  1. So  take it, we should go the CFO office in Cebu and since my step daughter is under 12yrs old, no appt is necessary  and have them reissue or just put another sticker in the new passport?  Sounds to easy to be true....  did you know anyone with a similar situation like ours?

  2. My stepdaughter got the CFO sticker back in 2014 when she had her immigrate visa and came to Guam with her Mom and me.  A year later she went back to the Philippines and stayed there for 2 years.  Just recently she got approved for a SB-1 Visa and will be coming back to Guam to be the her Mom and me.  Since she already has a CFO sticker from 2014 does she need to get another one for  her SB-1 Visa?  I would think the first CFO  sticker would be ok, I did not see a expired date on it., just a issued date.

  3. Two years ago my wife and daughter left Guam and went back to the Philippines, she was not happy here, after a month or so my wife came back but left her daughter with her Mama,  Mama kept her there, kept her passport and green card did not want her to returned to Guam.  After two years, Mama said we could take her daughter back to Guam. So I applied for a SB-1(returning resident visa}, it was approved, now I need to file for  returning resident visa.  Since she is in the philippines  this will be done at the Embassy in Manila.   I already have a case #... so I submitted the DS-260.

Has anyone gone through the process of SB-1 Returning Resident Visa?

I would like to know how it went for you?

    Many Thanks...Mark

  4. It says for the visa interview to have the MRV receipt. Is that required for DCF filing? I filed DCF in the Philippines but never got a MRV receipt.

My wife and her daughter just did their DCF at Manila last week, you do not need the MRV receipt since you have not paid it yet. You will pay for it inside the Embassy during the interview. Just bring all the docs you need and the letter or e-mail from the Embassy that has your appt date and time on it.

  5. After our interview my wife and I were talking about settling in Guam instead of going to the U.S. mainland. She is Filipino and she would be closer to the Philippines if she needs to return their for some reason. If entering in Guam with her IR-1 visa will this be possible, or does she have to enter the US Mainland to fulfill the IR-1 process?

  6. On the I-864 Part 5 Sponsor's Household Size: I have a step daughter and a new born son, do they both go in #4 (If you have dependent children, enter the number here.?

I listed our son on our joint fed tax return (he has a SS#) and I did not list my step daughter (she does not have a SS#). Does anyone know if this is correct?

Or do I put my step daughter in #4 and my son in #5?

Sort of confused on this part.

  7. I just did the same thing you did, DCF at Manila, I have my wife's and her daughter's interview on Jan 23rd. With regards to the DS-260, you need to print confirmation page and bring it to your interview. You bring all your docs to the interview, you do not mail them!!! You do not need to do the DS-261, if you go back to the website you filled out the DS-260 on and try click on the DS-261 link, you can't, it won't work. You need to do the I-864 and bring that also to your interview.

Follow the instructions on this website and you should be fine. If any other questions just post and I will try to answer you.

  8. The few that I have read of going through Guam didn't have any issues, and it didn't take very long, plus the airport is not all that large.

You will still go through customs at the first airport within the USA proper (territories don't count for this)

I plan to have Guam as my POE, we will be spending 1-2 months there on vacation before going the US mainland. So I take it we will go customs at Guam since we will be spending sometime there.

  9. On the DS-260, you only put people who are applying for visas, so your wife and daughter. It's actually the same thing on the old DS-230, just the wife and daughter. That question isn't referring to US citizens travelling with the beneficiaries.

As for the employment question, just put "unemployed", then the dates Oct 2009 to present. That's what I did for mine as I was unemployed at the time.

Sorry but your wrong...on the DS-260 you cannot put the word "present". it won't let you, I tried, it has to be the year...maybe on the DS-230 you could but not on the DS-260.

  10. I have some questions on my wife's DS-260.

I petitioned for my wife (IR-1) and her daughter (IR-2) and they were approved.

On the old DS-230 I had down: me, her daughter, and our new born son, since it said who will accompany you to the United States.

But on the DS-260 it says who will immigrate with you to the United States: I take it I should just put her daughter? Me and our son are both US citizens, we will accompany my wife, but we will not immigrate to the United States. Is my thinking correct?

And on the employment question, my wife's last job ended in Oct 2009 and since then she has been with me at home, as a homemaker. do I need to put that down under employment? If I do not there will be a gap in her timeline from Oct 2009 to present?

  11. Thank you...just wanted to make sure. We're also packing about 4-5lbs under just to account for discrepancies in scales.

Yes I also check and you are allowed 2 free checked bags. I just went back to the united states on United and was allowed only 1 free checked bag....lucky you...
