Hi everyone,

I am in the process of applying for citizenship after 3 years of marriage.

I was told that males enter the US in the period between 16-26 have to register with selective service in order to apply for citizenship.

I went online to register, but it shows an error that they do not recognize my social security number. What should I do now?

you can go no problem. just bring your letter and expired green card with you.

I think we are getting very close to 2 years 9 months time period to apply for citizenship.

Please let me know what do we need to mail in? Do we need to mail in everything like when we applied for removing status?

After two biometrics and nine months waiting for the California center, I finally got my approved letter.

On the USCIS website, it said:

"On July 26, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283".

So I sent my application in on 11/3/2012 to Cali center.

I had my biometrics taken on 11/29/2012.

Then I've been waiting for a long time without anything. I called in and they said they will respond within 15 days.

Today I received another biometrics appointment for 6/27/2012.

Everything on this biometrics appointment looks exactly like the one I received before, except for the date.

I'm very confused right now.

I also would like to add that until recently our case couldn't be found online. My lawyer told me that it's ok and it doesn't really matter if it shows anything or not.I checked today and it shows my case is under "initial review" and it was last "touched" (updated) 04/30/12. Hehe.

Where can you find the last touched date?

So it's more than 6 months for me at the California center (I-751 Receipt Date was 11/3/2011).

I called the USCIS and they said at of right now they are still processing middle of October 2011 (2 weeks till November 2011).

But many people here who applied in November 2011 already got their approvals. Is there anything wrong with my case?

I have a question: If something is wrong with your application, does the USCIS send you the RFE first then the interview request later? Is there any chance that the USCIS send you an interview request without the RFE first?

I'm just really worried because I haven't heard from them yet.

so now it's been 6 months without any news for me at california center. Should I be worried now?

There are two different case numbers both start with WAC.

for me, one number is can not be found, and the other one shows initial review.

how much does it cost for citizenship (assuming we get the 10 year green card soon enough)?

Some people told me that the USCIS will always send applicants a letter asking for more evidences before they decide to either interview the applicants or just send them the cards. Is this true? Because I haven't gotten that letter yet. From the time that I went to take my biometrics back in 11/29/11 until now, I haven't heard anything from them. Is this normal?

To the people who got their cards: What is the first sign that you pass? Is it the letter from USCIS letting you know you are receiving the card soon or the USCIS website update about your status when you check?

USCIS received my CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS on November 3, 2011 to the California center.

I had my biometrics taken on November 29, 2011.

I've been waiting for a while and still haven't heard anything yet.

On the USCIS website, my status is marked as Initial Review.

Should I be worried now? Anyone sent the application in around my time and still waiting? What are my chances of getting interviewed?
