My husband is going to mail his Canadian passport renewal application this week, and I was wondering what is the best method to mail it? I want to use USPS because it seems to be the most affordable, but will I be able to track delivery if I use USPS? I wasn't sure how delivery tracking worked if I am shipping from the U.S. to Canada.

Sorry for creating a new thread, the clearinghouse thread wasn't working for me. Any help is appreciated.

VSC updated the processing times, and they say they are now working on applications submitted after December 30, 2007. Well we are now overdue, but not 30 days so I don't think calling will help. I'll give it until the end of the week, and then I am contacting our Senator.

Actually, if you look carefully at the new format processing times page you will see that the quoted date is as-of September 30th.

So according to that, on September 30th they were working on Dec 30th 2007 cases.

I was wondering about the new format. So I don't know what the problem is because there are so many of us from December 2007 and even some from October 2007 that are still waiting.

Online it says January 14, 2008 because of being transferred from TSC to VSC.

I am very anxious as well, but trying not to worry. I try to not check our online status or even VJ everyday because it makes the

wait seem even longer. We are eligible to apply for citizenship next month, but I'd really like for the lifting of conditions to be approved

before then. I am watching the processing times on the USCIS website, and as soon as it passes our receipt date we will be

contacting our senator. Hopefully we get approved soon.

Anastassia, try logging in to InfoPass around 5:00 p.m. If I recall that's when they add new appointments.

Congrats to all the approvals posted today. I'm very glad to see a TSC transferee be approved, so that eases my mind about transfers.

As soon as I got home I checked our case status online, and no change. Trying to keep my mind from going off on a worry tangent.

I don't mean to sound like a spoil sport, but now three people who filed after us have received their approvals and we are still waiting. I know it's not first come, first serve but it really makes me sad. Also, I'm still concerned that they have not approved any TSC transferees in this recent batch of approvals. None of us asked to be transferred, so we really should all be treated equally.

I am impatient, and I can't help but want the PR card before we file for citizenship.

I am happy for those that are getting approved, I just wish we would be approved soon too.

Hopefully us TSC transferees have not been forgotten. We didn't asked to be transferred that was USCIS's decision.

For a while it seemed that the VSC had put the direct filers on the back burner, and processed people from TSC. It's funny they didn't send applications to the CSC, where the approvals are much quicker. Plus you would think California is closer to Texas. Go figure all we can do is wait.

TSC was sending to CSC in the summer, but around December they started sending all lifting conditions applications to VSC.

Also, TSC transferred applications that had already been pending for almost a year.

I'm getting a little concerned as there have been two December approvals for VSC direct filers, but no December approvals for any of us transferred from TSC. I hope that's just a coincidence because I'd hate to see delays for us that were transferred.

Just a guess, but it could be that your local office does not have any open biometrics appointments. We waited three months to get my husband's biometrics appointment. When he inquired they told him the local office has to release dates so applicants can be scheduled.

I'm also curious as to what VSC is doing. We applied in December 2007 and were transferred from TSC to VSC.

I don't think it is necessary to send the passport or birth certificate, but definately send a copy of the greencard. We did not send any photos. The main evidence they seem to prefer is apartment lease or mortage and bank statements. Also, utility bills, copies of insurance, 401K and things like that.

We sent a copy of each of our credit cards, the statements even though they only have my name and a copy of a letter from our credit union stating my husband is an authorized user.
