Thanks for the clarification! Appreciate the input!

We will be filing soon to remove conditions on residency for my wife. I see it's $590 to file the I-751. Do you complete the biometrics before? Or do you fill out the I-751 with appropriate documentation? I'm been getting confused on what iv been reading. Thanks all.

These items are not necessary, not needed, and would make no difference for your mother in-law's visa application. Her visa application will be decided based on what her ties to the Philippines are.
I read that. She has a job, home, etc in the Philippines. So I hope it wont be a problem.
-
I would write an invitation letter, outline her length of stay etc., give it a shot.
Yeah, I was thinking about doing that. I dont see how sending that stuff would hurt. If they dont even look at it, o well, atleast it will be in there if needed.

VJ,
Good Afternoon and Happy Holiday to everyone.
My wife and I are living in South Carolina. She came to the U.S. on a CR-1 visa (POE was Dallas/Fort Worth on Aug 28th, 2012). We were living in Japan before we came to the states. I am in the military. We have a 2 month old son and we really would like it if my mother-in-law could finally see and spend time with him.
We would like her mother, my mother-in-law, to visit us. She lives in Manila, Philippines.
I have been looking things up on here and on the US Embassy site for Manila.
We assume she would come over here on a B-2.
It states on the site all she needs to do is fill out the DS-160, have a valid passport, and a passport size photo.
Do you think it would be necessary to send them my bank info, pay stubs, letter requesting her to visit, etc.
Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Any examples of letters sent or guides would be helpful as well.
Thank you all!

You should get an email from the NVC with your case number and invoice number. As soon as you get a case number you can email the DS 3032. You need your case number and invoice number to pay the AOS fee on the NVC payment portal website
-
Leatherneck I am.
I sent the AOS last week.
I got the email saying my DS 3032 was approved then got some weird email after saying I still needed to file my DS 3032. When I called the NVC they said everything is correct and my DS 3032 was accepted. I used the email form for the DS 3032

So I confirmed with the NVC that my DS 3032 was accepted.
They said over the phone everything is up to date.
When will I be able to pay the IV payment? I logged into the payment portal and it shows were I paid the $88 for the AOS and then below for the IV section it has no box I can select, no amount of how much it will be and my wifes name is no longer there.
Anyone know what is going on with that? I thought after your DS 3032 got accepted you could pay the IV?
We requested an expedite and request the interview be changed from Manila to Tokyo.
Thanks for the help!

So my wife and I received a couple emails from the NVC today. Here is a quick run down of what the emails were.
- I requested an expedite due to an upcoming deployment. Said they were gonna review and email me a response.
- I requested to change my wifes interview location from Manila (where she was born) to Tokyo (where she lives with me). NVC representative on the phone said to send in supporting docs and it should be fine. Same as above. Got an email saying they were the review and email me a response.
Then I got this regarding my DS-3032.
We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and
Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying
the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future
correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the
DS-3032.
Does that mean it was approved?
My wife then received an email about a checklist.
It said that when I submit physically submit forms to the NVC I need to have a bar coded cover sheet. When I mailed off my AOS I printed off the barcoded sheet and it was with the whole package I mailed off. but below that is says correspondence instructions. It begins to talk about the DS-3032 and how they are still waiting on one to be selected? #######?
-
Also, am I allowed to hand carry my police certificates?
I see they are part of the IV package but the police here and the embassy here (Tokyo) both told me not to open the SEALED envelope that they would do that the day of the interview.
So can I just write on the cover page that I will hand carry the police cert?
-
I'm guessing your case number was assigned earlier than yesterday if you waited to receive the email about it. Usually it takes a few days from NVC assigning the case number to actually receiving the email package about it. That's why the AOS was already invoiced when you logged into the payment portal as it usually takes a few days from case number assigned to AOS being invoiced.
As for the DS-3032, keep in mind, it's taking around a week or so for NVC to respond. In the meantime, just get your IV package ready.
Thats what possibly could have happened. I continued to call them but they still said I had no case number then one morning at work I got the emails about it.
I am getting the IV package together now.
We have everything other than my Wifes NBI clearance. She has one but it expired this month. She will travel to the Philippines to get it renewed.
Medical, Japanese police clearance and base police clearance already complete!
-
GOt ya.
Thats what I did. Put my last 3 years info on the I-864 but only send this years.
I was surprised too. I paid it yesterday at work as soon as they emailed us the information regarding out invoice number, case number, etc.
They sent two separate emails with attachments.
I got into work today check it on the portal site and it said paid. Check my bank and sure enough the money was taken out.
So I printed off the bar code sheet and already had everything together and mailed it off!
Still waiting for them to let me know about my DS 3032. Need that to pay the IV and get that mailed off!
-
Question for the AOS. On the I-864 it asks if you just want to send the most recent tax return or the past 3 years. Is it required to send the past 3 years?!? I just mailed off the AOS with only this years return and W2...
-
Grats on finally getting your case number!
Now that you've sent the DS-3032 email and paid the AOS fee, you wait. Get the AOS package ready while waiting.
Great! Thanks you as always!!!!
The IV fee is only invoiced after the DS-3032 has been accepted, which should be in a week or so.
You have to wait for the AOS to appear as PAID in the payment portal before you can send the AOS package. And you have to wait for the IV to appear as PAID in the payment portal (once it's invoiced and you pay it) before you can send out the IV package.
The address for the AOS package will be on the AOS bar-coded cover sheet from the payment portal. The address for the IV package will be on the IV bar-coded cover sheet.
Not sure what happened but thank you! I really appreciate it!!!!

