I have been anxiously waiting for the US embassy here in Sg to send me my packet 3. We already have our case number since Aug 10, but no word yet from the embassy. I have emailed them to inquire how long it will take this morning and I hope they reply soon!
Anyone who has experience on this? Should I expect for a Packet 3? I think it is a must coz I can't find the instructions in their website.
Hi there..just bw patient and wait.
I got my NOA2 in early May and only received packet 3 in early July.
Yrs will come soon...

Hey guys, I need your help and advice here.
Me and my fiance filed for K-1 Visa a few months ago and have already received NOA 1.
I visited the States in December of 2011 and left early February 2012(stayed for 2 months). In that period, he proposed and shortly after, we began to searching for immigration lawyers and such.
It's been almost 6 months since my last visit there and I was thinking about going again in late September and for only three weeks.
The problem is that the attorneys said that it wouldn't be a good idea since they can only give me 40-60% chances of getting in even if I have a character letter from them saying that I am their client and we've been doing things legally, have my return ticket, lawyer's card so they can call him if they want and proofs of the NOA1.
Since my fiance heard that, got really scared and didn't want to risk spending almost $1000 on a ticket to fly me there if I had only 40-60% chances of getting in.
I am desperately trying to convince him that my chances were much much smaller last time I visited him for two months.
Think about this: I was visiting a boyfriend, for two months, I had no job and no ties back home. No matter how hard I try to convince him that in my previous trip I was way closer in being sent back, he is just saying that the attorneys know better.
Iam replying back that the attorneys know the laws and speak with chances, thing I don't believe in.
I, on the other hand, believe that visiting now with the proofs of doing things legally and most importanly having a reason to not overstay, gives me more hope than last time.
So I'm asking, in your honest opinion, am I wrong believing that last time I had less chances than I have now and that there shouldn't be a reason not to try visiting now?
Thank you all in advance!
PS: I should also say that I've visited the States twice so far: once in June of 2011 for 3 weeks and once in December of 2011 for two months. Never overstayed.
Hi..You shld not have any Problem going to the US as long as you show proof of a return ticket. I have been here in America for 2mths . I came after i received my NOA2 and the custom is not aware of my K-Visa..they only ask general Qn like Why are u here? how long will u be here? Who r u staying with? ..as long as u answer truthfully the Qn , I don't see why they shld deny yr entry..
-
Hi all
I entered the US with no issue at all at custom...
So I think for those who wants to come to the US while waiting for package 3, please do not hesitate.l
-
Hi all
Just to inform u guys that I have entered US with no problem at custom at all.
Earlier I asked abt whether I can enter US after receiving NOA2, a lot of people has advised that I would have problem entering even though I m entering under visa waiver program.
Today I just touched down at LAX n the custom officer only asked how long I will be staying for, what my bf works as, is he American citizen and what is my occupation.
No issue at all... :-)

Hi
I just want to know what is the basis of saying that i will definitely be deny entry upon POE.
I will be entering on a Visa waiver program. Will I still be deny?
I already have the return ticket too.
I hope someone who has similar circumstances n who has experience it..please advise me..

Hi Everyone
Does anyone has experience visiting the US after receiving NOA2?
I have just received my NOA2 recently but has already booked and plan my trip to US in June.
Would I be deny entry? or shld i just cancel the trip and wait for my interview date and go once i get my K1 visa?
-
Hi Everyone,
I have a true experience with this and my fiance: We looked everywhere for an answer and we were told there is no law preventing it and its up to the POE officer and if he is having a bad day he won't let you in. We risked it in february and my fiance had no problem coming in. He flew direct from London to LAX and went through customs there. As a precaution he brought information that showed he still had strong ties back home and will be going back home. The customs officer didn't ask him anything. All he was asked was about me. My fiance told him he was coming over to visit his girlfriend for her birthday which was the truth. He is going to try and come over again in April so we hope for good news then too. The only thing my lawyer recommended was not to come over after you have received your NOA2.
Hope this helps. It sure sucks when we can't see our loved ones for long periods of time. Good Luck.
Hi I saw yr above comment abt not to go to US after u receive the NOA2
Well, I already planned n booked for my ticket to LAX n plan to stay there for 2 mths from june.We received our NOA2 on 21st may. Can I still go?I
I do have my return date.
I am not sure when we will receive the interview date but definitely I will come back for the interview.

