  1. First, condolences for your loss.

Next, make an InfoPass appointment at your closest USCIS office. You'll need to explain your situation and request advance parole (permission to re-enter the United States) because regardless of whether your I-94 is unexpired, the K-1 visa is good for a single entry into the United States. If you leave without getting advance parole first you stand a significant chance of being denied entry and having to go through the entire K-1 process again (or else having to get married in the Philippines and apply for a CR-1).

I've heard of people in similar situations getting lucky and being readmitted on the strength of the used K-1 visa and the unexpired I-94; don't risk it. Make an InfoPass appointment, explain your situation, request advance parole, and make sure you'll be able to come back after you've said your goodbyes.

Thank You so much for your help.. We will tryto check about that..

    Mahalo! God Bless!!

  2. Aloha Everyone,

Hope someone could help me with this.. I just got here in Hawaii for 2 weeks, and sad news came. My Mother died, and its very hard for me now that I am so far away..

Im just wondering if I could go home right away that I still have I-94 which is not yet expired. We are not yet married too.. I will just go home for a couple of days and come back here..

How can we do that? Where to go? really need help..

I want to see my mom and say goodbye for the last time.. I know its expensive to go home and Im glad my fiance is very supportive of that.. Im so thankful...:-)

    Thanks everyone for your reply!

    Mahalo!

  3. Thanks.

I bought the tickets. It cost about $50 for 2 tickets from Cebu to Manila Friday night Oct 15 on Tiger Airways. Then it cost $1600 for 2 tickets from Manila to Seattle on Delta the morning of Sat Oct 20. Then it cost $200 for 2 tickets from Delta to Denver on Southwest Airlines. The total for 2 tickets is $1850. Now I just have to hope that the embassy gets the Visas released by next Friday Oct 12 which should let it arrive in Cebu I hope by Friday Oct 19. If not I have to pay $250 per ticket change fee......

Hank's Visa took 9 days to be released from embassy which is cutting it very close. I hope it doesn't take that long.

Wow!! Congratulations!! IM so happy your fiancee got approved!! Dont worry I received my visa here in cebu after 4 working days.. It will arrive on time for your flights!! Congrats and Goodluck!!

Best wishes for both of you!!

  4. I think it's your birth cert, not your sponsor's. But of course at CFO they are able to ask for anything so you never know. My birth certificate was part of the K-1 packet so my fiance had that in case they needed it anyway.

Thats a good advice you have.. Bring all the visa packets.. all documents you have.. coz thats what I did.. You never know what they will ask from you.

Im glad your fiance is finished with CFO.

I went back there for the sticker.. and they ask me another 400 pesos for the sticker.. kidding me! 400 pesos for the sticker!! arrgghh!!

no choice but have to pay so no more problems!! arrgghh!!

  5. How about you? hows your wedding preparation? hehehehhe!

hehe.. wla pa preparation Sis.. gusto ko nga bumili na ng dress dito para mas mura. but i guess duon nalng. it would just be a simple white dress. kasi beach wedding yung sa amin.. hehe

Simply lng but it would be romantic beach wedding.. We will do it in the afternoon. during sunset.. hehehe

    How about you Sis?

    Got my Visa now!! Yepey!!!

Thanks everyone for all your help!

  6. Oh yes you are right - I-134 it is. I have no idea where I got that other number haha.:bonk:

Yah, if only she had gone last week it would have been easy but she was going to wait for her friend to get another ID to go with her. But our embassy interview is almost here so I asked her to go ahead on her own. I'm glad I did because it seems like this could be a long process. Based on what she told me I have my doubts whether she'll even get cleared next week when she goes back. I think they'll ask her to come back again for something else after that.

It seems like this new CFO process is hard because of only 12 slots per day and even worse the counselors there are very hard on the people who come there, asking all sorts of crazy questions and using no good reason to delay and cause trouble for them. There is no oversight of them it seems so it's abuse of power to make lives miserable for people who are forced to go there. It's not education, it's harassment.

Thanks for your help on all of this AlohaBabes. I'm glad you made it through before all of these changes. At least that's one person out of their control.

Dont worry. I know she will get through it.. What the counselor wants is, she have to know you more, even better. Maybe you can talk about it with her, of all the things they ask about you.

But I dont agree with all the questions and hardship they cause to all applicants. They dont have the right to hold us.. They can educate us in a nice way, but not to the extent that they are already

harassing us. I dont agree with that anymore.

Its like they are controlling our lives already.

Good thing about my interview was She just told me its all up to me.. at least i know now what to do in case something happened.. The counselor was nice.

Im sorry that your fiance is experiencing this right now.. But i know she will get through it, and I know you will be there to support her, even if your far.

If she needed help or questions with Usem, i would like to help too..

Good luck and God bless to both of you!:D

  7. I don't know what I-342 is, never heard of it. I-394 is the U.S. govt form you submit at your embassy interview to show you make enough money to support your fiance.

I think you mean i-134. affidavit of support? Im sorry to hear about that from your fiance.. She actually texted me yesterday about it.. SHe said it was very difficult. and there are some women there who are crying because they hold them.. Wow! cant believe its happening in there. Hope she can get through it and finished it on Monday!

  8. That is very fast Aloha. Good for you. I don't know if you saw the forum threads about it but when you depart Manila you have to pay a bunch of tax and fees. I think 1650p + 600p (I may have those amounts wrong). Also you might need money for a taxi from your arrival terminal to your departure terminal because the shuttles also cost money, there is usually a line for them and they don't come often. So a taxi is probably best. So take plenty of pesos with you to Manila NAIA (I'd suggest 2500p).

Thanks for the advice.. I already set aside 5,000 pesos for all of that.. 2 travel tax for me.. mine is 1620.00, for my son is 830.00.. and then terminal fees.. wow!! thats a lot..

I dont know if i will need a taxi.. we will fly with PAL going to Manila and they are also tied up with Hawaiian Airlines. but if we need that.. i still have extra.. hehe..

  9. i believe it is on the appointment confirmation paper after you schedule your interview, the second page.. can someone correct me if i am wrong :)

You are correct.. UID is in the second page of your confirmation letter.. its the numbers below the bar code.

  10. I checked 2go website today, and it says.. In Transit.. :wow:

i used the UID to check it.

Wow!! its fast.. Just had my interview last Monday Sept. 17 and probably i will have my visa later today or Tomorrow.

Thank God!! I still have a lot of time to go to CFO to get my sticker.. and say goodbye to my friends and family here..

Im Kind of sad and Happy right now.. But i know my family will be happy for me!:)

    I will miss them!
