  3. so question.....does he really have to wait 5 years to get his citizenship?? Or can he get it any time?? Also.....to bring a spouse or fiance or whatever (never sure if he was really married to that girl or not or if they just referred to each other as husband and wife) I know takes years to bring as just a GC holder....honestly I hope the b*tch never comes to the US...she was just as much apart of this elaborate scam as he was.

PS--my friend is now married to a really good man and very happy.... :)

That was terrible! How can some people do such a thing! Im glad your friend is happily married now with a wonderful guy... She deserves it. Well anyways, since the ex husband was divorced by his then K1 petitioner, his 3 year wait to become a citizen will now become a 5 year wait.. If he's done with the ROC, he has approx another 3 year wait before he can file for naturalization.. ( well that's from my own understanding..)

And about him being a green card holder and wants to file a spousal visa for his wife from his own country ( a green card holder cannot file for a K1, he has to wait to become a USC.), I think it will take longer than a year since they will have to wait till their priority date becomes current so they gotta wait longer than a year I bet, depending on their country. They will have to check on the current visa bulletin if what priority dates are being processed right now.. But as soon as the guy becomes a citizen, a visa will become available for the spouse and will speed things up..

  4. hi im a new RN too. Im glad to see suggestions in this post.. People here in vj are so helpful as always..

Scarlet, do you have your work permit already? I dont have mine yet, but we can help each other out in finding a job once i had my EAD. Dont lose hope.. We can make it!

    God bless! :)

  5. As an inexperienced nurse, you might want to look beyond the major medical employers/hospitals such as Kaiser Permanente, UCLA Medical and Cedars-Sanai for your first job and try to get some experience by starting with skilled nursing care facilities, subacute or nursing homes. However, continue to monitor the posted jobs by the major hospitals on a daily basis. I've seen RN listings for Good Samaritan Hospital (Good Sam) requiring as little as 6 months experience, but know the competition for those is fierce.

Are you familiar with/or registered with sites such as nurse.com and allnurses.com? Click the allnurses.com link to read about the experience of a new RN grad and note the tips she recommends when seeking an RN position, also you can network with other nurses on that site and network with nurse groups in the LA area on fb.

Keep your head up and best wishes.

    Scarlet,

Just a suggestion, I work for Los Angeles County have you applied for a county job? They seem to need nurses all the time.

  6. It was last Thursday, Sept 13, 2012..Came at USEM at 5.45 am for my 7.30 appointment. Was inside the USEM at about 7am..

Was done at fingerprint scan at 8.30.

Number flashed for filipino pre interviewer at 9.30.. Asked for my NSO birth cert, NBI, CENOMAR, my fiance's I-134, Recent 1040 and 1099.. She asked to see our photos too. I have made a portfolio of evidence of relationship and evidence of meeting w/in 2 years but she didn't asked for it. The interviewer was really polite and nice. It was like she's just having a small chit chat w/ me.

    Questions are:

    Name of petitioner

    his age and bday

    his address

    his work

how did he get to the US

was he married before, when did they broke up, does he have kids?

when and how did we met

when did we actually became a couple

how many times have he visited me

when was the last time I saw my fiance

after that she said she wish other applicants were like me coz my papers are complete and organized. And she wished me good luck and told to be sitted again. I was so happy and thanked for like 4x?? lol.

Waited for my number again and it flashed at 10.45. -interview w/ the american consul.

She was a sweet and nice lady at about early 30's. Questions are:

    Name of my fiance

    his age bday and address

was he a filipino born and raised in the US?

Did he studied here in the Phil? what course?

    Whats his job?

When and how did you meet?

So tell me how the two of you became a couple?

How many times did he visited you?

Then she said, "okay just a few more verifications" and checked some of my dcouments. Then finally she told me, "okay ma'am I'm approving your visa!" I thanked her and she asked, So, have you started planning your wedding?" I said not yet, maybe we'll just start tomorrow.. and she laughed. she congratulated me again and told to wait again for my number. I thanked her for like 4x too. hehe..

My number flashed again at 11.20 and the guy at 2go window told me to wait for 2go's text so i can pick up my visa. I was out of the embassy at 11.30am!!

Thank God we're done!!! and thank you vj pals who helped us out w/ this entire process. my documents will not be that organized if not for VJ. thank you and good luck everyone!!

  7.   thats better, maybe she can have the divorce decree original anyway she might bring it back to US when she flies and is it true that scanned copy of 1040 and W2 is okay to bring to the interview... well im quiet confused here lols :) its better to ask than taking it seriously lols

Yup scanned copies of 1040 and W2 are okay.. As I've said, a friend of mine was now done with her interview and she only brought scanned copies of 1040 and w2. But of course every CO is different so if you have doubts about it just bring the originals for your peace of mind. I was just saying this to help the starter of this thread coz she said her documents hasn't arrived yet. :)

Check out this post, talkin about the same topic.. :)

  8. hello VJ's...!!

My CENOMAR is dated oct. 2011 and my interview is this coming sept. 7, 2012. My fiancee send me his W2,taxes,divorce papers etc. but until now i haven't receive it.

    MY QUESTIONS:

1.) Do i need to get a new CENOMAR?

2.) Is it OK if i will bring SCAN documents on my INTERVIEW?

