  1. Honesty is an opinion. You must have had doubts or you wouldn't have asked. You were wanting opinions so I gave mine because I had a different one from Smiley. He said hubby wasn't charged with anything. I disagree. He was charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor. He has not been convicted yet. It's water under the bridge now and likely wouldnt have resulted in a denial had you updated your answer to that form question. I have no opinion on what you should do. It will resurface if you apply for citizenship in three years, so save every paper, ticket, receipt from anything...even traffic tickets. Some naturalization interviewers insist on more than others. A guy from the UK had to get documents from when he was a young teen in England. My husband reported a traffic ticket and offered receipt of payment and his interviewer filed it and made a note. It was from before his greencard. Others interviewers say "that's fine" if it's only a speeding ticket. Just offering a heads up to save paperwork.

Thanks for your answer, I really appreciate it, my lawyer just called me saying that she feels really bad because she ''didn't catch the question'' and this was her first i485 interview. she's sending the USCIS a letter. She wants us to order a police clearance letter (from England) to show that my husband haves a clean record back home. I think I feel a little bit better now that shes going to try and sort this out, I really don't want them to think we lied ! I will let you know what happens, thank you and have a great day :star:

  2. So we had our AOS interview today, we hired a lawyer because my husband recently received a ticket for furnishing alcohol to a minor, his court day is not till next month so he hasn't ben convicted or charged with any crimes yet. he was never arrested either . he only got a ticket and a court citation. now at the interview the IO only asked a few questions from form I485 he only asked him if has ever been involved in terrorist activities, if he has ever been arrested or convicted of a crime. my husband said no. we were waiting for the IO to ask if he has ever been cited etc. but he never did. he approved our aos really quick.... should we be concerned ? we dont want them to think we are lying. Even my lawyer said she never heard he question. what are your thoughts on this :( ?

  3. I would say not to worry! we sent our paperwork and got an RFE, we send it back and got an answer a week after that and right away our interview too! Today we had our interview and got approved, the whole process was less than a year! I thought it would be about 2 years, I guess not :P:thumbs: I was super nervous too! we didn't have any bills or joint accounts but our pictures helped a lot :) good luck !
  4. Hi everyone! so the day is almost here and you can tell I'm extremely nervous... My husband (UK) haves his interview next week and I'm super nervous, I'm more nervous than him the reason is the fact that we don't have any joint assets together and I'm currently unemployed (Im working on getting my business license sorted out ( I make custom cakes )

:( We tried to open a bank account together but we failed because I'm under chexsystems and I have to wait another 6 months! :( these are the only things we have:

.his plane ticket when he visit me the first time

.my plane tickets when I visited him and stayed in England for 3 months and our return tickets (he actually had a return ticket because we weren't planning on marrying each other just yet, it just happened in Reno, I don't have decent pictures of our ceremony we want to plan something nice when we both have money)

.phone bills from rebtel when I called him

    .PLENTY OF PICTURES

.mail from his mother and friends

.Letter from my niece stating our relationship is real, stating how she know we met online 2006 and we talked online since then

.Letter from my mom stating we are staying with her because we're both unemployed and shes helping us out

.Letter from my sister to support our relationship

.greyhound tickets when we went to San Diego and then TJ to visit Mexico and meet the rest of the family

another thing that is driving me mad is the fact that he got a *furnishing alcohol to a minor * ticket... his court date is a month after the interview. so he hasn't been convicted yet.... it was a cop set up :( they guy that asked him to buy the beer was an undercover cop

Do you guys think hes going to be deported on the spot and I won't be able to see him again :( ??? he entered under VWP...

any help, comments, suggestions will be appreciated

  5. Hello everyone, So after all the struggle we went through the paperwork and RFE's we finally received the interview for my husband! is next month and I'm a total nervous wreck, I'm unemployed and we both stay with my mom. I don't have any mortgage, any joint accounts or anything with my hubby! only pictures of us together, my passport stamp when I traveled to England to visit his family and some mail his mom sends us. ALso to make things worse he got a misdemeanor 2 weeks ago, the cops set him up got a ''furnishing alcohol to a minor''... they were undercover cops and my husband is always nice, he never says no.. ugh...

What other things can I bring to the interview? any suggestions? do you guys think that hes going to be denied because of the misdemeanor?

    Thanks in advance. <3

  6. Hello Everyone, first of all thank you for reading my post. I feel frustrated and I need help! I met my husband online he came to visit me and then I went to England to visit his family then we came back to the US together (different flights)

We got married almost 2 months after he arrived, and we sent the AOS package late (2 days late + it was thanksgiving holiday) However they returned the package to us because we made a minor mistake on the check, and we're supposed to re-send, we already have a case status and everything but we're about to send the package back next week because we don't have all the money yet. My question is is he going to be denied because he was already out of status? my co-sponsor meets all the requirements but she's currently loosing her house and she haves a very bad credit history!

Please help me, I feel very anxious and I'm about to have a nervous breakdown :(
