  1. Hello Everyone,

I am sure this is a tired topic but I am new here :)

My Fiance and I just filed our Fiancee visa application on March 14, 2013.

I have gone to visit on April 12 and will be returning to visit on May 10th for ten days.

The first visit I have absolutely no questions from the officer.. He asked me where I was going and stamped my ticket admitted.

I thought it was quite strange that no questions were asked but now that I am going again would I have the same sort of experience? Due to being allowed in previously should I have no issues this trip?

I still don't understand how grey this topic is and it is quite stressful not knowing what is going to happen.

Thank You for your replies :)!

We filed in March 2012 and I went up to Canada 3 more times, 1 of which was for our interview and brought him back with me to the states. I never had any issues and I flew 2 times and drove the 3rd. Flying I had a return ticket each time and I was up there for about 10 days each. Driving I gave a rough estimate of when I'd be returning but still no issue.

Also, and everyones situation is different, I didn't have to provide any strong ties to the US. Just made sure I told them the truth to their questions. Who are you visiting? For how long? Where will you be staying? When will you be returning? What do you do/work? Blah Blah Blah. Same questions every time... and I've been up there 6 times. This next time we'll be driving together.

    Good luck !

  2. This is normal. Some even wait close to a year. You probably won't have an interview but you will wait a long time. But no need to be stressed or frustrated, the GC won't bring you much more than the EAD and AP already allow you to do.

Edit: Just noticed you didn't apply for AP. You can still do it for free if you want.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't realize or hadn't thought about applying for AP even now... I'll talk with my husband and see if that's something he'll be interested in going forward with. Traveling isn't a huge deal but should we choose to this summer, it would be nice to be able to.

  3. So, I'm more or less venting my frustration around how long it is taking for our AOS to move forward from Initial Process. We filled and was recieved beginning of Novemember, even in looking at the USCIS.gov website at their processing times (which hasn't been updated since Dec.) its showing that they're working on August's submissions.

Is anyone else experiencing this, and is this normal processing time?

  4. We filled Oct. 30th 2012, and for some reason out NOA's were returned to the USCIS being undeliverable. Funny thing is, is that we haven't moved so a changed of address didn't happen. That's been about the only weird thing that has happened on our end. The Biometrics appointment is Thursday Dec. 20th. Hoping we'll get our EAD within a couple of weeks. We didn't file for the AP due to the lack of avilable PTO on my end, just was extra paperwork.

    Good luck.

  5. I just have 2 weeks of leave to the place thus why.

In this case what if she comes in here as a fiancee?

They will deny your petition for a fiancee visa because you aren't free to marry.

You and your fiancé(e) must be free to marry. This means that both of you are unmarried, or that any previous marriages have ended through divorce, annulment or death. (straight from the k-1 visa guide)

  6. We are getting ready for our interview on the 19th in Montreal...I wanted to make sure that I have all the documents that I need.

    This is what I have:

    1. I-134 Filled Out with: This years paystubs. Letter from my employer. My offer letter from employment when I started.
    2. Copy of my fiance's biopage of his passport.
    3. Original and Copy of his AND my birth certificate (just in case they ask for mine)
    4. Appointment letter and loomis confirmation as well as prood of $240 fee payment.
    5. Letter of Intent from Me signed within 30 days of interview
    6. Police Certificates original and copies
    7. 13 pictures of us with location, names and dates on the back.
    8. Copy of our entire Package 3 sent to the embassy.
    9. Copys of receipts/text conversations/other things for proof of relationship.

Anything else you can think of that I need? I just want to make sure I got my ducks in a row.

Thanks to everyone for their help! I am so thankful we are almost done with this K1 part.

All of the information you have here looks good, when we went they didn't even want my tax transcripts ( USC ). They didn't want pictures or other proofs you have listed either. We had them all but they didn't want to see any of it. Our interview was short and sweet.

    Good luck

  7. Hello again! You guys were so much help before and i got everything ready to go but came to a snag so i'm all ready to file and get this going i just have a few last minute questions about what i need to do :)

First off- When we send the "proof" of relationship ie. my phone records, can i black out all the numbers that aren't his? My parents, friends, and colleagues really don't need to have their numbers mailed out in my opinion.

Secondly- do we send photocopies of the pictures first and bring originals, or should i go to walmart and make copies of all my photos? They were taken on a phone and printed off the computer though i'm sure many people do this, i'm just curious about the correct procedure.

third- I've read through the step by step guide a thousand times and steps 12-14 do not apply to our situation, should i state somewhere, maybe in the cover letter, that neither of us have been married/ divorced/ convicted of any crimes? or will they figure that out through the other forms (biographic information and such?)

I think that is everything, thank you guys in advance, you're all amazing, can't wait to get this all under way!! Take care!

    Stephanie & George

I had sent my phone records and blacked out all that didn't apply. I had also sent our skype records and MSN records and blacked out what we had copied and pasted for eachother to view.

For pictures we went and got additional copies of the photo from our phones or SD card. Don't for get to write on the back the date, who was in the photo, and where the photo was taken.

No need to specify as to if you've been married/divorced/or convicted. The G-325 (i think that is the form) that you both fill out will ask you the questions and if you answered yes to any of them thats when you would need to provide the information needed.

    BTW good luck !!!!

  8. You'll want to put how much you'll make for this year. hourly rate x hours worked a week x 52 weeks a year. and that will give the rough estimate doesn't include overtime if any worked. I had also included a letter from my employer but they didn't seem to want mine :P and gave it back to us when we went to the first window at the consulate.

    Good luck

  9. I'm copying this from the K-1 forum to also receive feedback on other Canadians experiences.

Our POE was Sept. 19th 2012 and we got married on Oct. 13th 2012. I am wanting to start the paperwork for AOS and am reading over some of the information regarding what is needed in order to submit it. By the looks of it, it is the same stuff we had submitted with our K-1 example the vaccination history, original BC etc. etc. So my question is do we get out packet back?? And if we do when do we get it?? I'd hate to have to pay for more copies of this stuff when it was already sumbitted.

Did any of you receive you packet back after POE or did you have to get all the paperwork required for AOS all over again???

    Thank you so much. :)

  11. Our interview was the 17th, I (USC) had drove up to accompany my fiance to his interview and was going to drive back Wed. or Thursday. Reality really hit when we started getting updates as to where hit passport was Wednesday night. He decided to come with me Tursday on the drive back home. Tears were shed and the process really flew by.
