Can you file tax return jointly with your spouse, even if he or she is not in the US yet (or without a socail security number)?

How long did it take for your I-130 and I-129F to be approved?

No, the marriage certificate translation does not contain the required attestation requirement.

Do we need to obtain a certification by the translator for our marriage certificate translation(as mentioned in the I-130 instructions), even though the translation document was notarized?

Does it take same amount of time to obtain the CR1 visa compared to K3 visa when it was still available?

After reading all the posts, I am still confused about K3 vs. CR1. In my case, I got married 3 weeks ago and was planning to file for K3 visa for my wife. I am a U.S. citizen. This is my second marriage. My first marriage was via the K1 pathway, which ended in divorce (after one year of marriage). Marriage ended before she would have gotten the permanent green card. Given my circumstances, is CR1 still a better option for us than K3? Will CR1 allow my wife to arrive in U.S. more quickly than K3?

Does it matter which state you are a legal resident of? ( My driver's license is from Michigan)

Thanks for all the infomration. I really appreciate it. I already have a permanent address in Maryland (which is my parents house), where I can safely receive all of my mail. However, is it permissible to list my Maryland address on the I-130 application to receive mail, even though I am currently living in Michigan?

Hello everyone,
I recently got married and will be filing I-130 soon. I had a question about which home address should I list on the application. I am currently living in Michigan because of my job. However, I will be moving to Maryland in July to start a new job. I already know the address of residence in Maryland. I have heard that changing the address during visa petition process, may delay the total time it takes for visa approval (especially if it means change of service center: Michigan service center is California and Maryland service center is Vermont). Does anyone have any suggestions, as to what should I do? Should I list my Michigan address on the application? or should I list my Maryland address?
Change to Married name when applying for I-751
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted
Hi,
My wife will be applying for I-751 in order to get the unconditional green card since she has had the conditional green card for 2 years now.
When we first applied for her green card through the CR-3 process, we forgot to change her maiden name to her married name. Is it now possible to change her last name from her maiden name to her married name when we apply for I-751?
Thank you.