ARE ANYONE HERE WHO've Tried bringing scan docs in ther interview?!!

    need your advice guys... tanx

Yes you need to get a new Cenomar, as far as I know, Cenomar is valid for only 6 months.

I have a friend who was done with her interview and she just brought a scanned copy of 1040 and W2.. Keep in mind that I134 should be in original copy.. For divorce decree, I think scanned copy is okay but you still might be needing the original once the CO ask for it for reference..

Btw, can't you track the documents online?

Good luck on your interview!! Hope you'll get approved! God bless! :)

  9. Hi! I am just wondering if my fiance still needs to attend the CFO seminar if he aready attended this a few years back when he went to Dubai as an OFW. Is the seminar different if he's going here in US on K1 visa?

He has to attend a CFO seminar again, but with a different type of seminar this time.... Counseling for spouses and fiances of USC, and not for Dubai workers. :)

check this link for further information

  10. I saw on the sample here on vj that the last part of DS 156 has this information written just above the bar code:

    FILTERED NAMES

When 'None' or 'NA' are entered into any of the following the fields: 'Other Surnames Used', 'Other First

and Middle Names Used', and 'National Identification Number', the text will be removed by the EVAF

software from the data in the 2D barcode. If the applicant's name actually is None or NA the post must

enter the name manually into NIV or RDS. The following fields have been removed:

    - 'NONE' was removed from the 2D barcode for Item 8 (Other Surnames Used)

    - 'NONE' was removed from the 2D barcode for Item 9 (Other First and Middle Names Used)

    - 'NONE' was removed from the 2D barcode for Item 14 (National Identification Number)

Now I'm wondering why I dont have that on my DS 156? I have all the other infos written on it just like on the sample form (my name, bar code number boxes no. 29, 30 and 31 and the bar code image), only these FILTERED BLAH BLAH BLAH is missing.. Is that okay?

  11. just an update. for those whose wondering if they can go to SLEC without the hassle of the flood. i took a different route today. yesterday i passed EDSA going to Roxas Blvd as the flood is not that bad in that area. today i took the MRT/LRT to UN Ave and the street is a little flooded. i can't walk to SLEC from UN because of the flood so i took a pedicab. They said its 6o pesos but I waited to get a great deal of 35 pesos. lol! pedicab drivers took advantage of the weather. if you're not good at haggling, then be prepared to pay 60. when i was done with my immunization, the water already subsided and the sun started shining. :) so i just took a 10 mins walk from SLEC to LRT.

great information! thank you sis!! God bless you and good luck on your interview! :)

  12. To us, our National ID number is the most important piece of ID we have. It's the same number we use for our Driver's License and Passport; but in In Argentina you can't use your Driver's License as a form of ID other than to prove that you can drive.. you need to show your National ID if you need to do something that requires proof of identity.

    biggrin.gif

I was already OC before we started the whole visa journey... rofl.gif

Oh now i get it... I think we don't have that kind of ID here in the Philippines.

About the OC thing, glad to know Im not alone!

    Again, THANK YOU :)

  13. With questions 1, 3,3 and 5; you should be fine... but with #2: Do you have a National ID number? I do and I completed mine with it. I don't know why the example calls for NONE on that box.

Either way, there's a very easy fix for this, if you want re do the form.... do just that. Start over, discard the previous one and presto! good.gif

PS: Don't worry about how many DS156 you are generating. The bar code that contains all the information is for them to scan... it's not like it's sent electronically and generates multiple forms for you.

I don't even know whats National Identification Number, what is it by the way? lol.

I'm relieved to know that I can redo the DS 156 without a hassle.. I think I'm being O.C. because of this K1 process.. I've been checking the forms for like 10x without being satisfied. huhu :crying: . But anyways, thank you so much!

  14. Hi vj friends.

I am now finishing my DS forms online and I am done with the DS 156. Unfortunately I wasn't aware that this site has an example answered form available and so I wasn't able to check that before I did my DS 156. Now i think I made a few mistakes on filling up my form... And those are....

    1. First, I didn't used capital letters on all my answers, I used CAPS only on my surname and the word PHILIPPINES.

    2. I didn't put anything on the National Identification number. On the example form in VJ, the answer is NONE.

    3. On the question, "how long do you intend to stay in the US?" I answered, " For good" instead of PERMANENTLY just like on the example form.

    4. On the question, " what is the purpose of your trip?" I answered, " To marry my fiance and be with him" instead of MARRIAGE AND RELOCATION just like on the ex form.

    5. And lastly, and the worst that bothers me is the question, "Do you intend to work in the US?" I just checked the box "NO" coz it states on the lower portion that I should provide the employer if my answer is yes. I saw in the example form that the answer should be like WITH WORK AUTHORIZATION, EMPLOYER UNKNOWN. I honestly want to work in the US of course, but I have no specific plans yet because I'm still here so I just answered NO. OMG, would they think I am lying about it?

If my answers on my form are not acceptable, can I accomplish a new DS 156 online? I am worried that it isn't possible because of the bar code thing... I am afraid it will result on having 2 DS 156 forms on their file which will cause me problems.. Help pls!

PS. Sorry I think Im being O.C or something.. I am really worried :(
