  1. The St. Luke's website says no exam during menstruation, but the Department of State website says its ok to have the exam during a period. As far as I can tell the Philippines is pretty much the only country that doesnt want you having a period during the medical.

My GF has an erratic period, and even though she finished less than 2 weeks ago she thinks she may be starting again today, her appointment at St Luke's is tomorrow. Would it be ok if she still does the medical tomorrow? We are on a tight timetable now and delays would seriously mess up our scheduling. Are they searching for something specifically that would be messed up by having a period or what? We are thinking of just going for it, then if anything happens say we are surprised by it, because quite franky we are surprised by it.

    Thoughts, suggestions?

  2. My fiance and her daughter have been getting vaccine injections over the last few months to prepare for the interview, so she wont need to get them at St Lukes. Basically most of the injections that are needed to come to the US. Well apparantly she was in contact with St Lukes and they said that all the injections she recieved (at her Dr in Santiago, Isabela) are not applicable and she and the daughter has to have them all again at St. Lukes. Does this sound legit to anyone or just an attempt to earn more money for the facility? She has records of all their recent injections over the last few months.

Edit: I read the recent post by CJ8611 but am hoping for some clarification as it looks like it could still go either way.

  3. Trying to schedule the appointment for my fiance for her interview, but when I called the Embassy to set it up they said it was unable to be set up due to the system saying no dates are available. Yet I know dates are available because we were going to set it up a week ago but didnt have the MRV fees paid yet. So since they couldnt set anything up they directed me to ustraveldocs.com/ph (she's a filipina) to set the appointment up online when the system comes back. After some work I find that...no dates are available. I guess they weren't messing around. Anyone else have this experience? Expected wait times until it is fixed?

  4. Something on the list just seems odd: Embassy of the United States of America Consular Section - Immigrant Visa Unit Manila Philippines

On page 6 of the 9 page PDF document is the list of vaccines. The last one is the tricky one.

    Mumps

    Measles

    Rubella

    Polio

    Tetanus

    Diphtheria

    PertussisHaemophilus influenzae Type B

    Rotavirus

    Hepatitis A

    Hepatitis B

    Meningococcal disease

    Varicella

    Pneumococcal

    Influenza

 Any other vaccinations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices.

Is the ANY OTHER VACCINES RECOMMENDED BY THE CDC part just there to cover their asses in case the list is not complete? Are there any other vaccines that ARE required that are not listed? Just trying to get a total list because my fiance is freaking out over it.

  5. Unfortunately things are not going to work out with me and my fiance. She ended things for reasons I wont disclose, all I know is that it's all very stupid and without logic and I'm shattered by it.

My K1 application was accepted and send to the California Service Center for review about a month ago. How do I go about cancelling everything so nothing else occurs? I wouldnt mind having the packet back, but if they cant send it back it's ok. Is there a hotline or do I mail them or what? Any help would be appreciated.

  6. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have a pregnant fiance in another country. Since the timeframe from inital acceptance of the I-129F packet and the interview is roughly 8 months, it looks like she will be giving birth in her home country (Philippines). My question is, when we are approved for the visa and assuming she has to have the baby in the Philippines, roughly how long does it take to get a U.S. passport for the new baby, which will be both a Philippines and American citizen? Will her original Visa to enter the US still be acceptable in that timeframe, or will they likely hold issuing the Visa until right around when the passport for the new baby would be approved. If anyone could give me steps on that process I'd appreciate it. Got the USCIS Initial Acceptance Confirmation on March 28, 2012 and her due date is mid-November 2012.

Also based on the baby we are pushing the wedding date back until April 2013 if that matters.
