Hi,
I have applied for I130/I485 and my AOS interview has been scheduled on July 12th, 2012. My spouse changed her job during the process and we sent I-864 with her previous employment data.
What should I do now as she changed her job 2 weeks back ? Do I need to send a new I-864 or should I take it during AOS interview ?
Please guide me as I am unaware of the process.
Regards,
Smpro

Hello everyone,
I received a notification for Bio-metrics today
It has been scheduled for 5/22/2012. Do my wife (petitioner) has to come with me ? It just says on the notice that applicant have to be present at the schedule time with mentioned documents and appointment letter.
My wife is travelling in that week and she wouldn't be able to attend. Is she required ?
Let me know...
Thanks...

Hello everyone,
Its good to have a topic for April 2012 filers.
I filed my application on 25th April and it was received on 27th April. It shows 27th April on I-130 received date and 1st May on I-485 received date.
My checks were cashed on 3rd May and I received 4 receipts numbers on 2nd May. I still haven't received an receipts in mail yet.
Not sure, if other filers have received mail receipts or any updates on Bio-metrics. I will update my profile timely and I would urge everyone to share their thoughts and updates.
I130/485 sent: April 25, 2012
I130/765/131 received: April 27, 2012
I485 received: May 1, 2012
Email notification of receipts(4): May 2, 2012
Cash checked: May 3, 2012

I would appreciate if someone can help us for Affidavit of Support. This scenario is blocking us from applying for I-130/485.
My wife's income is above poverty line as mentioned in 2011 and 2010 tax returns. She was below poverty line in 2009 as she started working in that year. I have been working on H1B visa for last 3 years and have income above poverty line for last 3 years.
Can she file I-864 and we also include I-864a (contract between sponsor and household member) to show above poverty line wages for last 3 years ? OR should file I-864EZ only ? But it will show below poverty line in 2009 tax return.
Thanks...

Hi,
My wife is a U.S citizen and I am on H1B visa. We will be filing I-130/485 soon and had a question for I-864 Affidavit of Support.
Can I show my income, W-2 and tax returns with my wife (sponsor) for I-864 ? Can we show both of our incomes ? Someone told us that our case would be stronger if we show both of our incomes in I-864 form.
Please give us your feedback.
Thanks...

I appreciate everyone for expressing your concerns. I am on H1-B visa and tied to my employer. I cannot leave my job and move with her as it will revoke my status. She has been looking for jobs in MA to move here but its hard to get a job in this current economy.
Little_My : I feel that you understand my situation better and thanks for sharing your experience.
I am thinking of applying in next two weeks. If nothing works in next 2 months (AOS interview might get scheduled in 3 months) then she will leave her job and come here to stay with me. Please suggest if this sounds logical and doesn't raise any issues during AOS interview...
Btw we know each other since 7 years and started going out 2 years back. Marriage and Love is definitely prior than job but not everyone is financially stable to manage expenses and save for the future.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts...

Hi,
I will be applying for I-130/I-485 green card application soon. I have gathered all supporting documents and ready to submit but have an unusual scenario.
I recently got married and work in MA. My wife works in NJ and has been working there before marriage. I am on H1-B visa and she is a U.S citizen. Although we are married and have same legal residence, we commute every week to see each other as she works in NJ.
She has been looking for jobs but haven't been able to get anything in MA. As she is sponsoring me (as per I-864 form), it is difficult for her to leave work.
I have lease documents, bank statements, credit card and marriage certificate for showing evidence of joint life and faith. I want to know if there is anything else I need to attach to application forms ? I have gathered all documents but not sure how to handle this scenario.
I went through blogs and articles and many people have mentioned negative thoughts.
I would greatly appreciate for guidance.

Thanks Harpa for your response.
So I just need to fill up a new I-864 and get supporting documents during the interview.
I dont need to send it to USCIS, right ?
Thanks,
