  1. Thanks everyone! So far no one I have contacted has been able to give me any help or advice. Thank goodness for Visa Journey! It sounds like the best thing to do would be to go to the deferred inspection agency but the nearest one is 3 hours away so my plan is to send in my AOS normally and I'll include my plane ticket and boarding pass and a letter. The stamp is wrong, of course, but the part that is written in ink "visa expires on March 15, 2013" is correct. If they send it back I'll deal with it then. Unless you guys think that is a very bad idea, that is my plan.

  2. I entered the US on my K1 fiancee visa through US customs at the Calgary airport on December 16, 2012. Today I went to apply for my SSN and discovered they stamped my passport and I-94 with December 16, 2016!!

I called Homeland Security, emailed them, called the US customs at the airport - so far no one has any idea who I should talk to or what I should do.

Does anyone have any advice? Maybe it isn't a big deal since I have my boarding pass and I am obviously not a time traveler... Or maybe this will cause me all sorts of problems with AOS, marriage license, SSN etc.

    Thanks for your help!

  3. I have my interview and medical coming up. Dr Cheema's office is very frustrating to communicate with, they will only use email and frequently take up to 5 days to reply, sometimes sooner. My interview is Dec 3 and the absolute best date for the medical they can give me is Nov 26. I guess the days are gone of being able to do the whole process in a few days. Also, the clinic is in Surrey, which is about 1.5 hours on public transit from Vancouver, which you will have to do two days in a row because it sounds like you can no longer pick up your results the same day as your medical. So I guess I'll be wasting 8 days in Vancouver (or take 2 separate flights), and spending 6 hours on public transit to get my medical done! Yay. I wonder how they decide which clinic gets to make a fortune off of us, and do you think they moved it out to Surrey to make this miserable experience a little more miserable?

  4. Hi all, I am Canadian, my fiance and I have submitted the first application in March.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the beneficiary owning property in the US. I own a condo in Chicago, which is currently rented out. My fiance and I may choose to live in the unit once I'm allowed to move there.

My concern is that immigration will accuse me of "living in the US" before I am allowed. I'm hoping that as long as I have a valid lease for the tenants in the condo, then I should be okay. I am also assuming they will know about the condo, even though I don't plan on advertising the information.

I also own a rental property (and my own property) in Calgary, so I have proof of residence there, and I also work in Calgary, although on a casual basis at the hospital.

Has anyone had a similar situation?