Well, if any one else wants to contact the American Embassy in Singapore in the future, I suggest emailing them. Getting through on the phone is next to impossible. Got a response within the day through email
Waiting for my new appointment letter. Thanks everyone!
Glad to know that you have receive yr interview date
I just got my NOA2..
Base on yr experience, how long did your police clearance from Australia take to process?
I am actually going over to the US for 2mths in June..I want to get all necessary documents ready before i leave.
-
We received NOA2 today!! Hurray....what's next? What should I do now to prepare for the next step?
-
Hi all
The rfe was received because my fiancé missed out answering one question..anyway, we have already replied n gotten a text from them that we shld expect to receive a decision within 60days..
Hopefully soon...

Yes, we received our NOA2 in March. I was just suggesting that you probably should wait until you have received your NOA2 before applying for the police check from Australia.
I think the g325a form asks to list the places you've lived for 6 months or more in the past 5/10 years (don't remember which). The form the embassy would send you would ask you to list the places you've lived in for 6 months or more since you were 16. So, it shouldn't raise issues if you were in Australia more than 10 years ago, which I assume is why you didn't state so in your g325a
Hi..thanks..u r right..the g325a form ask for last 5 yrs.
It has been more than 10yrs since I was staying in Australia. Think I will get the police clearance done ASAP for Australia since it will take 3-4 wks to process.
Have u got an interview date with the embassy yet?
-
Hi.. I thought u got yr noa2 in mar? And u still have not receive the package from them? Omg.. Is taking so long.. I think mine will be longer then. Anyway, i will be going over to wait instead.. Probably stay for 3mths then come back for the interview ( hopefully by then is ready.)
One thing to note is that when i filled up the g325a form that was submitted together with i129f, i did not indicate that i have live in australia for 4yrs. So i was wondering if now i indicate i have , wouldn't it raise any issue?
Is so much hassle to get the coc from them.
-
You will need to get a police certificate with fingerprint check. Well... You're going to have to list your education history in the form you return to the embassy so I think they will know >.> And no, I haven't received my interview date because I haven't returned the checklist. But I plan to return it by midweek so since noone has answered, I guess I'll see how long it takes
Hope you get approved soon
ours would've taken only 5 months if we replied the RFE as soon as we received it.
We just got RFE on 2nd May..my bf left some qn blank or NA which was not allow..anyway, he will send it back ASAP n I hope we get the noa2 soon.
Would u be able to advise me how do I get the coc from Australia? Can I get it now before I get the noa2.

The normal procesing time from the CSC on California is 5 months:
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do
Once they have completed the processing, then the peition is sent to the NVC, it could take a little as 3 to 5 day for the NVC to complete the FBI background check, once completed it is e-filed to the Embassy in Singapore. The hard file (paper file) is sent via DHL, within a couple of weeks, once there, then the real fun begins, namely the P3 packet. So once your SO has the I-797C notification letter and notified you of this, then the foot work begins, hopefully you have planned ahead and have most of the documents already.
So what that mean is it's only a matter of weeks when you will know your approved.
From what I'm seeing the real problem is the Police Certificates from various countries, I would suggest trying to obtain them locally via the respective Country Embassies, unless they require that you physically have to return to the country to obtain the Police Cert's.
Hi.. I used to studied in Australia for 4yrs too.. Do I need to get the coc from Australia too.?
Would they know if I don't mentioned that I studied there before?
Have u got yr interview date yet?
-
I am just worried that with the RFE , we need to wait for another 5mths or more for NOA2
-
My fiancé just received the RFE notification...will it result in further delay in our application?
I am wondering how long the wait is going to be after we submitted the requested infor they need.
Has anyone got RFE before n how long the wait to get the NOA2.?
-
Thanks for the reply.
I am thinking of going to the US on visa waiver program for 3mths while I wait but I m not too sure whether it will affect my k1 application
-
Hi
It has been 5mths and we are yet to receive NOA2, what should I do?
I checked the status online and found out that the last time it has touched was in dec2011, I am gettimg worried that for the past few mths, our file was not even look at by anyone. I really do not know what is holding them up. Shld my fiancé call them to check? Can we ask for for expediate? I am going crazy here and the wait is getting longer and longer. :-(

Hi!
New to forum and wish we found this site earlier. Maybe then we wouldn't have gotten an RFE for sending in pictures with no information written on the back >.<
In any case, we just received our approval (NOA2) on March 22. We're wondering if anyone has gone through the K1 process in Singapore recently and if they'd be willing to give us an idea of what the US Embassy needs mailed back to them and what is needed for the interview?
We're hoping that most of the waiting is out of the way now
Hi Axiata,
finally I saw someone from Sg in this forum.
I need to check with you when did you submit yr K1 application? Mine was submitted late Nov2011 and is still waiting for the Approval. May I know how long it take for yours to be approve?
The waiting time seem so slow.....
I hope to hear from you soon
