  1. I know the feeling, everything is a mess over there at the embassy. I flew for my fiancee's interview only to be told the day of the interview that there had been a mistake and there would be no interview that day. I wasted over $1,000 and had to wait another month for the "real interview." It is basically impossible unless God helps you out, because the embassy will not....

  3. There is always a risk of getting denied. That is why they ask all those questions about having commited crimes. It will be the discretion of the office that receives your relative's application to decided if she can become a U.S Citizen based on her criminal history. I am sure when your relative pleaded guilty that the judge informed her/him that it could affect her/his immigration status or when applying to become a US citizen.

  4. Usually when you send the I129F package, they don't need all those relationship evidence. Just a couple of pictures and a letter of intent from both of you should be enough. You will need the evidence when you go to the interview there you can send the 600 pages to your fiancee. What they require is signatures. They don't want photocopys of signatures but the real made by a blue or black in signatures. Maybe you didn't get your fiancee to sign her G-325 or you missed a signature.

Hopefully it is something that you can quickly correct and I hope everthing works out for you. It took me a year to get my fiancee through the whole process. Hang in there and if you have any questions, you found the right place to be at!!

  5. I really did not have a problem with the embassy till I scheduled my interview. I had a date on UStraveldocs.com and I had a confirmation email for the date. The interview date comes and guess what? They said that they made a mistake and the interview was not that day and needed to be rescheduled!!! The next interview was a month away. So I had gone for the interview and so I ended up losing over $3000 in airfare, food, and room and board. Hopefully you can get them to at least pay attention.

  6. Congratulations!

Just a question My fiance is also from El Salvador. I am petitioning for him with a K1 visa. I recieved our approval letter from the USCIS and my lawyer informed me that things have changed and the paperwork for those in El Salvador is no longer going to national visa center instead it is being sent directly to the embassy in El Salvador. how long did it take your papers to go to the embassy from the states and when they recieved it did they notify you? Also how long did it take till you recived your first packet from the embassy?

Hopefully your case gets approved as well and quickly. I applied March 30, 2012 and got it approved March 7, 2013 so almost a year for the whole process. It your lawyer is right then your case should be done way sooner than mine. It also depends where you applied. It seems that people that apply in California get their interviews quicker. There was one applicant that got approved 9 months after she applied.

Another thing, make sure you read this site and are well informed. A lot of the applicant's that went to the interview had lawyers but they had missing paperwork and common sense items. It seems the lawyers are making more money by not helping applicants out. I did all the paperwork for my fiancee and there were applicants with lawyers that were asking her for advice. Trust in God and everything will be fine....

Thank you everyone for your wonderful wishes and congratulations. Everything is going fine right now, we got married and I am trying to see what to do about the adjustment of status application. May everything work out for all of you as well....

  7. My fiancee had her interview on March 13,2013. Everything went well, God blessed her, and she breezed through the interview. I had prepared her well for all the questions and she did a fine job. The consular officer informed her that her visa had been approved and she would get it within 4 days  . I was thinking that it was going to be at least 2 weeks with how slow they are but on Monday my fiancee called Cargo expreso and it had arrived!! Visa is hand and so is the plane ticket!! My baby this long journey is almost over!! Now I just have to work extra hard and get the Adjustment of Status done, ahh more work...here we go again!!! :bonk:

If anybody has any questions or need tips, let me know and I will gladly help. I known how it feels to go through this painstaking process and I did not get much help through the forums. It seems there are fewer people applying for the k-1 visa than the spouse visas. May God shine your way through your visa journey as he did with us.... (L)

  8. Can't they accept the 2011 taxes? I thought that you just needed the previous year's taxes? Employers won't send out your W2s till the end of January so how can they ask for the 2012? My fiancee has her interview at the beginning of February I hope she will not have a problem because I only have my taxes for 2011. Good luck, keep on being strong and hopefully everything works out for you.

