My fiance had his K-1 Visa interview on July 28 and approved but he received a blue sheet for a DNA test between himself and his son. Because his son's birth certificate had been corrected they requested DNA for paternity. I contacted the Consular's office and they said there was a wait-list just to get an appointment for the DNA swab. This didn't make any sense to me because you are able to make an appointment for everything else, what is so different about only having to do a quick swab with a DNA that has already been paid for? The DNA kit was received by the embassy within 3 days of the request. As of today we still haven't heard anything from the embassy. has anyone else had to deal with this situation, if so, how long did it take for the embassy to call for you to come in and do the test? thanks.

Does anyone (preferrably people dealing with the Jamaican consulate)Know how long the nvc takes to get an appointment date sent out? how has the time frame been for the last 3 months to now? i am really hoping to have atleast a late august, first or second week of september interview for my husband. Does anyone think they would go over into october or would that be way too late for them to assign one seeing that they finished my case last week?

Hello. Just send an email to KingstonIV@state.gov . Include your case number and the name and just simply ask for the appointment date. They will let you know the date and may attach the actual letter. Good luck!

Researching the Embassy associated with my fiance and reading all the K1 responses provided me with enough information to do it on my own and I was very successful. Do a little more research...you may be able to save yourself some money if you have the time!

If you know you have been approved and the embassy has received your packet, see if your finace is able to reach Kingston. They can go to the embassy with the DS-230: Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration and they will make the appointment for you or you can mail the DS-230 to

hey everyone i am really fustrated with this and i need yall advice next week is gonna be 1 month and nvc still have not recieved my petition i keep calling and still nothing i dont know what to do at this point is it possible that my petition can be forwarded straight to my embassy cause i called last night and the rep ask me to read what was on my approval notice but i didnt have it with me please i need some comforting words at this moment i am really lost i feel hopeless and if there is anyone who had their petition at nvc for this long or longer please let me know thanks yall in advance
