  1. Hi Everybody,

I am still helping my uncle process his papers.  My uncle submitted the financial and civil documents in one package.  Yesterday, he received this email of "notice of missing item: please submit civil documents".  The letter did not attach any checklist for a specific item.  Tried calling NVC but they are closed for the weekend.  Will call them on Monday.  Should I resend the whole package of civil documents?  On the CEAC website, it states that IV application is completed.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Attached is the email:

****NVC Notice of Missing Item: Please submit civil documents ****

    Good day,
The National Visa Center (NVC) received the documents you submitted in support of XXX's immigrant visa petition. This petition's NVC case number is xxxxxxx. However, NVC will not review these documents until we receive the required civil documents for each intending immigrant. Please follow the online instructions at nvc.state.gov/document (English) or nvc.state.gov/documento/espanol (Spanish) to learn which civil documents you need to submit.

Please submit photocopies of these documents. Do not send original certificates to NVC.  Once you've gathered the required civil documents, send them to NVC. Instructions on how to send your documents to NVC are online at nvc.state.gov/submit (English) or nvc.state.gov/enviar/espanol (Spanish). If you have any questions, please call 1-603-334-0700 or use NVC's online inquiry form at nvc.state.gov/ask (English) or nvc.state.gov/ask/espanol (Spanish).

For current processing times, please visit our website at nvc.state.gov/submit (English) or nvc.state.gov/enviar/espanol (Spanish).

Reminder:  This is only a notice that we received documents from you. We will not review them until we have received both the financial documents from the petitioner and the applicant's civil documents. You must also have paid all required fees and submitted a DS-260 Immigrant Visa application online at ceac.state.gov._______________________________________________________________________________

    IMPORTANT:
If your visa petition is currently processing at the National Visa Center, do not let more than one year pass without contacting NVC. If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact (by telephone, mail, or e-mail) with NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire. If this occurs, the fees must be paid again and documents must be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

    Sincerely,
    National Visa Center
    U.S. Department of State

  2. Hi Everybody,

My spouse is in the process of filling up N-400 form.  He came here with a fiance visa.  We have been married for 5.5 years, and he has the green card for 5 years this March.  What is the best path to take? What would he answer on the number 1 question:  lawful resident for at least 5 years OR lawful resident for 3 years and been married and living with the same US citizen spouse?

    Thank you

  3. Hi Everybody,

My uncle is in the process of filling up his 1-864 for his spouse.  His income is under the required level.  My uncle is residing with me.  I am planning to be his co-sponsor.  Do I need to fill up I-864 or I-864a (same household?).  He is not my dependent nor I am his dependent in filing tax return.  Does living in the same place constitute being the same household (I-864a)?

    Thank you.

  4. hi. we are in the same boat. my husband was diagnosed with latent TB during our visit to the civil surgeon. he was referred to infectious disease doctor (opted for ID doctor instead of going to the health department). he was also advised to take the TB meds but he decided not to take it. this was all written on the consult note that was included in the I-693. result of the cxr was also included in the sealed I 693 envelope sent with all our papers... we sent our application in september 2011. last week, we received an rfe for the I 693. it stated that the radiologist read the cxr but wrote it as normal but has some artifacts that might be due to clothing!!! went back to the civil surgeon, had another cxr and sent another form of I 693. we sent the rfe last friday and we are still waiting...
