Sorry about the late posting. Obviously the list has been updated to reflect the successful Oath ceremony in S.F. for the newest U.S. Citizens from the Bay Area! Meaw, Hanhan and Mohamp along with 1,245 other immigrants from 103 countries became U.S. Citizens in San Francisco on January 7, 2010! Glad it's over with the USCIS! Best of luck for those still waiting. There is indeed an end to the madness.

Seems like three is a lucky number, Meaw received her Oath letter today, we will be joining Hanhan and Mohanp on January 7th in S.F. for the Oath ceremony! Best of luck to all those still waiting.

Congrats and thank you for sharing the details of your wife's interview! If we don't move, I'll be having my interview there in SF next year. I haven't applied yet nor am eligible yet.

I think I'm starting to feel nervous lol not for the interview, but just thinking about driving on the Richmond bridge and finding parking space near Sansome or Washington St. By the way, how much did you pay for parking and where did you park? Parking in SF is pretty steep.

Hi Krakatoa,

I paid nothing for parking. If you go to North Beach you can usually find a spot on top of the hill near Kearny and Vallejo. It's 2 hour parking but the meter maids hate driving their little carts up the hill. I have never gotten a ticket and have parked up there every time. Its about a 10 minute walk to the interview from there, even closer to the ASC where fingerprints are taken. Best of Luck.

Anything about her oath ceremony, or did they hand her certificate as she walked out the door?

Hi Nickd,

She will receive an Oath letter in the mail. The IO told her that her Oath ceremony would be in February. I'm not surprised. They are probably slammed with people trying become permanent residents and naturalize in the Bay Area. It's a real melting pot here.

Hello to All,

Meaw's interview whas scheduled for 10:45 today. We of course arrived early. She was called in at 10:40. She was finished 20 minutes later. It could not have been easier. First she was sworn in. The IO then asked only for her green card. I had loaded Meaw down with at least 100 pages of stuff. None of it was asked for. Not the passport, ID card, marriage license, tax transcripts, nothing! The IO asked her a few questions:

Have you ever been to the U.S. before receiving your visa?

Where do you work?

What does your husband do?

How many times have you been outside the U.S. since becoming a permanent resident?

Did your husband go with you?

I just corrected a small error on my entry. Hope I did it correctly.

Thanks for adding me to the list and thanks for helpful advice from fellow applicants.

I still haven't seen any update on my case. It seem the time is frozen on 9/24/09 even though I have done the finger prints on 10/07/09. Still no interview letter....

However, today I got a yellow letter dated on 11/5/09 from Lees Summit informing me to bring my driver's license or photo ID to the interview. I read it from top to bottom and didn't find a date/place for the interview. So I guess this is NOT an interview letter.

We had our fingerprint appointments at 2PM today at the Philadelphia ASC. We showed up there at 1:35PM with our two kids in tow. There were only about 2 people ahead of us. We were surprised to find that they even have a separate code for people with children (with "with child" written on our forms) such that one could stay at the waiting area while the other could go get fingerprints done first and the second would get fingerprints done immediately thereafter without waiting in line!!

People were nice and things moved pretty fast. We were done and out of there before 2PM!!

The front-desk person at the ASC actually mentioned that it was good that we showed up early for a Friday afternoon appointment, since the Friday afternoon and Saturday appointments tend to be very very crowded and typically lead to long wait times if you don't show up early.

...now the wait for the interview letter.....

Saturday appointments struck me as odd too, so I asked a staff member about it and she said that although Saturday appointments were available routinely for the last 5 yrs. that they are going to be discontinued (in San Francisco) after two more Saturdays. Guess we got in just in time. Nice not to have to miss work to make the appointment. I don't know if Saturday appointments are specific to San Francisco or if they are available nationwide.

Received this e-mail from USCIS this morning. It looks similar to the e-mail that others have received. Possibly an RFE, possibly the biometrics notification. I will be waiting patiently for the mail man today. I hope it is for biometrics as I sent them over 100 pages of documentation! Any thoughts? Please advise.
