Hello again. To those whose status actually came up in the dept. of state website, how soon after it changes to final processing do they mail the passport? Thanks.

Hooray! Received our CoNs back today!!! Not bad, received all - passport, passport card and certificates in one week!

I applied for my passport today. Expedited. They said I'll have it by Friday @ 12:00 pm. They are very nice.

Good for you, Concord! That's because the main office is in NH. We got our passport cards today.

Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing until you get your oath letter. The good thing with my interview, it was 3 weeks before my 5-yr anniversary, the IO asked me if we had any plans of traveling outside the US, and we did. I gave her the dates and she said it's easier for everyone if they schedule our oath date when we are home. It wasn't an issue since I know the next one is a few days after we got back from our vacation. The letter arrived before we left for our 7-night cruise so it worked perfectly!

Hooray! Hubby's and my passport arrived today. Just waiting for our child's.... And the CoNs....

I have personally never heard of anybody losing their CoN when applying for a passport.

The woman at my local post office, where I applied, told me that out of her over 20 years of experience with this process she had never heard of a CoN getting lost in the mail.

Will expedited process assure a quicker return of the CoN as well?

Woohoo!!! Finally, received the oath letter today. It was driving me nuts we're on queue for almost two weeks and the letter just popped in the mail today. I was so excited, I couldn't get to open the envelope!!!

What a journey! We received the biometrics letter Christmas eve, scheduled a few days after New Year's, received the interview letter a few days before my birthday, had the interview 2 days after Valentine's Day and received the oath letter 2 days before hubby's bday! And the oath is scheduled a few days after Easter.... sure great for remembering in the future!!! 2 more weeks... it's great to see the finish line, finally!

Still waiting for my oath letter here and it's driving me crazy.

Same here... We're on queue for almost 2 weeks....

My face is recognizable, it's just too orange. The more I look at it the more it makes me rethink that perhaps I took the photo last Halloween dressed up as an umpa lumpa! Haha. But seriously, with all the guidelines they make us follow on photo requirements I had expected them to deliver something decent at least. And yep, I'm with you on the CoN, they were using good grade DSLRs but the end result quality is just atrocious!

The photo they use on the CoN is the one they took during Biometrics??? Oh my, my, my.....

I guess the toughest wait is the last leg. When they say they will schedule you for an oath ceremony 45 days after receiving the recommended approval, is that 45 business days or 45 normal days?

Only one photo is required, correct? The one attached to the application form? Thanks!

Congratulations!! Good thing you didn't leave too far away. It would be a nightmare if that happened to us since the district court is an hour and a half away!

I'm not going to apply for passport there, why would they take your certificate away. Thank you for mentioning this.

All passport applications will require you to submit your naturalization certificate. It will be returned to you via mail.

Interview date scheduled for... May 3! It's a little late, relative speaking, but I'll take it!I hope the Oath ceremony follows shortly thereafter. Can you travel out of the country as an approved citizen, but minus the oath? I guess I should search the boards!

You can and you just have to mention it during the oath ceremony the dates you were out.

Just want to bump this thread for clarification. I didn't realize the photo submitted on the application will end up on the certificate and I signed my usual squiggly signature, which is my official one, never really sign my full name. Now it says the sig on the cert should match the one in the photo and the cert says that the name should be signed as written on the cert. Would it matter if I put two sigs - full name/squiggly regular sig? Thanks.

EXPEDITED SERVICE

As of ( Tuesday March 20, 2012 ), we are processing requests for expedited service in about 2-3 weeks door-to-door, when overnight delivery is requested and paid for both ways (to and from the passport agency).

However, I read that some people that applied for Expedite received the passport within 2 to 5 days.
