did you guys close your bank accounts and credit cards here in canada when you left?sorry for all the questions...im on panic mode..counting days before the move out...pheeew!

thanks to all...i've spoken with CRA and they told me to send them a letter that im moving to the states and that i may have to file a final tax return (im a permanent resident not a canadian citizen) now i more confuse...to be a non resident means severing ties like canadian bank accounts, drivers license, ohip.... tax issues are driving me nuts.. im not planning to give up my residency yet..please shed some light to those who went through all of these...

hi everyone, i have my k1 visa approved,issued on feb 13,2013 and will expire on july 21,2013. but i dont have plans of moving til last week of june to settle some more things here.. question is, will it be okay? and im kinda confuse with the visa that states:

PET FILED: 29Feb2012/REVALID TO 03JUN2013.......

will it have an impact on my plan of POE-ing on the last week of June?thanking all in advance.

one more thing, anybody who brought their dogs with them? what documents will i be needing?

I went to Medisys in Montreal and I got a CD as well. Yes, it's the X-ray. And yes, bring it to the interview. They probably won't take it, just the sealed envelope with your results, but still have it on hand in case they request it.

hi everyone...who had their medical at Dr. Seiden's Toronto? I received the results of my medical today thru courier and found a cd with it..im assuming its a copy of my xray result? anybody with the same experience?should i bring this to the interview as well?thanks in advance

I submitted tax returns (1040s) with W2s (plus photocopies of W2s as they will want copies) and had no issues. Tax transcripts are also acceptable. It's up to you. Tax transcripts might be easier if the USC is self-employed.

Why should we have medical close to the interview date? Or can i have my medical even if my interview will be on february 2013?

im confused with the requirements for K1 visa interview...

the packet 4 in the website stated 6months, on the other hand the packet 4 mailed to me listed 6months for police clearance?which is correct , (k1 visa montreal interview)

I'm going with Dr. Mascarenhas in Toronto - when I spoke to the receptionist, it sounded like they had lots of bookings available. I booked mine for November 12 (with a December 6 interview), just to make sure I had enough time to get everything back, and not have to stress about it right before the interview.

i dont have a vaccination record back in my country..I migrated here in Canada and still doen't have any vaccination record. Can i go to my family doctor to get the shots needed prior to coming for a medical k1 visa appointment?( will it save me money?)anybody who went through the same process?or should i just get those shots during my medica k1 visa appointment?

i was wondering if anyone can share thoughts on the best time to have my medical appointment..how long will it take to schedule a medical appointment here in Toronto?thanking everyone in advance =)

We received notification that our packet 3 was mailed from the Montreal embassy. My fiance is currently visiting me in the U.S., so we are not able to get the actual form from the mail. We have completed all of the requirements in the packet 3 and would like to send back to the embassy while she is in the U.S. If mailing from here is this the correct mailing address to send the packet 3 for the Montreal Embassy?

Fair enough, it will be 2 weeks more to receive the new passport, im so unpatient to wait for it hahaha..i want to send my packet 3 now asap hahaha..thanks everyone.

It might. I would wait until you have the new passport in your hands to make to fill out the forms on Packet 3...BUT to have the most accurate information, get a hold of the embassy and present the situation to them.

you have to have at least 6 months before expiration to be able to use that pasport . It is to close and am afraid you gonna have to renew. If i were you i will renew to be on the safe side

thanks for the reply, i already renewed it and the new passport will be release in a month...but, im already filling up the forms for packet 3 so i can send them right away....can i then used the old passport number? (valid passport but expiring soon)and bring the new passport in the interview?will it cause a conflict?

They will send you notification once they enter your case in the system. You could call department of state and find out ans see if your case has been assigned a case number. 2026631225 thats their number.