Also
What is the correct mailing address for the NVC?

I just received my NVC case number today. I sent the choice of agent using the email format on this website.
Also, I paid the AOS ($88).
What's next?
When can I pay the IV portion?
Can I go ahead and mail off the I 864 and DS 230 with required documents? Or do I wait?
Thanks for the assistance all!!!!

Apparently they have my stuff in there system but I havent been assigned a case number yet. Do you know how long this takes? Should I call them back early next week and see of they have the case number??

I called the NVC just a few minutes ago and the lady on the phone said they received I-130 approval. She said they will send stuff to agent of choice. I never filled that out. I told her that and that I live with my wife overseas in Japan she said that is fine and it can still be mailed her. I then asked her if she needed our email addresses. That it should be on the info from the USCIS. She said she didnt have access to my stuff at the NVC but its there. Has anyone ever heard of this?
From what I have read I should be able to call, get a NVC case number, fill out the email formatted choice of agent and email it to them.
She told me just to wait 10 days and I should be receiving something in the mail. I would like to go ahead and pay this the visa payment off.
Confused to say the least.
thanks again all!

Question for anyone. I keep reading the I need to send in my wifes police clearances in to the NVC for processing, but I am also reading and told by people here in Japan that I need to hand carry the police clearances to the Embassy. I was instructed that the Consuler needs to be the one to open it.
So do I send it in or bring it the day of the interview?
Thanks!

I didnt bring any letter to medical here. I just looked on the US Embassy in Japan website and found out what Medical clinics they accepted for her Visa and made an appointment and went.
All they asked her was her Passport, a photo, medical record from base, and paid.
that was it. Her medical is good until October and I leave in September so I hope its done!

Like I said if the NVC has a military helpline I would love to have that number. I just wish they would get my stuff... I will email them and keep calling until I get my case number.
Appreciate all the inputs!
-
You are welcome.
and I used the military helpline when I was dealing with the USCIS. Now that its not with them anymore I dont believe that the NVC has a military helpline.
I have just been calling the normal number.

I called the NVC to see if they have received my approved I-130 from the USCIS. They told me they still have not. My notice on the approval letter was dated March 22.
The lady informed me to scan in the document and email it to NVCRESEARCH? Has anyone heard of this? I looked on this website briefly but did not find it. Should I be emailing it somewhere else?
I am pressing for time since I will be leaving on deployment soon!
Thanks all!

Also, does it matter if the font is all caps or upper/lower case?
BIOMETRIC APPOINTMENT, WHAT TO DO AFTER
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
All,
Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening,
My wife had her biometrics about 2 months ago (applying for her 10 yr green card. She has been in the US for 2 years). We were there for maybe 10 minutes. She took her picture, answered a few questions, and they stamp some papers.
That was it and they told us she was done.
What do we need to do after that, if anything?
Are we supposed to submit something or are we just in a waiting game?
Thanks for the help.
