  1. Hello. My husband and I sent my AOS package on February 2, 2012. We received a confirmation text from USCIS on the 12th of February and two days later, I got my biometrics notice in our mailbox. I think you should call the Department of Homeland Security and inquire about the status of your application. Try calling this number. 1-800-375-5283. That's the number written on my NOA1. :)

  2. Hello everyone!

I am new here and i hope you guys could help me and my fiancé. We wanted to start filing for fiancé visa but i am a noob and i do not know anything about how to start. I am in california and he is in the philippines. I saw a website rapidvisa.com but i am kinda skeptical with it since i automatically think that those sites are a scam. I was wondering if anyone in here is goin through the same thing and walk me through? Also, will it be easier if we apply for a fiancé visa or a working visa?

    Thank you so much.

    Best regards,

    Michelle

Getting a lawayer just makes things complicated, plus it is costly based on the experiences I read on VJ. My fiance and I and just filed by ourselves. We didn't get any RFE and we were approved. All you have to do is to follow the instructions and read the tips here in VJ. I had my interview last October 19, 2012. There was a K1 applicant whose some documents were missing because their lawyer didn't inform them to gather those documents like CENOMAR and NBI.

  5. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Does the process you went through to correct your birth certificate also apply to any and all changes someone may want to make to their birth certificate?

Hello Tahoma. First, I'd like to congratulate you and Chinook. :)

When I had my birth certificate ammended in 2006, it took 3-5 months I think. Mine was under RA 9048. I didn't follow it. I filed it in October 2006 with my suporting documents in the LCR and it was endorsed by the LCR to NSO main in December 2006. I got my annotated NSO BC in 2007. The head of the NSO where I live now told me that follow-up is very important. You have to make sure that the LCR endorses it to NSO main in Quezon City. It took them more than 2 months to endorse my annotated local certificate of live birth. To make it fast, after you get the endorsement from the LCR, file it yourself or ask someone to file it for your annotated NSO birth certificate. If you don't apply asap, you will wait more than 2 months to get your NSO annotated birth certificate.

  6. Hello everyone. I would like to share my experience in connection with my middle name in my NSO birth certificate. This might help some of my fellow Filipino VJ members.

As the date of my interview approaches, I'm becoming a bit nervous and keep on checking on my documents and forms. I had my NSO birth certificate corrected way back in 2006 due some errors. I was able to get the PRC licensure examination and my passport without any problem with my annotated NSO BC. However, something made me worry. My middle name in my annnotated NSO BC is blank, or no entry. My parents are married. It's just that there is no entry in my middle name. It is blank. I was thinking if it would be an issue at the US Embassy in Manila. I didn't bother about my middle name before for I didn't have any problem with the PRC and the DFA. I have always used my mom's maiden surname as my middle name in all of my legal documents and school records even though it is blank in my NSO BC. It is a common knowledge in the Philippines that a legitimate child uses the mom's maiden surname as child's middle name. I told my fiance about it and we decided that I should have it fixed. Better to be safe especially the processing here in the Philippines moves like a turtle.

To make the story short, I filed for a supplemental report. The supplemental report is applicable for those who don't have first name, no gender, baby boy and baby girl name entry, etc. Here are the steps that I underwent.

    1. I went to the local NSO in our province and inquired about my "blank middle name" in my NSO BC. The officer typed an affidavit of supplemental report which I signed afterwards. It was also notarized by our Municipal Mayor. (You can also ask a lawyer to make an affidavit of supplemental report for you.)Bring your NSO birth certificate. If you have the local certificate of live birth, bring that too. You should also get a "sedula" which will be used in the affidavit.

    2. I was given a supplemental report form and signed it.(It was prepared by a clerk).

    3. Since I was not born in the town where I live, the NSO head officer needs to send it to the town where I was born. I am from Visayas and I was born in Northern part of Luzon. Toooo far. I asked her that I would be the one to send it through LBC to make it faster.

    4. I called my aunt (mom's side) to process my birth certificate for me. The Local Civil Registry's head in the place where I was born signed the documents and made an endorsement letter to NSO main in East Avenue Quezon City. I told my aunt to mail it through LBC so it would arrive the next day. (You better do the sending of the documents to speed up the process).

