  1. It's not about religion, it's about your geopolitical situation and current US security interests. If these were still Cold War times (I will not insert a joke about Romney, I will not!), then this process would be much more difficult for Russians, etc.

Or may be it's about neither , not religion nor geopolitical circumstances.

What if it's purely psychological factor? What if I am going nuts because I am a pious Muslim?

    What do you think?

  2. I have known many Muslims, and been good friends with a couple...and yet none of the Muslims I have encountered behave as you do. The issues of your Muslim faith, your piety, your attendance at Mosc, or the idea that you plan to do your prayers in the middle of your interview even...are not appropriate for this area of the forums as they do revolve around a religion....

And before you get into more of the "woe is me" and "persecution" garbage, I would say the same to anyone of any faith that made a thread that revolved entirely around that faith...

I am in no need of your prayers for my soul, thanks anyway. Allah has already secured my salvation.

Thanks in advance for moving this to the religion section, mods.

    Sigh

  3. ..You are going off the deep end and claiming, BECAUSE you are pious and a practicing Muslim, AOS and the process is against you.

I am sorry , dear inluwnwaiting,

May be I misspoke or didn't make myself clear.

English is not my native language so forgive me if I do not write things clearly for you to understand.

But let me assure you that no where did I try to imply that process is against me because I am pious, practicing Muslim.

As you notice, my post is about nightmare (something that appeared to me in dream state, not something that actually

took place in reality ) and it demonstrates the extent of anxiety I go through as a Muslim in AOS.

The post, above all, is about my personal state of and condition of coping with AOS process as a Muslim and it is written

in the hopes of other Muslims joining this thread and sharing their similar or different experiences , so together we can

help each other to deal with this utterly personal ordeal we all go through due to psychological problems of our own that may

have little to nothing to do with any external factors.

Please read my posts attentively and I pray Allah to give you more understanding, compassion and mercy on your fellow

Muslim who is going through such a trying period of applying for AOS while being a Muslim.

May Allah be merciful on you!

    Alhamdullilah!

  4. I respectfully disagree. This thread is not about religion or policitcs, it's about my individual experience as an AOS applicant who happens to be a Muslim.

Dear Valeria, are Muslims precluded or forbidden to post their AOS experience, as opposed to everyone else?

I kindly ask Allah to have mercy and compassion on mods and let this thread to stay here!

  5. Seriously?

Mods, does this belong in this area of the forums?

If you read through this guys posts you will see he is all over the place....

Don't feed the trolls, as one forum member advised.

May Allah forgive your sins too, jdh!

I pray to Allah to cleanse your soul of those negative and unfounded assumptions, as

my intent in posting this thread is sincere and truthful, not influenced by jinns or trolls (is it

    Christians word for jinns?)

May Allahs' mercy and wisdom shine on you, jdh!

    Alhamdullilah!

  6. I wish you good help in finding your solutions but it does not read as a Immigration, Religious, or Freedom of Speech Issue.

Why do you need to keep repeating Muslim experience, being a Muslim we are used to being treated bad, And you are suffering on the account of being pious??? Practicing? You seem to be having OTHER issues, please stop bringing Islam into this.

The way you will be interviewed is based on your relationship with SO. Not that you go to Mosque.

Clearly, you have little empathy for your fellow Muslim going through this kind of ordeal.

Or, perhaps, you are not a Muslim and don't know what it means to have an experience as a

Muslim going through AOS. If latter is the case, please reserve your assumptions and comments

for yourself and let other Muslims going through the same share theirs'.

I pray to Allah to bless your heart with more kindness, mercy and compassion ,

so that you would be free of jinns who negatively influence your comments about

pious and well meaning Muslim applicant.

I pray to Allah to forgive your sins!

    Alhamdullilah!

  7. Possibly, but we won't be able to change existing geopolitical situation.

You are right, but that's not what my post is about.

It's about ME suffering these nightmares on the account of being a pious, practicing, mosque going Muslim

    in AOS.

