 2013.

Contact USCIS, Explain the situation, They will take all information, Due to the error on the USCIS your case will most likely be expidited.

    Good Luck!

  3. Thank you so much for the info!! He will be getting his medical done the beginning of November and the Cita is November 20th, so we should be all good! Does he call and schedule the medical or just show up with the letter early one morning?

The beginning of November is prefectly fine! He does NOT need to make an appointment, but depends where he lives he will have to leave his house early, the consultorio de visa gets really packed, fast you have people standing in line as early as 5:00am. I believe they open at 7am.

Make sure he take with him Interview letter, 2-2X2 passport photos (or he will have to pay 650 peso at the consultorio for them), cedula, and passport, and of course $$$$$ the money for the coast of the medical exam.

  4. I have a question. When submitting phone logs, is it possible to print just the page that has my husbands phone number on it. Or do I have to submit the entire bill. rose.gif I have sprint and each bill is between 13 and 19 pages.

What I did was highlight the outgoing and incoming calls, with all the call history, you don't need to submit all 13-19 pages, 2 pages should be enough.

  5. I would wait to get the packet since the letter is a blue paper. but since he can't do his blood until 5 days before his appointment he should have it by then and also they send you a copy of packet 4 here in nyc.

OP she is NOT a K-1 so her packet 4 will be sent directly to her via email, and the cita letter is on a regular white paper, All her husband will need to get the medical exams is the cita letter all his information will be there case number, date of cita, etc...

    PS

You shouldn't wait 5 days before the cita to get the medicals done, the consultorio de visa in DR is a bit slow and sometime they don't send the result as fast to the Embassy. So I would sugguest you get the medicals as early as 2 wk before the interview.

  6. Congrats, You almost there! "pkt 4" Is the interview letter, with this letter your husband can go and get his medical exam done, as well as pay the $15.00 or equvelet in peso fee for the "impuestos" or "verification of records" at any banco popular.

  7. 8-10 pictures are fine, a mixture of pictures will do, family and friends, and a few of you and him together, As well as one or two page of phone log, and a few pages of chat logs, that should be ENOUGH proof.

Be detail but str8 to the point in question #38, don't drag on giving the explaination and DON'T over do it in writing 2 or 3 pages.

Make sure to include the LETTER OF INTEND TO MARRY by the both of yous (Lots of people tend to forget to include this) and you should be good to go!

    Good Luck!

  8. Good evening to all!

I am a 22 year old Dominican US Citizen who recently married my girlfriend of 3 years on December of 2012 in the Dominican Republic. She is also 22 years of age. I love my wife and I am trying to bring her over to the USA to start a life together. I have the following questions:

    1. Will our age cause any difficulty in the process? NO

    2. What counts as Evidence of a bona fide Marriage? Things in common ie; bank acct., phone records showing income and out going calls, emails, chats, mainly how much you guys know about each other.

    3. What is more or less the TOTAL amount in expenses throughout the process. 420+(petition)230(visa fee)+88(AOS-Affidavit of support) plus, the other expensive for the benificiary (Birth cert. passport, police report, medical, exams, You are looking roughly at about $2,000)

    4. Will i need to go out there for the interview/What is the interview like? It is RECOMMAND and MANDATORY that the petitioner be present the day of

    5. How long does the process take on average? Lately things have been moving pretty quietly, but normal it can be anywhere from 5-8months BUT again things have been moving very FAST so it can be less like it can be more.

    6. How long do i have to be working for Affidavit of Support? You will have to show the last 3yrs of you having flied taxes, other wise you will have to show for the most recent and current year. The AOS will go by the household income. please Ref. to this link. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf

    7. What am I to look forward to or expect? You will be looking for either a speedy or slow process, a bit stressful if you don't educate yourself as far as how this process all works, It is best that you READ ALL the guides, instrctions, and ask as many question before starting the process, any little mistake can delay the process and hold you off from moving along. READ READ READ, and ask questions. other then that gather all your documents, and it should be a smooth ride.

Sorry for the bombardment of questions and thanks in advance!

  9. Me and my fiance have a set of twins together. Sjould I submit copies of thier birth cert in the I129 f application

    Hey!

No don't include the childrens BC, just for the fact that the petition specifically wants copies of the PETITIONER ONLY! Now once your case has been approved and you have your interview date It would be recommandated to take the birth certificate with you to your cita as proof.

  10. The babys birth certificate doesn't have his name on it because she was born in the U.S and they said if he wasn't present, his name wouldn't appear on it. She has his last name though. I also have one of the pregnancy test I had done over in DR .

This may be an issue as they would went to confirm that the child indeed is his. Try dropping a msg to our good friend reese1 who had a similar expirence a couple of months ago and maybe able to guide you in the right direction.

  11. I personally must agree with everything said in the post, And as one who went through the process and not bring my spouce as a K-1 visa, give me enough time to think about what I was getting myself into, and give myself time to think and analize the WHOLE process from start to finish. As one will depend on you, and later on down the line you won't "regert" nor have felt like you "rushed" into something. As most of us know this is a PROCESS and everything seem all good and dany when you and your spouse or fiance are to spending time together everything seem prefect... That why is more of like a "vacation" because your are only spending a couple of days, or wks together, until then everything seem easy. Once they are here everything is a whole new experience. That's when the ADJUSTMENT period start, and you will start "REALLY" getting to know one another. It's 24/7 adjustment of getting to know this person you decided to spend the rest of your live with. That is the advantage of bring some on a K-1 visa, But how can you really tell with (90day) this is NOT the person you went to marry? How would you know you did the wrong thing?

In my opinion I went the CR-1 route as I felt it was the right choice for me, to give me time to prepare myself for the new life I would be getting to as well as giving the intend immigrant time to "prepare" himself mentally for the new life he was about live, the adjustment, life, and everything else that comes with marriage and relationship and living together, and I can truly say it was the best decision I did, As it took lots of years of prepration which has paid off.

  12. Hi, does anyone have experience with this type of visa in the DR ? My fiancé and I have been together 2 years, have a daughter and he even has my name tattooed REALLY big on his arm.

Should I take the baby to the interview ?

It's optional if you want to take the child to the interview, As long as you have your childens birth cert. with you and shows his name on it you should be ok. Now as far as him having a BIG tattoo with your name on his arm, will NOT be considered "proof of relationship". Everything else you should be ok. Good Luck.

  13. Although you guys have been approved, due to the medical issue they are seeing they will NOT issued the visa until his result have come back with a clear answer as to wheather or not he has TB, and once that has been resolved then they will call you guys to let you know the out come. However, it the results come back positive with TB he will me on a medical treatment of 6 plus months, and until it doesn't get fix a visa will not get issused.