    5. I was told by the LCR officer that it would take two months to have my middle name annotation in my NSO BC. :wow: Oh no!!! So what I did was I called the NSO main in Quezon City and asked how to speed up the process. If possible, I want to get it before my interview.

    6. The clerk in the NSO main told me that as soon as the documents from the LCR are sent, I can apply for the annotated certificate of live birth (SECPA) in NSO Queztion city. The processing is 3 weeks. Relieved!!! Bring the LBC receipt and copied supplemental documents from LCR.

    7. I asked my cousin in Manila to file my annotated BC for me in NSO main in Quezon city. My aunt who processed my birth certificate where I was born sent the extra documents that the NSO clerk gave her and the LBC official receipt.

    8. My cousin filed for my annotated birth certificate (SECPA) at NSO main. She told me it was fast. She just asked the guard where to file it. Thank you Lord. My NSO BC with my middle name will be released 3 days before my interview. I will just pick it up at NSO Quezon City.

    9. Oh I paid more than 500 pesos for the supplemental report including the LBC fee.

I have read a lot of helpful information in VJ. I believe in Golden Rule. I hope I can help some people who are experiencing the stress I had few days ago.

  7. Hello every I have some question in my mind that some one can help me. I understand that St. Luke will schedule my interview after 2 months culture...My question is: How long I gonna wait St. Luke reschedule my interview? Does anyone know if St. Luke have this reserve appointment time ahead or they schedule the first available slot like every one else? I really appreciate your reply guys..God Bless

    Lulu

Hello :) I think it is better you don't wait for St. Lukes to reschedule your interview so you can get an early interview schedule. I had an advanced medical at St. Lukes. I was treated for minimal ptb 6 years ago and it left a small scar on my upper right lung. I read on VJ that even though it is a lung scar, the applicant still needs to undergo the dreaded sputum test and it is advisable to have an advanced medical to save time. (Thank you VJ members.) After the pulmonary evaluation, I asked the medical technologist if it is okay for my fiance and me to schedule my interview by ourselves. She said yes. My sputum culture result will be released in October and we scheduled my interview 3 weeks ago.

  8. Thank you soooo much. :) I will prepare all the documents. Salamat talaga ha. Congratulations once again.

not 2 nbi but one nbi with aka "also known as" to where your mispelled name before it was corrected, it is very important that you have these nbi with your current name and AKA ( name before it was corrected) for example your name in your birth certificate is

    juan de la cruz

but the correct name should be juan cruz

your nbi should be like this

    Name: juan cruz

    AKA: juan de la cruz

then your cenomar should be 2 copies one cenomar with your corrected name and ask for another form at nso office for requesting cenomar with the mispelled name..

the CO wants to make sure if you are not married from your mispelled name and your current name, thats why they are asking for 2 cenomars and nbi with both names.. hope these info will be helpful to you .. p.s if your birthcertificate is incorrect or mispelled ,your brthcert should have affidavit or annotation ..

if you are married or have been married your nbi should be on current name(maiden), mispelled name and married name ..

  9. wow..:dance::dance::thumbs: a mega congratulations you both...am sure happy for you.

The power of positive thinking. YOu will get yours very soon. :)

  10. Hello everyone :) I am new to this site. I've been reading posts related with PTB scar. I had a minimal ptb in 2005 and I was treated and healed in the same year. I have my medical certificates with me and some of my X-ray films. I always have my annual check-up. My pulmonologist said I had nothing to worry about and my TB is not active and it is just a scar. I haven't had any problem getting a job here because of my medical certificates. Thank God! I've read in this helpful website that the applicants who have irregularities in their X-ray like PTB scar will undergo a three-day sputum test and two-month sputum cultures test. OMG!!! 2 months? I am a positive person but realistic at the same time. I am expecting I will also undergo similar procedures because of my ptb scar. I have a question fellow VJ members. I hope you will help me. :) Is it possible to have a medical exam at SLEC even though you don't have an interview appointment yet? When can I start my medical exam at SLEC? My fiance and I want to be together as soon as possible. Thank you for reading my post. Help please. :)