  9. Congratulations!!

One question, to all of you that are waiting on interviews, why can't you schedule your interview through Ustraveldocs.com? Is it different for the CR-1 visa to schedule an interview than the K-1 users? Because I just got an email yesterday stating that I was ready to schedule an interview and medical exams. As soon as I got that, I logged in and scheduled my interview for the only date available in February. Hope your interviews happen soon.

  10. I sent my DS-156 forms and DS-156k to the embassy 21 days ago. I had not heard anything from them so yesterday I decided to email them. They responded the same day saying they were ready to conduct the final step in my visa process. They informed me that I could schedule an interview and schedule a medical exam. I went to ustraveldocs.com/sv which is the only way to schedule an interview in El Salvador and I only saw one date available for an interview in El Salvador in February. I am very happy but if I had waited another week before contacting them I would have not been able to schedule a medical exam in time. As it is I have to run around hoping I can schedule an exam today.

Does anybody know why there is only one date available to do an interview? If you have sent your DS-156 forms do not wait for them to contact you. Wait a week at most and email them because they will never send you a letter.

  11. Notified by NVC of mother in laws interview on Jan 31. NVC letter states birth cert, mariage cert, and her hsubands death cert are accepted as meeting post. Embassy website says documents can be no older than 90 days, which they now are. What does accepted as meeting post mean? Do we now need to collect all new documents????

She can always go and get new copies of her birth certificate, marriage certificate, and husbands death certificate. I know a birth certificate costs about 5 dollars so it is better to spend the money and be safe. She still has plenty of time to get all the documents ready. Are you sure it did not say "are accepted AT meeting post?"

  12. My Fiancee and I are applying for the K1 visa. It got approved by USCIS and NVC and it is now at the embassy in El Salvador.I need to send the DS-156 forms before I can schedule the interview. My packet specified to send it through Cargo Expresso a mail service for the embassy. The problem is that Cargo expresso asks for a confirmation number from ustraveldocs for them to accept the forms and mail it to the embassy. I can't get the confirmation code because when I look under the IV Register Address tab, I can't find the Visa Class that my fiancee would fall under. I need help does anybody know what class is it under?

  13. My I-129F K1 Visa application was approved by USCIS on September 24 and forwarded to NVC. NVC approved it October 2 and forwarded it to the El Salvador embassy. I contacted the embassy by email and they kept saying they did not have a petition. I contacted NVC and they said that their tracking log confirmed that the embassy received it on October 5. I emailed the embassy again and they did not respond. I waited 15 days and emailed them yesterday morning. Finally they responded and emailed me saying they had sent the instructions packet to my fiancee on November 15, 2012. They emailed me the online version of the packet now referred to as Revised NIV-packet 3.5 K1 visas. I read it over and it gives me all the information that my fiancee is going to need to take to the interview. It then states that I should fill out two DS-156 forms and send one to the embassy through Cargo Expresso.

My question is when I look through the El Salvador consulate it states that I should send in two copies of the DS-156 form but my packet does not say that and also everybody talks about the DS-230 but my packet does not even mention it. It also asks for a payment of $240 for the Visa application and I have heard no one else mention it either. Is there anybody in El Salvador that has filed for the K1 visa that could give me some insight? Should I just follow the packet and forget about the comments posted here in the forums?

  14. So excited to have received the first noa - a little down it was sent to Vermont as I have heard the processing times are slower ....but overall it's a day to celebrate - This is really happening and I couldn't be happier - just pray the next 6-7 months goes smoothly.

Can't wait to call my love and tell him we are officially in the system and being processed!!!!!

Wow I heard Vermont is actually pretty fast the average is 5 months but mine took almost 6 months. Good luck my friend....

  15. Guys' I think i have my packages ready but i dont know if im missing anything

    G-1145

    I 129f

    Statement of meeting each other

    My birth certificate

G325A for both my fiance & I w/ passport picture attached

    Intent to marry for both

    9 pictures of us

    5 emails

Stamps on my passport of me entering the country

2 emails of my itinerary to the country

    Do i need more evidence?????

