  1. I just got home from work and was hoping for a letter for an interview in London, so was over the moon when it was there. I opened it up and the appointment is for this Tuesday 31 July 9 am. I can't believe they only gave me a couple of days notice as most people I think get around 3 weeks! I have seen some people on here and their interview is in August and they had their letter ages ago.

I don't even know if I can the time off work! then I have to book train, hotel etc I am in a state of panic!

Don't panic, those are great news. Think it through, and if you definetively can not make it, call the embassy and reschedule, there is no problem. Congratulations on your interview!

  2. My wife doesn't have her shots up to date. Which means she will probably have to get them all at the medical exam.

So, me being a bit curiouse, what exactly will they give her? and how much money should I expect to spend aside from the $165 medical exam fee?

They do say that some shots are not available. Should I be worried about that? will they require her to get those shots and where if they are not available at those medical centers? Has anyone experienced this?

Hello, I had to recieve only one shot here in Guatemala City (it was Tetanus) and they charged me $15 for that one. I'm sure they will have all the vaccines she needs, available at the doctor's office. Good luck.

  3. Hi all!

Our case is on the stage when I've started preparing documents for IV package. I should send some important documents like Birth certificate and Marriage certificate to my husband in the US.

Is it necessary to send the Original certificates? can I make a copy? what is the best solution in this situation?

Do I need translations of these documents?

    thanks a lot!

You can send a copy, but you need to include a translation. If you send copies, don't forget to bring the originals to the interview.

  4. When submitting the I-130 petition are we required to also submit evidence of our dating history...how we met, when we first met in person, skype and online chat histories? I ask because, we plan on submitting the petition right after we get married and as such won't have much evidence of a bona-fide marriage apart from the marriage certificate and wedding photos.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

I also applied after we just got married. We submitted sworn affidavits from his parents and our friends as support of our relationship, wedding photos and photos of our travels together, phone call records, copies of birthday and valentine's day cards that had been postmarked prior to our wedding. We got approved in 5.5 months without RFE. In summary, the more evidence the better. Best wishes.

  5. Thank you Darnel!!!

Hi Analet, go to http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4354.html to pay your AOS fee. All you need is your Case number and Invoice number. You can find the instructions there. After you pay the AOS, wait a couple of days for the status to change to PAID. Then, you can go back there and generate your cover sheet that has the barcode. Then, you send this cover sheet with the rest of your I-864 package to the NVC.
