We have been approved yesterday morning in Seoul embassy.
There was no problem at all with the interview and they didn't even ask to see
any evidence of our relationship although we brought plenty of it.
The interview took about 5 minutes total.
Visa Journey and folks here were a great help.
I would of faced a lot of more confusion and delays without VJ for sure.
I know our journey is not over yet but I am very relieved we made this far
and knowing that she'll be coming back to U.S. with me.
I wish luck to other folks going through the same journey.
I know how emotional this process can get.
I'm going to enjoy my 2 week vacation here in South Korea with my lovely
fiancee : )
I am very very happy right now : )

I buy from cheapoair.com.
It has the cheapest ticket prices from what I saw compared to
expedia.com, priceline.com etc.
Just be warned that it does not have the best customer service.
Also check for text in red that says "Please note, you have an airport change".
That means if you have connecting flight, it is in difference airport.

Congrats u guys are almost there .since you guys have gone throught the process already , I would like to know if the checklist that will be sent to my fiancé will be through e-mail or regular mail because his mailing address has been change and I have been trying to contact the embassy in Seoul through phone to let them know of the change in address but to no avail,so what can I do?

It'll be sent to your email if you filled one in on your I129F form.
They sent it to my email since I filled mine in.
I'm guessing if you didn't fill one in, it would be sent to your Korean fiance's home address.
In that case, you'll need to call the Seoul Embassy right away if your case was sent to the embassy already.
Assuming you filled your email in and gets an email regarding packet 3,
you'll need to go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/kr
Create an account, and schedule an interview.
You'll also need to print out an interview confirmation letter with a barcode
and your fiance's address which you need to bring to the interview.
Your finace's address on the letter can be changed on http://www.ustraveldocs.com/kr
so the confirmation letter can have the updated address.
I believe they use this confirmation letter's address to send you the visa via the postal mail.

We just received our packet 3 through email from the Seoul Embassy
I was reading through the instructions and it looks like
we have to bring the DS-230 part 1 to the interview?
Based on what I have been reading about k1 visa packet 3, I thought
DS-230 part 1 is something you send in right away while the rest can wait until the interview
The packet 3 instructions says bring all the documents to the interview
(DS-230 part 1, DS-156, DS-156K, medical exam and chest x-ray, ect)
Is this consulate specific?

I found another package going to Manila;
Waybill: 9449018972
Departed Facility in CINCINNATI HUB - USA Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 05:05
I have been checking with NVC for about a month now and they do not have my package yet. This should be good news for someone though.
Anyone else have an NOA2 from around June 12 that has not been recieved at NVC yet?
I got my NOA2 on June 4th and it made to NVC on June 29th.
It took 25 days and I was from VSC. At the time when I called on
July 2nd or 3rd, they told me CSC was delayed even more than VSC.
I see CSC taking about a month lately from NOA2 to NVC.
I wish you luck.

OH MY F@$&ING GOD!!!
GUYS!!! I figured out the grand secret of the DHL universe!!!
So I was putting waybill number randomly to find any packages from the NVC picked up after july 4th holiday. I found some standard normal US DIPLOMATIC PAPERS package and then I looked at the shipper's reference.
The NVC shipper's reference starting from EXP 03 JUL 2012A has NO SPACE between month and year!!!
For example, instead of EXP 03 JUL 2012A you put EXP 03 JUL2012A and then EXP 05 JUL2012A and EXP 06 JUL2012A etc
I just found my package from NVC picked up July 6th and arrived in Stockholm on july 9th
And all this time I thought the DHL went on strike, or there was a major gas leak in the NVC mailroom lol.
Happy tracking everyone!
Wow great find!
I was thinking the same thing, thinking DHL people were slacking.
Looks like that is not the case!
Thanks a lot for you find!
It gave me peace of mind.

You spoke exactly what I was thinking. I mean I should stop being surprised now. Every time my case reaches the next step, thing completely goes out of normal.
Me three.
Feels like I'm running into delays at every stage...

I contacted the Seoul embassy today and got an email respond within an hour.
"The Immigrant Visa unit has not yet received your case file from the National Visa Center.
The relevant office expects to receive it within the next several days."
NVC told me they forwarded it to the Seoul embassy on July 3rd so I suspect it is
the delay with the DHL? Since I don't see anything being sent out
since July 2nd on DHL tracking they really haven't been picked up by DHL.

My fiancee and I were going through the Packet 3 checklist since we could receive it any time now
and we noticed the requirement for previous passports for K1 visas.
My Korean fiancee told me she threw away the previous expired passports and only has the current one.
The current one does have stamps for her 2 trips to USA and those are the only trips she made to the USA.
Is this passport good enough or do we need the copies of the previous passport.
If it is required where can we get a copy? Since she threw them away already.
Thanks!
Jake

The last date I can track on the DHL website is july 2nd
If anyone can track july 5th and july 6th, please let us know
Same here,
According to NVC, my case was forwarded to the Seoul embassy (Republic of Korea)
on July 3rd but I cannot track anything beyond July 2nd.

