A Re-Entry Permit would allow you to stay outside the US for up to 2 years. Only your time outside the US is not counted against you. You will need to maintain ties to the US. Google "re-entry permit" and "maintaining legal permanent residency."
Your time outside the US may affect your ability to naturalize. There is a physical presence in the US requirement.
Thank you aaron2020
Thank you for answering my question. Do you have any information about how I could issue that document? For example, costs, and duration of the whole process. Coudl I do it in the embassy of my country?

I arrived to the U.S.in 2011 having a K-1 visa. I obtained my green card in June 2013. I appreciate any information on how I could fill in the documents to be able stay outside the U.S. for more than 6 months without losing my residence. Also, does frequently traveling outside the U.S. affect my possiblity to obtain citizenship?
Thank you

I arrived to the U.S. in July 2011 with my brothers and mother on K-3 visa as my mother married an American. I have a green since June 2013. My question is the following: Is there a possibility to stay outside the U.S. for more than six months without losing my residence? I heard that possibily exists. I appreciate any help.

I came to the U.S in July 2011 with my mom and brothers on a K1 visa as my mom married and American. I have traveled outside the U.S in three different occasions after that, none of them for more than six months. I received my green card officially on June 2013.
My question, if someone could help me, is the following:
Does frequently leaving the U.S affect my option to apply for a citizenship? As I believe I have to live continuously in the U.S for five years or perhaps three because of the type of visa I have
Thanks for any help I can receive

hi
it stands for green card,
you can download the i131 reentry permit and the instructions from the uscis website
Thank you. Do you have any idea how long the process takes?
-
hi
less than a year, the GC is for living in the US
now if you want to study in your country, then you can get a reentry permit to stay out of the US for up to 2 years
but eventually you need to return to live here or you will end up loosing your GC
Thanks for replying. I don't know what GC is, please tell me. Do you have more information about this? Like price and process?

I came to the U.S. with my mom four and half years ago when she married an American. I received my green card two and half years ago. I simply would like to know if I could do anything to stay outside the U.S without losing my residency. If there is a possibility, for how long can it be?
Thanks for any information.

There are no fiancé visas available for foreign nationals wishing to marry U.S. permanent residents. Fiancé visas are available only to people coming to the United States to marry U.S. citizens.
There are ways to get yourself into the United States if you are the fiancé of a permanent resident, although they may take a long time. You can:
• Marry your fiancé first, then begin the entry process as a spouse of a permanent resident. This method involves your U.S. spouse submitting a visa petition to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Form I-130, and attaching a copy of your marriage certificate; then you waiting (probably several years) for a visa to become available in this category (during which time you have no right to live in the U.S.); then you applying for an immigrant visa and entering the U.S. as a permanent resident. If your spouse becomes a citizen during this time, you automatically become an immediate relative, and can apply for your immigrant visa/green card right away.
• Wait until your fiancé becomes a U.S. citizen, and begin your entry process as a fiancé of a citizen. This method involves your U.S. spouse submitting a visa petition to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Form I-129F, then you applying for a K-1 fiance visa and entering the U.S., then getting married within 90 days and applying for adjustment of status (a green card).
~~moved to what visa do I need from K1 process and procedures~~
You need to be a US citizen to petition for a fiancee. There are no girlfriend visas. Currently as an LPR you would need to be married to petition for a significant other. The process is longer than it is for a USC however.
Do you know anything about the costs? How much money do I have to make to show I can provide for her? Any estimate about how long the process takes?

I came to the U.S with my mom four years ago when she married an American. I've had my green card since June 2013. I simply want to know if I could bring my girlfriend. How much money would the process cost? I work full time and make about 1400 a month. Do I need to make more money than that to prove that I can support someone? I live in northern Virginia. In the case that I could bring her, how long would the process take?
Thank you for your help.

You have been given erroneous information. Here is what you need to know:
https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/820/kw/permanent%20resident/sno/1
but I'm not a U.S. permanent resident, I don't have my green card yet.

ok, but I have been told that I could only be out of the country for six months, is that true? do you know anything about that?
-
ok, thank you, but what do you mean by AP? Advance Parole?
-
I uploaded an image of the seal, can you see it please? and help me find out what it means?
-
This is what the seal looks like
My appointment of biometrics was in April and then got my Authorization card in June and then I flew three weeks ago
If you can help me I would highly appreciate it.

I got my Employment Authorization Card with Advance Parole I-512 in June of 2012, then I flew back to my country 3 weeks ago on October 15 and got back to the United States 2 days ago, but in my passport they put a seal that I would understand it to say that I can't go back to my country again until next year on October 14, but I'm not sure if that's what it really means, I would highly appreciate if somebody explains it to me if I want to go back to my country again in December what could I do, is that possible? I would thank any help and information.
Thanks.

Thank you very much for your information. Do you have information on how long the bio metric appointment will take? Also, I can apply for a permit to stay outside the U.S. up to two years correct?