I am posting to share my Muslim experience and I want other Muslim applicants to share theirs, so we can mutually

help one another to go through this ordeal.

  8. Dear Forum members, I had a nightmare tonight.

I was walking towards the interview building and endless number of people were lined up towards the entrance. They stood in two lanes, separated by a narrow threadline I could walk on. They were all staring at me.

And they all were asking the same question: "Are you a Muslim?"

The closer I walked to the building the louder questions would get heard.

Started as a whisper, they would be almost screamed at me just before I entered the building:

    Are you a Muslim?

    ARE YOU A MUSLIM ?

Finally the door opened , I walked through and immediately found myself in the lighted, white-walled room. The room was empty..

    Only 4 walls surrounding me....

I was left alone in this room and the door behind me would close in a way that would reveal no gaps...

I was essentially in a cube, with no sign of interview or IO in sight!

Like commissar Juve in the french movie Fantomas, who was put in asylum surrounded by plush walls he would kick for no avail,

I found myself procrastinating and waiting for something to happen, but alas, nothing would happen!

    It lasted like an eternity...

And as I was ready to die of heart attack the Allah suddenly appeared before me and spoke to me in a soft

voice , holding a silver tray on his right hand. On a tray I saw my Green Card!!!

This was unbelievable, I was ready to jump of joy like a child and as I extended my arm to pick up my card it disappeared, a loud laughter could be heard ,

the Allah would remove his mask and there I saw Fantomas !!!!

Needless to say, I woke up , all sweaty and panting as if was drowning before.

Being a Muslim and going through AOS is no joke, I tell ya!

  9. EIC are the best thing in the world.

Essentially, you do not need to look for job.

Just manufacture few children and stay home.

At the end of the year get a fat paycheck.

A lot better than working your rear end off at McDonalds

(or similar jobs that Muslim can only hope to qualify for).

    :)

On a serious note: just take your copy of your returns.

If you can get IRS printout even better.

    Good luck.

  10. Look this is my concern my above post. I do not care what the other poster is writing about. I know it's not concerning religion. I know it's a just a draw. If you have you things in order, then hope for the best. I am the original poster. This is what I am concerned about. He/she rob my thread. I am fully aware of my rights as a citizen. I am just wanting to know the experiences of those who went from a F-1 VISA through the AOS process. That is all i am seeking at this moment.

    Thank you!!!!

    ~Saudiwife

I am sorry if I made you feel that way. But please be assured that it was not my intention to steal your thread.

I thought you are a practicing, sincere and pious Muslim who naturally has the same anxieties as I do. My apologies, it seems I was mistaken. From now on I will speak for myself only , as well as about my profoundly Muslim experiences.

And I will pray to Allah to approve your visa!

    Have a peaceful evening!

  11. We don't say being Muslim makes a difference.

What we say is we are very nervous because we are practicing Muslims.

    Those are two different things.

Being nervous about being a Muslim is not the same thing as being Muslim making a difference.

But in the end it very well may make a difference.

What if we, on the account of being Muslims, faint from our nervousness during an interview while answering to some relevant, crucial and important question?

What if IO asks: "What is your name?" and in response we say "My name is..." and start to convulse and shake uncontrollably and fall into coma? What will IO think?

IO will think we are hiding something, will get suspicious and so on.

This is just one possible scenario. There are infinite other possibilities.

So, while being Muslim by itself may not make any difference, being overly nervous on the account of being Muslim may very well have adverse consequences.

And just being a Muslim makes me extremely nervous.

When I walk on the street and see policeman I almost faint.

What will I do when in front of IO? How will I maintain my composure?

Oh, that dreary existence while being a Muslim.

Driving while intoxicated is nothing compared to existing while being a Muslim.

    I will go cry now.

  12. You falsely claimed to be a US Citizen and received a benefit by doing so.

And you would not receive that benefit with your existing status.

If you were an LPR and claimed to be a US Citizen, you could argue that you were entitled to

receive the benefit anyway (someone actually won on 9th Cir. Court of Appeals because of being LPR

and by default entitled to benefit received).

