  1. Hello there folks,

Well my previous questions were answered when last night, my hubby received a letter in the mail telling him that our papers are under review and that we should be scheduled for an interview between 60 to 120 days from now.. Here's the thing... we were hoping that, since we're looking at another 2 to 4 months of waiting, I could move back to Canada (I'm a Canadian Citizen, as well as a Citizen of Trinidad) Now.. I don't really know what the process is for doing this, if it's possible.. Is the AR-11 only for petitioners to change their address? If it is, then what form would I need to submit to USCIS? Or would we need to re-start the entire case?

There are a lot of reasons we're thinking of this option..The main two are: I'm working right now, but my salary is equal to about 1/6 of a US salary... if I moved, I'd be capable of having a substantial savings when the papers go through and that would be a great help when I move to the US and am looking for a job. Also, if I lived in Canada, I would generally feel a lot safer. I don't live in a very good area right now.. I don't just mean robberies or drugs.. there have been a few times I've actually had to dive to the floor or behind a wall because we've heard gunshots outside our house..

My hubby is planning on calling the Customer Service number tomorrow to see if he can get some solid answers from them as to what we can do, if anything.. but it doesn't hurt to ask you all, since you've helped me before.. so any input is greatly appreciated, Thank you VJ Members.

  2. Hello VJ Users,

My husband and I got our first notice on Oct 13th 2011 and we haven't gotten word since from USCIS. After 6 months my hubby called the Customer Service number and requested information on the status of our case. Today, he recieved a letter telling him that our case is "Pending, awaiting interview scheduling" does that mean that our I-130 is approved and we just need to wait for an interview date now? Or is this just a common update the USCIS uses to say that they're still working on our papers and nothing's been approved yet? I know it sounds like a straight-forward status update, and that it seems like we're really just waiting on an interview date...but I just want to make sure I'm not just reading what I WANT it to say...

  3. Hello VJ members, I was just wondering. My hubby sent our petition in on October 13th 2011, on March 30th our case status message changed to: "The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you." Now I've seen a couple of other posts on here explaining what this notice means... so I'm not asking about that, unless anyone has some useful tips and hints I can give to my hubby since he isn't the most calm person when it comes to interviews...or test taking for that matter.. :) I was hoping more along the lines that someone else who's filed around the same time can calm my nerves by letting me know they're still waiting too :( I've seen people who have filed their visa's after ours who have gotten their approval letters.. and we're just getting a little impatient now.. If you still waiting as well as us though, I wish you a speedy approval!
