Double proxy marriages are legal in Montana (there has been at least one member who has done this) and could be an option for the OP's friend. But in order for the marriage to be recognized for immigration purposes the couple would have to meet after the ceremony took place. So they still would not be able to file for a spousal visa until they saw each other again.

If time and immigration are their main concern then filing the K-1 makes the most sense. If it is having the legal status of being married and they don't mind waiting for the immigration benefit until after they have seen each other again then the proxy marriage might be the way to go.

It should be noted that if they do a proxy marriage then they will not be eligible for the K-1.

they just did the proxy thing the guy is in deployment the family member is in the philippines. just dont know what are they going to use in filing the petition

this is for a family member who wants to go through the proxy marriage thats why I am asking. And yeap! they have met already it's just that the guy is currently deployed & now they want to do the proxy marriage thing. So I am asking if it's possible to have the proxy marriage even if he is in deployment and the girl is in the philippines. how legit is this? thank you

he did.. but is the itr, w2, paystubs, certificate of employment, bank statements and so on are those the affidavit of support?? is it different from the one he filled out at the nvc? now i'm confused :crying: :crying: :crying:

You still should have gone. If all went well, they probably would have issued your visa as soon as you sent in the missing documents!

i have an interview today but I wasn't able to come cause I'm still waiting for some documents from my husband.can I have it rescheduled? is there a possibility that they will ask me why I wasn't able to come on my scheduled date? What would be the possible questions in my interview?

there are cities in manila that can give you marriage license in a day as log as you are a resident of thatplace. one of them is san juan city to be exact.

hi! just like to share hubby stayed here for only 21 days & we only had 6 days of preparation f0r a civil wedding. We were able to obtain a legal capacity for a day just be sure everything is complete.

as i was browsing the web just to check how to fill up the G-325A & checking the copy of my G-325A i found out that i made a mistake on it. there are some boxes that I left blank instead of putting none. I even forgot to write the date & the purpose for it. Will I still have the chance to make my G-325A right or should we submit the corrected G-325A to the USCIS? Anyone who could give info? thanks!