Do not forget to sign everything. I put my pictures on a piece of paper and I always signed and dated it. You can never be too sure with USCIS. The only other thing you might want to include is a cover letter and I am sure of course, the check you are sending. Make sure you make a copy of everything you are sending. May God help you through this whole process as it is not easy and it involves a lot of patience....

  16. it says on the form that they did not have past the number of evidence.. We juz dnt get it coz if they didnt submit the required evidence then why did the service center not send them rfe or why did they get the approval?

I am really sorry. The best advise I can give you is to request another interview with the embassy and bring proof of the relationship. Photos, phone bills, emails, and a letter of intent from both of you affirming your desire to marry and of course pray....

  17. It's not a bother. He needed a Constancia de Soltería de la Alcaldía, which just shows he's able to be married I think. The paper wasn't on the first list of papers we were given by the embassy, but showed up on a later list. It makes sense to go get it when you get more copies of your birth certificate.

Thank you for the information, I am going through the Fiancee visa myself and my case has just been sent to the embassy in San Salvador so I really appreciate it.

  18. "Unfortunately, NVC recently uncovered a huge glitch in theirsystems where they did not realize that approximately 1,000 San Salvador caseswere ready to be scheduled for appointments. So in September, we all of asudden had a huge backlog from previous months where they told us that none ofthe cases were ready for appointment scheduling. Additionally, wecurrently have staffing limitations that prevent us from increasing ourcapacity for appointments.

That being said, we probably won’t be able to work down theentire backlog until early 2013. Since NVC just informed me that theyhave completed November scheduling and are beginning December scheduling now,it is unlikely that she’ll get an appointment in November. It reallydepends on how long her case has been ready in comparison to the othercases.

NVC has a procedure whereby you request an expediteappointment if there is a medical or life threatening emergency, but other thanthat it really is just a waiting game. Sorry I can’t be more helpful."

Straight from my inside source. Great.

I really hope this is not true. NVC informed me that they sent my K-1 Visa to San Salvador on October 2 and I was really happy everything was moving so fast. Now I am worried especially since in my NOA2 said it expires January 24,2013. I think I have to start praying more....

  19. My fiancé had his interview today and the CO said everything looked great but we forgot 1 paper (certification that he has never been married). He was given the green form and was told to send the paper by courier when he got it and they would call him in again. They also kept his passport. My question is this: do embassies normally keep passports during AP? I have heard that AP can take months... What if the passport is needed during this time?

I know all embassies are different, and unfortunately there isn't a wealth of current info on El Salvador.... Just a history of being notoriously difficult  .

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry to bother you but what certification do you need to prove that your fiancee has never been married?

  20. Im hoping there is someone here with some kind of idea or suggestion I feel like I have exhausted every option. My husband voluntarily left the U.S. for El Salvador in November of 2010 and had his visa interviews in April. He has been in administrative processing for a year and we have heard absolutely nothing. But I (his wife) have stage 2 Cancer and am worried about who will care for our 2 small children if something shall happen to me but absolutely cannot get ahold of anyone. I know its pretty much impossible. But does anyone have ANY ideas or suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated

Hi the phone number for the US embassy in El Salvador is 1866-730-2089. You have to have a credit card and they do not give great information. My best advise is to email them at their address congensansal@state.gov. Make sure you have your case number included in the Email that you send them. Voice your concerns and ask God to help you out to fix your problems. May God help you through your situation and may your two kids be always taken care off.

  21. I notice a lot of topics about members unsure if their application has been received. Weeks have passed and some members do not know what has happened to their application.

My advice to anybody that is planning on sending the I-129F application for the K-1 visa is to attach the G-1145 form. It is free and as soon as the USCIS receives your application they will send you a text message or/and an email message. It will save you from worrying too much.

Also spend a little more money and get the delivery confirmation when you mail it. You will worry less.

May God help me in my application, that everything goes smoothly and that I am not missing any information and that I do not get a RFE. May God help you too....