I hear ya.
It took me 42 days to get the NOA2 after an RFE (forgot to check yes/no on criminal background).
I did a service request on day 35 and it may of taken longer than 42 days if I didn't.
It then took them another 25 days to send it to NVC (had to call USCIS and talked with a tier 2
to get an "expedite"). Got NOA2 on 6/4/12 NVC received on 6/29/12.
I'm hoping it is at least sent to the consulate now. I don't want to do the request/calling game with
NVC as well.

Now that i read again... It also sounds like the case with the OP that the Judge was allowed to over-ride the 6 month waiting period. This may be legal and law in cali. Either wait 6 months or get Judge to stamp and sign early. Now that i read the OP statement again, this was likely the case, as law may be written to wait 6 months OR Judge approval. Looks legit based on law and documents provided. Just not very clear as to what the OP has, asked for, and is doing with limited statement.
I noticed that too.
Looks like the OP might be ok.
Looks like a question for a divorce lawyer really.

We have the same NOA2 approval notice (6-04-12) please let me know when the NVC gets your packet and if i find out first i will let you know!
After 25 days NVC finally got it. Got my case# now.
It seems that calling/emailing USCIS/NVC does get some action done.
It was the same way with my RFE. Waited over a month, did a service request
to VSC, a week later got my NOA2.
Called USCIS and NVC yesterday, talked with tier 2 on the phone at USCIS.
She did an "expedite" for me, got my case# today.
This may be coincidence since I waited long in both cases but it sure
seems like calling them does make a difference.

Day 24 and NVC still hasn't received my petition (I'm vsc BTW)...
I called USCIS today and I think they transferred me to a higher up (from the first rep) because she
did an "expedite" for me. She said if VSC hasn't sent the petition to NVC yet, they send it right away.
I also called NVC prior to USCIS and they said oh CSC is delayed but VSC shouldn't be.
This is ridiculous to say the least...

You are on Day 17, I believe. It's business days, so 5 days per week. I'm on Day 15 today with a date of 06/06/12 on my NOA2.
Well my point was VSC petitions are not getting their NVC case#s well before 15 business days.
-
I don't buy that NVC is having backlog. If NVC where the ones at fault here. Then VSC would also being held up. But they aren't. People are receiving their NVC case numbers with NOA2 well under the 15th business day mark. This is completely a CSC failure.
I'm on day 23 from VSC and I still do not have case number of NVC.

Our NOA2 is 30th May and still waiting. We sent an email to nvcresearch twice already and let me show you what kind of result you can expect from their "actively seeking our petition"
This is the response we got from nvcresearch.
Needless to say, the sheer level of incompetence and inefficiency at these government agencies are breathtaking.
Perhaps we need to contact USCIS?
I'm starting get appalled by these government processes.
This is 2012, we should not have to contact them multiple times
and it should not take over a month for some files to go from point A to point B...
Especially if you already waited for months and months for the approval.
If my company had these type of processes they would of been out of business a long time ago.
-
I called NVC again yesterday and they told me to email them a scanned copy of my NOA2.
They gave me this option once the "15 business days" has passed.
The rep also told me they should of definitely received it by now and they'll now be
actively seeking my petition since the 15 business days has passed.
-
Just to give you all a little hope. Yesterday I would have been in the same boat as you, approval on May 30 and everyday they told me that they had not recieved it. Last week I sent an email with a scanned copy of my approval to NVCresearch@state.gov. Today's call went a little better, they have it but then they told me it will take then 10-15 business days to get it into the system. Its so frustrating that it's taking so long. Hope your good news comes soon! Best we can be is patient.
I did the same yesterday. Sent in scanned copy of my NOA2 to NVCresearch@state.gov.
They gave me this option once it got past 15 business days (approved on 6/4/12).
-
Just got off the phone with NVC, still don't have my petition from CSC, 47 days and counting - will be 7 weeks on Wednesday.
Forgive me, but 3 weeks is nothing!
Doesn't your NOA2 expire after 4 months?
It is written on my NOA2 that it is valid for 4 months.
Doesn't this mean the interview has to take place within that 4 months?
-
Thanks guys...
Dunno if I should feel better or worse...
Seems like it is worse...
-
It has been 3 weeks since I received my NOA2 (6/4/12) from VSC and NVC still has not received my petition.
Is this normal? Should I try to contact VSC regarding this?
NVC rep told me they don't have it on file (data?) which I believe means they haven't received it from VSC yet.
This K1 process has been delay after delay...
-
We are still waiting for our NVC case# after our NOA2 and I plan on calling them again today (monday).
Last monday when I called, they have not yet received our petition from Vermont Service Center.
I was wondering what is the earliest that my fiancee get her police clearance and medical done.
I believe I read here before that you can get your medical done as soon as you receive you NVC case#.
Is this true? If so can she also get her police clearance right after receiving our case#?
I am trying to avoid much delays as possible.
Thanks!

Same thing happened to us the other day.
My wife applied for her SSN after receiving her EAD.
They told us they could not verify her status and it may take up to 4 weeks.
I been searching online and I guess this happens often with most people
receiving their SS card in about 2 weeks. Hopefully that'll be the case for us.