If you claimed to be a US Citizen but received no benefit out of it you could still be OK (like , if you screamed "I swear am US Citizen!" and jumped up and down on the street at very worst someone would call an ambulance to calm you down).

But you falsely claimed the US Citizenship and you received a benefit which you were not entitled to without it - this is a big mistake and there is ,as others mentioned, a lifetime ban for it.

In any event, you have got extensive replies and responses to your question and there is nothing else anyone here can tell you beyond what was already said to you.

Please note: None of the above is a legal advise. For legal consultation see a practicing immigration attorney.

  13. Well, there are some couples whom I know are muslims and there spouses received the greencard and citizenship. One associate i know who is muslim and, her husband who is muslim from North Africa, and he was illegal for over 6 years and alhamdulillah, their AOS seemed to have gone well. He's up for citizenship now alhamdulillah. insha'allah things will go well.

I am just looking for users of VJ who have had an AOS via F-1 Visa.

I'm sure they will know we are muslim since I observe the full hijab and my husband's name is soooooooooooooooo MUSLIM. no way around that.

    Wishing you all the best.

    feeimanallah.

    ~Saudiwife

I know someone who is Christian from Arabic country and also has a very Muslim Name.

Would he also presumed to be a Muslim by default, because of his Muslim name?

But my case and your case is more complicated , because we are actually Muslims, not just in name

but also in practice ( I eat only halal meat, my daughters already wear hijab and go to local madrasa which is a private school by the local mosque here and I will do my prayer even during the USCIS interview.

All this makes me very nervous.

  14. Millions of people work in USA without Work Authorization.

Not that I condone it, but come on , people , be realistic, and don't grill him for merely working here

while his USC father and his whole family lived here.

It is no doubt a deportable offense, but not one that would cause a lifetime ban to anyone.

However, the issue of getting a job by claiming Citizenship is egregious one and to my knowledge

no venue exists to overcome a lifetime ban where one received a benefit by virtue of falsely claiming Citizenship

and if the said benefit wouldn't be received in the absence of such a claim.

  15. The moderator of this site clearly has a bias and won't allow me post a reply (to be sure, they simply delete it) if an opinion that doesn't serve their agenda is posted here.

A privately owned website has a right to choose a moderator who will arbitrarily delete posts that are challenging factual basis of untrue claims you make, but mods doing so will in no way affect the validity of my claim or reverse the void nature of yours.

As noted in a reply (already deleted by your fellow mods) , the electronic evidence is still an evidence and I challenge you to prove this claim wrong.

Either do thAt or your claim is null and void.

  16. I know you thnk you have a good grasp of the English language but you are incorrect in stating my previous post is redundant.

Your post was read entirely, I assure you. Anyone reading your post will gather that you are under the impression that chat logs can be used as valid evidence in an immigration setting.

That impression is wrong. It is also wrong when it comes to a criminal investigation - aside from building a case with circumstantial evidence - they could not be used to convict of a crime.

And really...with the attacks? Really? Again with this from you?

You know I "thnk" ? Your English is flawless, I must tell.

Anywho, let's move to a subject of the discussion.

I said chat logs are evidence and I stand by what I said.

Prove that Electronic Evidence <<<CLICK THE LINK<<< , including the chat logs, are not an evidence.

Either do thAt or your claim that I was wrong is null and void.

As to using it within immigration application context, chat logs are evidence of communication and if cell phone records can be used as evidence of communication then so can be the chat logs.

IO doesn't need to bring to lab your computer, but the prosecutors could if they believed that the evidence

you presented did not exist and decided to bring you to court to prove their case.

  17. The above poster is wrong.

He or she posted only to say that the other poster is wrong, without bothering to read what it is they are claiming to be wrong.

I didn't write "chat logs are used as evidence in an immigration setting", what I wrote is that chat logs are evidence

    .

Prove me wrong, prove that chat logs are NOT an evidence.

What a redundant post, and with no purpose other than to say that the other poster is wrong! , without even trying to figure what the other actually wrote.

What a sad state of human disposition :)
