  1. SO, Should i fill out a new i-129f form or just fill out packet 3 with correct information? I don't think filling out a new i-129f form would help. I would rather just have my fiancee talk about the issue. I am also thinking about getting the packet 3 and writing a letter stating the issue and sending it back along with packet 3 which will be before the interview. I am just worried if she will be denied visa for not letting them know prior to the interview. Thanks for your reply guys. Would you shed some light again?

  2. I don't know how she got so careless and didn't even convert the date before giving it to me. We filed for fiancee visa for Nepal. We use our own calendar system and all the official documents use native dates. Therefore we have to translate it to English date before filling out any forms that require it. What happened was, she had a date on her mind since her school days which was given to her by a teacher and she had been using it ever since. So she didn't even bother to convert the actual date before giving it to me which was 3 days short from the actual date. NOw the petition has 10/10/85 which should have been 10/13/85. So Our petition now approved and is at the Kathmandu Embassy. She just told me that the date is actually wrong when she went to translate the birth certificates and other documents.

I read some thread earlier having same issues and figured you can talk to embassy directly and amend it. Some said they called National visa center and had them amend it. So what would be the best thing to do? I am planning to write a letter and fax it to the embassy. And also have my fiancee write a letter and fax it along with her birth certificate before picking up the packet. Please advise !!

    Thanks

  4. Dear VJs,

I have some questions regarding Assets and Income requirements.

I currently have about 5000 dollars in checking account and 500 in savings. Can I transfer checking amount to savings and show the statement? I am also planning to borrow some money from a friend to show a little more than 5000 in savings. Will that be a problem since they might see a good amount deposited at once?

In addition I have about $2500 worth of stocks, some gold and car as asset. I am making 15/hr, which comes to 31K annually. Last year I went to see my fiancee and stayed for about 5 months. Therefore,I worked (at different company) only for 7 months and my annual income was about 17K.

SO my question is, should I submit my last year w2 along with current pay stubs and letter from my company? or just current pay stubs and the letter?

Am I good enough to sponsor for my fiancee or should I look for a co-sponsor? I don't have any dependents.

  5. I received my NOA 1 on May 4th. Still waiting for NOA 2. It has already been four months. Should I call them or wait another month coz the processing time is 5 months for Vermont Center. I have seen various timelines where they have gotten their NOA 2 within 3 months. Since it already took this long would I get a RFE after waitng for over 5 months? Or RFE usually are sent within a month or two? I am just worried a little bit.

  6. One of my friend has lived in the states for over 7 years already. He went back to his country on Dec last year. He is returning in June. That way he will exceed his 6 months period. He asked me yesterday if he can apply for citizenship when he comes back after exceeding the 6 months of stay on foreign land. Does anyone know if that will disqualify him from applying for citizenship or since he has already lived for over 7 years it won't matter ?

    Thanks

  7. Here are the some of my concerns. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Do I need to submit the form 134 (Affidavit of Support) for K1 visa? If yes Do I have to send it with copies of my bank account statements, stocks and share account statements and Paystubs/Tax Returns? I just started my job so don't have the tax return yet.

Also What do you put in the line 11 for Form 134? There are two check boxes for I intend to make specific contribution Or I don't. As per ***removed*** for K1 visa you can put N/A. Is this what I should do or should I declare something?

For the 129 Form. Do I need to explain our meetings in detail in a seperate sheet of paper or I could just say I met several times and went to these places. Some pictures are attached ! and so on...

And lastly about the form G325: Biographic Information for my fiancee: Does she have to sign it and mail the original one to me or she could just scan and email it?

    Thanks in advance !

  8. I am filing for K1 pretty soon. I was looking at the processing times for all the four service centers, but the instruction for 129F states to file the application to Texas Center for all the US citizens living here and abroad. I have seen various timelines here in Visajourney which suggests people have filed to other service centers as well. Has it changed for all the states, or it will be forwarded to another service center after getting there (Dallas Lock BOX)?

  9. Hello all,

I would like to know if a cultural ceremony is required to prove our relationship. I recently got naturalized and want to get my girlfriend here to marry. I am from Nepal and we have a tradition of doing cultural engagement ceremony. I am in a situation that neither can I have a engagement ceremony nor I can marry her and apply for immigrant visa.

Our relationship is almost 7 years old and we can show lots of pictures, mails, chats, and msgs to prove our relationship. I have already been to Nepal twice to meet her(last one lasting almost 5 months). I am again going back this July, and want to apply before I go there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    thank you
